6. 1. VILLAGE SURVEY
Village surveys were carried out in the different villages of district Sri Muktsar
Sahib (Punjab). All the students were divided into 4 to 5 groups and each group of
5 members got a different village to survey. We had to choose one village
randomly and to fill a performa in which we had to gather all the information
about the village.
* Lambi Dhab – is a village situated in Sri Muktsar Sahib district. It was the village
selected for our group to carry out the survey. Cropping pattern was common that
is Wheat – Paddy.

1.Location:-
Lambi Dhab village is located in district Sri Muktsar Sahib, Punjab.It come under gram
panchayat Lambi Dhab.It is located 8 km from Sri Muktsar Sahib, 18 km from Sadiq town
and 30 km from Faridkot.This village has area about 1403 acres out of which 15 acre
under forest.

11. (B).WEATHER AND SEASONALITY
1. Weather
Muktsar district receive average rainfall about 384mm. 70-
80% annual rainfall is received during monsoon period i.e
June-September. The climate is hot and humid during
summer and cold during winter.
2 .Temperature
Temperature is approximately 40-45 degree celsius in
summer and 12-22 degree celsius during winter. Summer
generally commenses in month of March.

16. 2. Water
The village has five hand pumps for drinking water of which two
are not functioning now. Village has good drinking water facility
as these pumps provide hygenic water. There are few
households which are little far away from the hand pump and
well therefore they face a lot of problem for drinking water.
There are also few households who use River water for drinking
purpose. The village has a pond of approximately 1 acre for
drinking water for their livestock.

1. INCOME SOURCE
According to the house hold survey the average
annual income of the family is Rs 300000, average
annual expenditure is Rs 200000 and a annual
saving is Rs 100000.
20. 2. FARM VISITS
In our programme of RAWE, we visited diiferent farms where we
gathered knowledge about various fields of agriculture and other
subsidiary occupations started by the farmers such as Dairy farm, poultry
farm, agriculture farm, etc.
