2. Research
I found the research pages really useful, the first thing I looked at was the
existing products which allowed me to look into the features used in matching
games like Candy Crush Saga and Bejeweled . I discovered the different
layouts and effects that are used depending on the type of game, this meant I
could see what to include in my own product so I didn’t include unnecessary
features that wouldn’t match. I thought about the most common designs
that had been used and why they had been used. I felt like my strength in the
research section was researching the products that were similar to my game
because I could see how they were made and how I could base it off of my
own game. The areas that were not helpful were that we were not asked to
do a questionare which would have given me an idia on what my audience
wanted
3. Planning
To plan my final product I looked at fonts and colour schemes that is related
to basketball or my team I gathered the images I would be likely to use in
my project like a shark, a wheelchair and a basketball. I also did three layout
plans for the jerseys, team poster and tickets I made, this involved where the
titles images and information would go on each of the products. I found that
my strengths in planning was finding images that relate to my ideas and
would match well with my final piece. I also found that I was good at planning
the layouts that I was going to follow when making my team poster, team
logo, jerseys, and tickets. I found that my weakness was considering the
safety hazards and the potential Issues. If I had collected all the sources I
would need to make the final product before I started making it I could have
had more time to add extra detail.
4. Time Management
I felt like I have managed my time well and I successfully finished
my production work on time. To start with I collected all the images/pictures
I was likely to be using through out the project and to get the images I
used Google Images and them afterwards I saved them into a folder, then
I started creating the game and to do that I used Photoshop and
google images, then I started creating the game logo and to do that I also
used Photoshop and google images, then afterwards I went back and looked
through my work to see if I needed to improve anything then I finished
everything off until it was up to a good standard and then finally, I started my
evaluation. I think that I would have done better If had understood how to
use photoshop and I was difficult for me to desigin everything.
6. Aural Qualities
I didn't add any music to my game because I didn't think it would be necessary to add music to a
game demo that would only add 3 seconds
7. Aesthetic Qualities
I think that my final product is really creative and unique. The visual style for all my products
would be that they all have the team colours which are red and blue and the content of all my
products is to promote my basketball team. I have stuck by the original team colours I had
discussed in my planning. If I was to improve my final piece I would add more detail to the
jerkies and poster that I made. I think the best thing I made for this project was the team logo
and poster because I added enough detail and made them unique. I am happy with the size and
amount of the pixels that I chose to use that I used to create the size of my documents. I think
that my biggest strength was sticking to the theme and colour scheme that I had chosen in my
planning. I think my weakness was creating all the aspects of the game so they all had
similar amount of detail.
8. Audience Appeal
The overall audience that my finished products would appeal to is anybody from all ages and
from all sex’s. It still doesn’t specially aim at any social group or psychographic. My final piece
would also appeal to anybody who wants to play three match moblie gameds. I chose these
because I know a lot of people would like to get involved in a new sport which is inclusive.
Not everybody will be interested in my product because the game is a three match game and
not many people like three match game. My product would appeal to them because my
products will cheap to buy because I would sell them to people that belong the belongers class
and it would also apply to all genders because my game is all inclusive of all genders.
