2. Theme Ideas
Mystery: Mystery is a common theme within
Soap Opera’s. It is used to draw in the
attention of the audience. It successfully
attracts the audience as they want to find out
the meaning behind the secrets within the
soap. I may use this theme as a way to attract
the audience to my poster and therefore my
soap opera.
Dark: I may experiment with a dark theme in
my poster by adding dark colours and certain
photo filters to make them seem of a darker
nature. Which will be used to convey dark
events such as murder. Furthermore I may add
in a smoke effect to further express the dark
theme.
I would like the tagline to represent a theme
or tone, such as dark, which relates to my
soap opera trailer. The language used will be
simple maybe playing on a famous phrase or
set of words. I may have the tagline towards
the bottom of the poster or maybe in the
middle over the image. This is so that it is one
of the first things the audience notices on the
poster.
“Who’s behind the mask” – this tagline
represents the masked character in my soap
opera trailer who stalks one of the female
characters. This tagline further represents the
theme of mystery and would attract the
audience to watch the soap opera to find out
who actually is the character behind the
mask. Furthermore on my poster I aim to
have the masked character as one of the
images so this tagline will directly relate.

3. Images Needed
I will need a few images on my poster rather
than just one so that the audience will know
the different characters associated with my
soap opera. Furthermore having more than
one character on my poster will denote to the
audience how there is more than one story arc
in which more than one character is involved
in. Additionally it will show that some
characters storylines are connected as they are
all on the same poster. I intend to use a
background of trees or grass as where the
murder in my trailer takes place is around a
forest area, by doing this it will tease some
elements of the soap opera to the audience.
Point of Call
In order for the viewer to gain information
On the soap opera, I will include point of
call information displaying the day and
time the soap opera will be airing and
which channel it will be airing on. I will put
this information on the bottom of the
poster so that it is one of the last things
the audience will digest and remember.

4. Synergy
I will add synergy with social media websites such as Twitter, Facebook and Snapchat.
This will allow fans of the soap opera to interact and share opinions on the new
episodes of the soap opera. I could use a hash tag to add synergy between my poster
and twitter so audiences can easily find out more information about Grange Road. The
social media idents will appeal to a younger generation as they are the “digital natives”
and are more attuned to social media such as Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat.

5. Conclusion
In conclusion to create a high quality poster I will need to take images
of characters from my soap opera to place on my poster. Furthermore I
need to organise props for the characters for the images I will be taking
and download appropriate fonts from ‘DaFont’.
I will be using Adobe Photoshop to create my poster as through
Photoshop I can easily edit images and arrange the poster in a
professional format.
