2. Audience Profile
• Primary Audience
• Male teenagers from 15-20
• The two main characters can relate to you, Creed can relate to a lot of
teenager and Balboa could relate to your dad and how he is always
there for you know matter what you decide to do but also by how
strict they are as a parent. The teenage audience could also relate to
the anger that is shown by Creed when he is in juvenile prison because
of his anger after his dad died before he was born. Plus, it could show
how teenagers are usually closer to there mother than there father.
• Secondary Audience
• Male adults from 24-30
• Boxing can be quite violet in certain cases if they faced a world class
opponent that’s why the secondary audience would be adults. Also, it
could relate to how they struggled to get where they are now, just like
how Adonis Creed struggled to become a professional boxer, and how
he struggled to get Rocky Balboa out of retirement to train him. The
reason it would be for the male gender is because the two main
characters are both male meaning if you tried to relate to the movie it
would be harder if you are a female.
3. Audience Profile
• Primary Audience
• Teenagers male from 13-18.
• It is based mainly around Detective Jake Peralta and how he tries to
get a fellow officer that he has fallen for to love him back, but there
is a female main character Amy Santiago (who Peralta has fallen in
love for) but Peralta gets shown more making more of an male
audience to watch it so they can relate to him and he is also the
character that brings comedy into the show along with Boyle. The
relationship between Peralta and Boyle makes it relatable to your
real life. Plus, the relationship between Peralta and Santiago when
they start dating could be relatable, even to friends by the way they
care about each other and by how good there chemistry is on
screen.
• Secondary Audience
• Adult female from 35-40.
• The relationship between Santiago, Diaz and Linetti makes female
adults relate by how close they are with there friends, but also by
how different each character is, as it can relate to your relationship
with your friends if they are completely different but have a great
connection. It could also bring back memories with the way
Santiago and Peralta show there love towards each other, maybe
reminds them off how they use to act when they first started
dating.
4. Audience Profile
• Primary Audience
• Adult female 24-30.
• The genre of film is horror, meaning it is bloody and scary. The reason it is mainly for
female is because the two main characters, Pamela Voorhees and Alice Hardy are female
but the main character Jason Voorhees is male, he is not shown as much as the last
female in any of the films except for Freddy vs Jason. This film could relate to them if an
unexpected thing has happened. In Friday the 13th part one it is unexpected when a
women walks around camp Crystal Lake killing camp councillor's, because of how original
the idea is, the film franchise has a bigger audience than other genres. The storyline that
makes it original is that it started of with Pamela Voorhees who dishes out revenge at
camp Crystal Lake where her son drowned. After she gets decapitated at the end of part
one her son, Jason Voorhees returns from the death and dishes out even more revenge
because of his mothers death as he kills hundreds of councillor's because of what
occurred and the killer can not be killed so keeps on returning to kill over again on every
Friday the 13th.
• Secondary Audience
• Middle aged male 45-55.
• The male audience would like this film of the different, unique ways Jason/Pamela kill
there victims. The unique ways includes using a sleeping bag, using a bear trap and
Jason’s iconic machete. The way the franchise has changed over the years also makes the
middle aged audience enjoy it, by developing the films to take place in Manhattan and
also for the franchise teaming up with A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise in Freddy vs
Jason. That audience was also around to see the differences between the first Friday the
13th in 1980 and the latest remake in 2009.
5. Hypodermic Needle
• Definition
• Where the audience believes everything that is told by the media.
• Example
• Donald Trump keeps on lying to the media about things such as when
he told the news he was going to build a wall to stop Mexicans from
entering the country which people voted for thinking he was going to
do it but he still has not even started to do it yet.
6. Uses and Gratifications Information
• The audience watch TV shows and movies for different reasons such
as to find information about things such as advice on a certain thing
that has occurred recently. Personal identity so that you can relate to
what is occurring. Social interaction to identify with other characters
in the show. Finally, for entertainment to escape the outside world
because of something that has happened. For example I use escapism
when my brother annoyed me so I watch Creed to escape from the
world I was in.
7. Uses and Gratifications Personal
Identity
• Ways you can identify with people such as celebrities in the media.
For example I relate to Hassan Whiteside in the way we play
basketball as we both play the same position and we both can defend
but struggle shooting in basketball.
8. Uses and Gratifications Integration and
Social Interaction
• So you can identify with others and gain a sense of belonging. It also
can make a substitution for a real-life companion. Finally, it helps you
to connect with family and friends. For example me and my family
use to watch Merlin which helped to connect my family together.
9. Uses and Gratifications Entertainment
• It helps you to escape the outside world and also can be relaxing
which can release some emotions you are where in before watching
the show. For example when I am angry or upset I watch Brooklyn
Nine-Nine which gives me happiness because of the comedy in the
show.
10. Consumer Generated Content
• Example
• What are the advantages to media producers?
• It can be watched by different countries world wide.
• Keeps you updated with your favourite celebrities and friends.
• Why would the audience generate content?
• So there friends know what you are up to or if you are proud of
something that you did then you can show other people to see
what they think off what you made.
