3. Motivation to improve our great state!
I vote so that I
have a say in who
is governing Texas.
I want to improve
our education
system.
I want Texas to
continue to be a
conservative state
with strong moral
values.
4. Surprise!! I learned…
• Texans are in favor of less government.
• The number of people who vote is very
low!
• Texas executes the most criminals.
5. Improve the education system in Texas!
Improving education is a win-win for the Texas
of tomorrow!
More productive citizens
Education improves
Pay teachers more
Increase school district budgets
Teachers need our help! They are underpaid,
and don’t have the resources they need to teach
effectively.
6. I believe Texas plays a major role in influencing the government on future policies.
Texas breeds strong political candidates with good business sense, moral values and the
money to back their campaigns.
7. There are several things that I learned this semester that will influence me in the
future. One is the importance of voting and encouraging my community to vote. Secondly
is what policies and laws the various levels of governments make and/or oversee. In the
future, I would like to be more involved in Sherman’s City Council, or School Board. It’s
not fair to complain about a law, ordinance or tax if I am not willing to do something
about it!
