2. Idea 1 & 2
This first logo displays a simple serif typeface, all in lower case too
connote uniqueness and individuality; both key conventions of the
indie genre. Too make this logo special to my artist, I have distorted
the 's' in both words, pointing them in opposite ways, this is too
simply give the artist a unique way of writing the name, building up a
brand identity and memorable logo. On a more complex level, it can
be considered to represent the different directions of the
relationship after the break up. This symbolism is further reinforced
by the name of the artist 'choose wisely', once again referencing this
idea of choosing the path after a relationship. Symbolism and
representation such as this makes the logo more complex and allows
the audience too make inferences connecting them with the artist
and immersing them in the brand.
This idea of a logo connotes fragmentation and distortion, both key
themes portrayed in my music video and print productions. Using a sans
serif typeface with elegant ascenders and descenders, this style suggests
class, this is then contrasted and challenged by the two layers of the text
creating a illusive and distorted style. This logo is extremely different to
my other initial ideas as it is unclear and confusing, however, this doesn't
make it any less effective as this logo directly links to the style and
artistic influence shown in my print production. However, as my artist
produces Indie music, the typeface of this logo doesn't suit the genre
and would give a wrong depiction of the artist.
3. Idea 3
Similarly to the first idea, this logo is simple but stands out due to the small edits I made in Photoshop. With
reversing the 'e' letters, I took direct inspiration from Hip Hop artist Eminem, whom uses the reversed 'e' to
make his name and logo memorable. Following a serif font once again this style follows generic conventions of
the indie genre, in which I feel this typeface is suited appropriately. A downfall of this design is the lack of
symbolism as opposed to the ideas prior.
