What have you learnt from your audience
feedback ?

2. Focus Group
The main way that I got my audience feedback was through my focus
group. Audience feedback was essential an essential part of the planning
research and finally creating my production. Audience feedback has helped
me with colour scheme, layout and contents of my magazine. After create
my mock-ups I presented my ideas with my focus group to get their
opinions about what I planned my magazine to look like, this was extremely
helpful at this stage as it meant that I still had enough time to make these
essential changes.
When using a focus group you have to be careful that your ideas are not
overshadowed, the reason for this is that some people can be very
opinionated therefore there is a risk of loosing your own ideas and straying
to far off the codes and conventions of magazines of the same genre.

3. Front cover – feedback
Amy Bristow “in my opinion I really like the front cover image and I think that It works
really well with the blue colour scheme”
Olivia Dove “ I think that there could be more writing on the front cover, however I
also think you have to be careful when adding more writing as it could make it look
too cluttered “
Abbey Waitt “ I really like the front cover, I love the main image and think that the
minimalistic writing compliments the image and if you added any more writing I think it
would take away from the image
The reason that this feedback was helpful was when creating my front cover I was unsure whether I needed to
include more writing on the front cover. The reason for this was when I was experimenting with adding more
writing on my front cover I was worried that It looked too cluttered, therefore using my focus group was
extremely helped me to make a final decision about whether to include more writing on my final production of
the front cover.

4. Advert page – feedback
Amy Bristow “ I really like the layout and colour scheme of this page, I think that both
of these factors make it look really professional”
Olivia Dove “ the only thing that I think you could improve on is the title of the page
because in my opinion I don’t think that It stands out enough, other than that I really
like the page.
Charlie Barker “ I really like the layout of the page and the images that are displayed
on the left hand side”
All of the feedback for my advert page was very constructive and helped me to
create the final production of the page. After looking at Olivia’s feedback about
changing the title is decided that I would experiment with different font and
font sizes, however I decided that I would leave it smaller as in my opinion I
think that it makes it look more professional.

5. Double Page spread – feedback
Olivia Dove “ I love the three images at the top of the page although it is not
conventional to have three images i think that they give the reader a really nice image
about what Whitstable is like”
Amy Bristow “ I like the overall presentation of the double page spread, however I'm
not too sure about having three images at the top of the page, apposed to just having
one image”
Abbey Waitt “ I really like the column on the right hand side of the page as I think it is
adds some variety and colour to the page and is something that I have seen in a
number of different regional magazines that I have read”
I was really pleased with the feedback from my double page spread as although
some people were unsure about using the three images as it is not conventional
they liked the overall presentation of the page.
