Final Verdict
I think I won’t use this layout for my front cover however I may use some features of it.
For example, the plugs on the left side and at the bottom will make the reader more
interested in the magazine and make them more likely to buy it. Also, the large main
image is another factor I like because it would be eye-catching and due it being the
main attraction of the magazine, give the reader a clear indication what your magazine
is on

I think it appeals to my audience because the different and bright colour scheme will
intrigue readers and give my magazine a creative and colourful feel. A feature my
audience might have.

I think that similar to this design, there are some features I will use and some that I won’t. For
example, I like the idea of having a masthead quite far down the page. I also like the plugs as
they are a good way of attracting an audience.
Why is it appealing to my audience?
I think this design appeals to my audience because due to the blue and white colour scheme,
it presents quite a relaxed feel which almost counters the rest of the front cover due to all the
different things going on. This representation of relaxedness is a feature I thought my
audience would have

• The darker colour scheme countered by the red that would feature

I don’t think I’ll use many features from this layout, especially not the darker colour scheme. I’m
not going to do that because it will counter the relaxed and creative feel I want my magazine to
give

Personally, I don’t think this kind of design would be that appealing to my audience. I think this
because the darkness of the colour scheme will not go well with the relaxed theme I would like
to run through my magazine. However, it could be appealing to my audience because the layout
is quite different and unusual which some of my audience may find appealing.

I don’t think I’ll use this kind of layout for my final magazine because it’s far too basic for
me as I would like to use different and unusual layouts. I also don’t think I’ll use this kind of
layout because the smaller images may be too small so not do their job in giving the
reader a valuable insight into a article. However, if the image is too small the reader will
not be able to see the image

I think this layout would be appealing to my audience because it is simple but effective.
This means that my audience would like it due to them being relaxed, just like the style of

I’m not sure if I’m going to used this kind of layout for my final music magazine. I’m not
sure because even though I like the design due it being different and unusual, I’m not
sure how well it would work for an actual music magazine contents page.

and unusual, similar to indie and alternative rock.

I really like this design and I think it may be the one I use for my final
media product. I like it because the design is very different and unusual.
It is also very effective because even though the 2 images are quite big,
there is still a lot of room for text in the middle
Why is it appealing to my audience?
I think this kind of layout is appealing to my audience due to its
unusualness. This again links to indie and alternative rock being quite
unusual sounding music genres meaning that this kind of layout will
appeal to my audience because of this.

I don’t think I will use a layout because it is far too simple and
boring. This means that it will bore the reader and make them
not want to properly read my magazine. Also, I would like my
magazine to have more than one image in because that means
the reader will get a better insight into the artist/band being
interviewed.
Why is it appealing to my audience?
My audience may like the simple but effective nature of this
layout. However, I think they are more likely to not like it due to
the same reason.

I’m not going to use this kind of design for my magazine due to it
being so simple and boring for the reader
Why is it appealing to my audience?
Personally, I don’t think this kind of design would be that appealing
to my audience due to it being so simple and my audience wanting
something far more unusual. However, they could find if appealing
due to the very large main image or the possibility of having a lot
of smaller images in that area. They might find that appealing
because then they’ll be able to find out a lot more about the
artist/band being covered in the interview
