1. POSTERCAMPAIGNPROPOSAL
PROJECT TITLE
614
FORMAT & SIZES
Teaser & Theatrical Poster 27”x41”
Quad Poster 30”x40”
PURPOSE
The purpose of my project is to inform my audience there is a new film coming out and to
promote it to a wider audience.
DESCRIPTION OF PRODUCT (GENRE & PLOT ELEMENTS FEATURED)
I am going to produce a film poster campaign for an action film as part of the promotional
materials for the film ‘614’
The film is about a character named Ajax and Yui, trying to escape from their city as it rapidly
got infected by the infamous '614’. The 614 is a man-made disease that target specific people but
can spread easily. It is made in the labs using the targets DNA infusing with the disease.
The plot elements that I will feature in the poster are Yui and Ajax as the main characters, the
city/hometown where the story unfolds, 614 diseases in a test tube and flowers covered in blood.
These are the main plot elements I would feature because of how they generally set an idea/tone
for the film, so audiences can expect certain elements coming up.
OUTLINE OF STYLE
To highlight the mood and visual style, all three of my posters will have red being the primary
colour alongside deep browns and dark shades of black. This would influence people’s views on
the film as the colour red is associated with blood, danger, and death. The colour black also
allows red to stand out more so that the potential audience can focus on parts of the posters.
In the theatrical poster (portrait), the main feature will be Yui and Ajax standing back-to-back,
this shows the audience who the two main protagonists are and sets a tone for the story. Yui and
Ajax standing back-to-back resembles them being a team/being in a relationship as they help
each other escape 614. Yui and Ajax both wear clothes that are basic and are slightly dirty, this is
because of the journey they go through in attempt to escape. The story is set in the present and
throughout the story they are fighting for survival.
In the quad poster (landscape), the main feature will be both Yui and Ajax again as the main
protagonists. The other plot elements I will be including is the home city that the film features in.
Including their home city, the quad poster allows the audience to have an idea to the potential
setting and its surrounding. I would like to make the quad poster in a sort of before and after
scene. This will help me involve other plot elements like the 614 diseases, and how it is caused
havoc and discord in the city.
In the teaser photo, I will have a ‘broken’ test tube resembling the 614 diseases alongside a
flower covered in blood. These are major plot elements in the story and having only the two
objects in the teaser photo underlines the importance of them. The 614 liquid is pure red like
blood which will stand out covered all over the flower, this is another factor that will give
emphasis.

Image List
I need a landscape direct approach image of my two models walking into an alley way. I have
chosen this kind of shot as it briefly highlights where the main protagonists are and establishes
the location.
I also need a portrait, worms eye view of a dirty alley way. I have chosen this, as the alleyway is
an important part of the story where some of the major scenes happen. The worms eye view also
exaggerates the surrounding area, making everything look ‘big’ and ‘scary’
Lastly, I need a close-up shot of a flower with a test tube filled with blood. I am choosing this
approach as you can clearly see the details of the flower, and important aspect of the story.
Font’s
Apocalypse Grunge Font | dafont.com – Title
I have chosen this font for the title as it gives off a striking effect being in italics. I also like the skid-blood
details, fitting well with the film 614.
Help Me Font | dafont.com – Tagline - One by One
I have chosen this font as the tagline as the text looks roughly written, it emphasises the tagline ‘one by
one’, making it more dramatic as if people are writing the text themselves.
SF Movie Poster Font | dafont.com – Billing Block, Star Names– Directed by, by etc
I have chosen this font for the billing block as it is simple and readable, it matches well with the other fonts
I have selected.
(Possibly may switch out to)

Movie Letters Font | dafont.com – Billing Block?
Road Rage Font | dafont.com – Title?

