2. Active Participant in our
Political System
• I vote because, I feel as if it’s one of
the best ways to make an impact.
Voting is a right that allows us, the
united states citizens, to elect official
that we believe have the best
intentions for the U.S. Voting gives
the people a voice.
• I vote not only for my voice, but
those who cannot.
• I believe something that could be
altered is lower taxes, and to try and
lower the poverty level.
• One thing that I would keep the
same is gun laws. Now, I say this
because I personally believe that
everyone should have the right to
bear arms. I just think we should
take more precautions when
3. Surprising Texas Policies
• Before this class, I knew very little about the structure
of the U.S. Government, let alone Texas Government.
• However, I now know a little bit of information over
Texas Political Culture. Such as moralistic subculture,
individualistic subculture, and traditionalistic
subculture.
• Another topic I did not know much about was Capital
Punishment. I had no idea that the cost of funding
this, was such a great amount.
• I would like to learn more about the systems of city
government. I feel as if I didn’t fully grasp the concept
and would be more than glad to go over the material
once more.
4. Political Issue for future generation
• One issue that I believe should always be worked
on, is that of poverty. I do not believe that anyone
in the United States should have to be homeless
or suffer of starvation.
• This goes along with the low minimum wage rate.
There is a great chance that if the wage is raised
some, maybe more individuals would make
enough money to find better living situations. I
believe that many Americans live pay check to
paycheck, and possibly there are different ways to
5. Texas influencing the
federal government
• I believe that with Texas being the largest state, it
leads as example in many aspects. Voting being
one.
• A large amount of voters come from this state.
Since there are 34 electoral votes from Texas, this
is very important during election period.
• With the recent election with Cruz, and Beto we
see the importance of a vote and close an
election can get.
6. Lessons learned about
our government
processes• There are a few lessons I will take with me, as I go
about life.
• One of the major things that I will take from this
class is, that the main goal of our government is
to protect the citizens of the United States. Not
all political figures are trying to cause any trouble,
in fact, most just want what's best for the people.
• Another lesson is, how much voting truly helps. I
know plenty of people who believe that their vote
“doesn’t matter”. However, voting has so much
power behind it. From here on out, I will
