Background Summary
I view facilitation as a process of empowering students and enabling them to lead a successful
and fulfilling life. I promote these through an interactive, collaborative, and inquiry-based
pedagogy. My dialogical facilitation strategy engenders in students a desire to learn, elevates
their self-confidence and self-respect, and encourages them to cooperate with others.
As a skills practitioner, my primary focus is not facilitation "mere facts" but to enable students
to think critically about the production and organization of data into sequential narratives.
Rather than offering students a pre-programmed account of the past, I challenge them to reflect
on diverse patterns of causation and various scenarios and options available to their
environments. In my lectures, I redirect the task of explanation to students and seek to involve
them in the search for possible explanations for past problems. I encourage them to interrogate
authoritative to accounts, including my own, by evaluating the reliability of sources and how
facts are selected, judged, and organized into a perspective account of the past. The critical
thinking skills developed in my classes are transferable to other courses, disciplines, and the
sectors beyond the academy. My colleagues often identify my students on the basis of their
critical thinking skills and the foundational questions that they pose.
As a Skills Practitioner and whose responsibilities for the Training and development strategy and
the transferring of skills across the businesses and ensuring the application of best practice in all
areas are met.
As a Skills Practitioner, I provide support to management by developing, implementing and
advising on training policies and procedures and facilitating the transfers of skills, Championing
continual improvement reporting on and analyse key Skills measurement, seeking and advising
on ways to improve performance.
With my ability to interact at all levels and develop relationships with key stakeholders, I
provide the link between the Board, managers and employees ensuring that initiatives,
frameworks, policy and practice are cascaded appropriately to the business and their success
evaluated.
My reporting to the head of departments (Training And Development) is for a number of reasons,
the role requires me to work autonomously, having a strong interpersonal and communication
skills and the ability to plan and organise effectively.
My qualification M+3 (Business Management), And a EDTP SETA Accredited Skills Development
Facilitator, Moderator, Assessor and Facilitator. I have a passion for developing and championing
good practice in all that I do. Partnering and advising key stakeholders within the business I am
comfortable in operating both strategically and operationally applying my first class
communication skills.
Above all I possess a professional approach and drive to deliver a comprehensive Training and
Development service.
