With the collaboration of FoA SKUAST-K and CCSHAU KVK Karnal,
the following village was selected –
1. Village name – Taraori
2. Block – Nilokheri
3. Tehsil- Nilokheri
4. District – Karnal (Haryana)
5. Pincode-132116
Taraori village
• Taraori is one of the biggest grain market of asia and it is known for
basmati rice export.
• The name of Taraori is derived from the word “Taraine”. Agriculture
and dairy are the main occupation of the village. Paddy and wheat are
the major agriculture crops. Several progressive farmers also
cultivating maize crop since 2012.
• The Taraori village is located 16km away from the Karnal. It has its
own historical background during the time of Prithviraj Chauhan in
the yr. 1191.
• Carrot, okra, peas and tomato are the major vegetables of Taraori
village.
PRA(Participatory Rural Appraisal)
• Concept of PRA is given by Henry Ford.
• Father of PRA is Robert Chamber and in India Neela Mukherjee.
• The basic concept of PRA is to learn from rural peoples.
• It is a methodology for interacting with villagers, understanding them,
learning from them and technique of data collection.

SUGGESTIONS:-
• Proper sanitation in cattle shed.
• Follow the vaccination schedule properly.
• Give Raksha Bio-vac for diseases HS, FMD etc.
• Deworming should be done by (Piperazine @10mg/kg body weight) monthly up to first 6 months in
calf after that it should be done after every 3 months intervals.

Objectives of RAWE Understanding of rural life by students. Familiarity with the socio-economic situation of village. Opportunity for practical training. Development of Communication skill in Transfer of Technology.  Understanding of technologies followed by farmers. Preparation of production plan suitable for local situation.  Development of confidence and competency for facing problematic situation and finding solutions.
  • 6. Selection of Location With the collaboration of FoA SKUAST-K and CCSHAU KVK Karnal, the following village was selected – 1. Village name – Taraori 2. Block – Nilokheri 3. Tehsil- Nilokheri 4. District – Karnal (Haryana) 5. Pincode-132116
  • 7. Taraori village • Taraori is one of the biggest grain market of asia and it is known for basmati rice export. • The name of Taraori is derived from the word “Taraine”. Agriculture and dairy are the main occupation of the village. Paddy and wheat are the major agriculture crops. Several progressive farmers also cultivating maize crop since 2012. • The Taraori village is located 16km away from the Karnal. It has its own historical background during the time of Prithviraj Chauhan in the yr. 1191. • Carrot, okra, peas and tomato are the major vegetables of Taraori village.

PRA(Participatory Rural Appraisal) • Concept of PRA is given by Henry Ford. • Father of PRA is Robert Chamber and in India Neela Mukherjee. • The basic concept of PRA is to learn from rural peoples. • It is a methodology for interacting with villagers, understanding them, learning from them and technique of data collection.