TARGET AUDIENCE (AGE, GENDER, LIFESTYLE, INTERESTS, SPENDING
POWER)
The target audience for this film will be people in their late teens to their 30’s. It will be suitable
for both genders and they are people who may still be in education and/or just starting to move
out. The reason why I am aiming this to the demographic of late teens to 30s is because they tend
to consume a lot of media on the daily and are interested in the genre action; they are possibly
into horror films too. In addition, it links to channel 4’s brief aiming the film towards a wide
viewing audience of both genders between ages of 18 towards mid 30’s as this is the most
accessible audience that actively watches films and shows.
HOW THE POSTERS WILL APPEAL TO THE AUDIENCE
The poster will appeal to the audience as Yui and Ajax are characters that the audience can relate
to/feel closer to. Yui is 20 years old, and she has recently moved out starting university alongside
Ajax who is 21 who has also moved out. Yui and Ajax both wish that society improves as the
world is going through the global warming crisis and potential wars (even though throughout the
story society falls into a pit of darkness).
The colour scheme may also appeal to the audience as they are colours that stand out. People are
naturally drawn to things that stand out as it piques interest. Typically, action is a universal
genre; it entices audiences of almost all age groups which links back to the brief. Personally, I

would like the film to appeal to a wider audience as it can be enjoyed by many. If it can appeal to
a wider audience, the film is likely to do well and earn a lot more money.
DISTRIBUTION
Distribution aid companies to spread a certain product so that people can see it.
A poster is a great way of distribution to advertise a film as posters can be printed and published
to be put out on billboards, bus stops etc. These places are always out in the public, so almost
everyone knows of it. Posters can also be copied and pasted into social media accounts and
advertised there. Social media is used by almost every age group (though usually the younger
generation) and people can continuously share the posters more. A poster can be printed into a
newspaper and magazine, these are usually consumed by more mature and older audiences, but
also can be read by everyone.
The poster must consist of the director’s name, producers name, the actors, voice actors and the
company working on the film. Some people watch films because of famous people involved.
A campaign is used opposed to one singular poster as it can help create a larger audience and
build up hype, enticing the audiences as it slowly reveals plot elements without having to give
away any major spoilers.
MARKETING - HOW & WHERE THE POSTERS WILL BE ADVERTISED
Possible locations I would want my posters to be displayed would mainly be on social media and
in some public spaces. For example, social medias like Instagram and Twitter, websites that
feature other similar genre films. In public spaces, areas my posters could be placed are by city
centres, bus stops and possibly by train stations as those areas are usually highly populated,
meaning more people are likely to see it. I would also want my posters to be printed out into
magazine covers and in pages of the newspaper as I am able to reach an older audience.
POSITION IN THE MARKETPLACE
In my previous poster research, I had only completed research on the genre fantasy. The issue is
that it contrasts a lot to my posters I have created now as it is predominantly action with a hint of
horror.
In the posters I researched, they all consisted of bright bold colours and heavily detailed in terms
of character design and colour; they were also all anime. For example, Konosuba’s poster had
multiple characters on the front presenting with dynamic poses. They all had elaborate clothing
and you can easily tell it fits in easily with the isekai sub-genre and that it in fantasy. In contrast
to my theatrical poster, it only features Yui and Ajax, detailed only in design and minimalistic in
terms of colour (as I want certain aspects of the poster to stand out). Yui and Ajax are not in
dynamic poses but are in more scared looking positions. Their clothing is dull and dirty along
with the set being dark. You can depict that it has something to do with horror/action
4. POSTERCAMPAIGNPROPOSAL
In the Demon Slayer poster, the only few similarities my poster has with theirs is that the
characters are in a fighting stance and the colour scheme is very vibrant and bright, the
background is slightly dark which lets the colour pop out a lot more making it look more
dramatic. In my poster, the two protagonists are walking together through an alleyway prepared
for what comes up, and the colours red and black stand out the most.
My poster will fit into the current marketplace as it fits the theme of action-horror well. The
poster consists of a few plot elements you would only see in said genres e.g., blood, dark
alleyways, dirty clothing. The teaser poster can automatically be identified as part of the horror
genre due to the mass amount of blood. The main characters are featured on watch to what could
possibly happen in the alleyway they are moving to, it is dark, dirty and not somewhere you
would go to casually on a day-to-day basis. Yui and Ajax’s clothes are slightly shagged and
dirty, their clothes are also not the latest fashion either. These elements are things you would not
see in a Disney Fairy Tale or a comedy romance.
