1. In this presentation I have I will show you how I have corrected
my grammar and spelling mistakes in my groups documentary
review we created. During the editing of this review I have re-
worded and added information to it.
Editing of documentary report
2. In this unit we had to produce a documentary about the Lewis chessmen involving the British
museum and chocolate films. The target audience is for the people that know a little bit about
them and want more information. When creating the documentary we focused on the
conventions that other professional documentaries have such as the death of Biggie and 2pac.
This documentary gave me a good idea of how to make a really good documentary.
Originally I spelled biggie as “biggy”, when
doing this kind of stuff you have to make
sure you get the spelling correct especially
when using famous artist names.
Make sure to have capital letters at
the begging of names and places.

4. Here I have found a spelling mistake, I will now correct it.
Finalisation > Finalization. I will re-write this whole
paragraph.
I took on numerous Pre-production tasks to help with making the documentary because I knew it would
help a lot with my documentary editing. I think its best to have a plan before making it so you have more
time to think of what decisions to make. The things that went really well in our documentary was the
use of research, it ask the public as well as the curator was a big help, overall it got us in focus of what
we were learning about. In the research and planning we could have improved our timeline; it wasn’t
very accurate to the finalization of the documentary because it almost completely changed anyway.
In this re-written version I have made a huge improvement in my
spelling and grammar. Also using the ‘Synonym’ feature helped a lot
considering I was quite limited with words; I needed to expand my
vocabulary when writing this review.
5. The paragraphs I used here are also very basic so I decided to
re-write it, I seem to have made many mistake whilst doing
this review, so going back and reading this will definitely help
with my writing capabilities.
The difference in these two paragraphs is
quite incredible, the re-written paragraph is
well presented; No spelling mistakes,
reduction from the use of commas.
6. This paragraph seemed too basic so I decided to re-write it, also the
spelling mistake makes it seem unprofessional too.
Here's my re-written version of this paragraph, as you can see I’ve used a wider
range of words, making for a more professional look to my review and also
correcting the spelling mistake helps.
7. The editing process started off quite messy due to people not
being in the lesson at the time of editing etc. But over the
days of using Final cut pro we got really good and the editing
process became gradually easier and easier.
When all the shots were captured we began editing process
of the documentary. While editing we decided to use the
fading tool quite a lot; the fade tool allows the clips to fade
into each other, these kind of effects made our documentary
look good and very professional.
When implementing images into our documentary we chose
to place them carefully; for example as the curator was
talking about where the Chess pieces were founded we put a
picture up of where she was talking about.
The music that we used was created carefully in garage band,
we wanted it to be something that would fit perfectly with a
olden style documentary considering the Lewis chessmen
were founded years and years ago. In the end we were happy
with what it turned out to be like.
In this version of the paragraph you can see that its all
jumbled up in a big paragraph, the use of words could
be changed, use less grammar and make it sound
professional to the readers ear.
In this re-written version I have corrected all the
mistakes, I’ve put the correct grammar in the correct
places, full stops, commas, Semi colons ETC. Instead of
having a bunch of words together I decided to make 4
separate paragraphs each one talking about different
things.
8. When writing about these things I had to make sure
that I was writing the correct information, also
making sure my grammar and punctuality was on
point.
