In this mock up I like the fact
that my masthead is bright
and colourful. The colour red
goes well with the image of
the artist and fits well with
the genre. I also like how the
colour of the girls top and my
masthead match. I could
have included more article
previews and some more
colour on my actual person.
On my magazine I made
sure that I included colour as
I wanted my magazine to be
eye-catching for my
audience.

In this mock up I like the fact
that my masthead is in 3d
and includes the colours
black and red as I think they
go quite well together. I also
like how the colour of the
girls top and my masthead
match. I could have included

some more colour but I quite
like this design and it has
influenced my magazine

In this mock-up image I like
the fact that my masthead is
in 3d and that it has flames
coming off of it as I think it
looks quite affective. I could
have included more
information about articles
that were going go to feature
in the magazine. I could
have also included some
background colour. I have
learnt from doing this that I
must include colour to make
the front cover bold and eye
catching.

middle. I also like how

numbering which makes it
easier to understand what
page is for. To improve it I

could have also included a
better looking font for each
of my numbers.

numbering which makes it
easier to understand what
page is for. To improve it I

magazine as it appears quite
bland. In future I would also
use more colours as I think
without colour it looks plain.

In all 3 of my DPS I used the
same layout. To improve this
I should have done different
designs. I should have also
included a preview of what
was going to feature in my
articles I could have also
included some different
colour as it looks boring and
plain. I took this information
and made sure that on my
actual magazine I included
different colours so that it
would be eye catching for
the reader.

11. Evaluation
• These mock up images are appropriate for my genre as they include artists
who are from the same genre. The also include music, fashion and
competitions which my audience would be interested in. The style of fonts
used also relate to the hip hop genre as they are bold but are also quite arty
like graffiti which many people associate with hip hop.
• The pros of these mock ups is that they include things which my audience
would find interesting and relevant to the things they like. Such as fashion,
music and designer brands.
• The cons of my mock ups is that they are quite plain and don’t include
things that most magazines have e.g. barcode, price and date. I looked at
my mock ups and knew that I had to make sure that I included the things in
my actual music magazine as these are the typical conventions that people
are used to seeing. If I therefore were to include these conventions that
people would be more likely to think of my magazines as a proper
magazine. This why I made sure that I included these conventions in my
current music magazine.
