2. My name is Rachel Smith, I am 21 years old, and I am recently married to
my high school sweetheart of 6 years. My major is a General Studies
degree, as I hope to continue my education to a university in the future.
About Me
3. Motivation
My country motivates me. I believe that we all
should be active in voting for our country.
The things that will stay the same will be my
beliefs, as I am a strong Christian, and have
been most of my life. The things that change
will be my involvement in politics. I would like
to increase my involvement.
4. Texas Government
I learned more about the pros and cons of social media
in politics.
I learned more information about interest groups and
how they work.
I also learned more about former Governor Perry’s
achievements and how he changed our government.
I did not know before anything really about how our
government worked. I also knew very little about Perry. I
was not expecting to learn about our cities and how they
ran, I learned a lot in this area.
5. Education
I believe education is
an important political
issue, that needs more
focus on fixing for
future generations.
The educational system
is lacking and needs
more support and
money.
These children are our
future, and we need to
provide better
education and school
systems for them.
6. Texas and the Federal Government
Texas plays a big role in national income, as
Texas is one of the largest states in America.
Texas also has much to do with the boarders,
as it has a major influence on immigration
bordering of Mexico.
7. My Voice Matters!
After taking this course, I learned many things that will forever
impact me in Government. There are many things that I will
take with me into the future, but the most important thing I
learned is that my voice matters!
I learned that we as the people of America have much more
control and power than I ever realized. We have an important
duty as Americans to be involved and give our voice. I can
join interest groups, vote, write letters to legislators, and
more. I will forever more let my voice be heard!
