My Fair Lady Analysis
My Fair Lady is a 1964 American musical based off of a play called, Pygmalion by George
Bernard Shaw. Eliza Doolittle, who lives in London, is not very educated and does not speak
very good English. Professor Henry Higgins meets Eliza in a subway and proclaims that he
could teach her how to speak properly. Eliza agrees to let him teach her and she is taken to his
home and is taught how to be proper and if she convinced Queen Victoria that she belonged in
the higher class then in return Professor Higgins would reward her with chocolates. Professor
Higgins teaches Eliza how to speak proper English by helping her with her pronunciation of
several different phrases that would teach her how to speak properly so that no one would know
that she was not actually from a high class family. She goes on to perfect her speaking so that
she could attend me the derby for her first test. She does well but at the end she gets involved
with the race and she ruins her cover and exposes herself. She goes on to continue working hard
to perfect high class tendencies. She, along with Professor Higgins, later attend the ball for her
final test. She dances and talks amongst the other guests and no one seems to see past Eliza s
act. She convinces everyone except for Colonel Pickering, who insists that she is an imposter.
Eliza carries on as if she is who she is perceiving to be. She returns home with Professor Higgins
and they all have a laugh about what had happened at the ball except for Eliza

The Female Heroine In The 1970 s
Until the 1970 s, female heroines were almost unheard of in movies or television shows. Then,
the science fiction genre gained popularity and Star Wars followed. Men and women alike were
interested in the films and story. Princess Leia was not the generic damsel in distress, but instead
was a quick thinking soldier for the rebel forces. Soon, fans and authors began to fill in the gaps
before, between, and after the movies. Female fans went from having just Princess Leia and a few
female side characters to many characters in the written expanded universe. During this time, the
prequel movies were announced, and many fans were at first excited and then disappointed. The
newer movies did not live up to the original trilogy. Also, female fans were more disappointed to
receive PadmГЁ while the main heroes were again male characters. Finally, Star Wars Episode VII,
later known as The Force Awakens, was announced.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were many books and comics in the New Republic Era of the expanded universe that
developed these three characters, many other including Lumiya, Melina Carniss and many other
supporting female characters from story to story. It was enough to keep the female fan base
coming back for more stories and even passing them on to friends looking for representation in an
era where science fiction was becoming a hugely popular genre. While the prequels were lacking
in female representation, they lacked in general according to fans and reviews with even Rotten
Tomatoes rating Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace at 55% rotten, the lowest rated of all
three new movies. Despite the fact that Rotten Tomatoes gave a benevolent rating, even if it was
lower, a quick skim through the comments show the fans feelings on the movie, few of which are

Peter Pan And Holden Comparison
To avoid unwanted pressure of growing up, in J.D. Salinger s The Catcher in the Rye and P.J.
Hogan s Peter Pan, the main characters Holden Caulfield and Peter Pan identify and evade their
main source of stress, their parents. In Salinger s The Catcher in the Rye, Holden Caulfield
struggles to move on with his life, he stops trying and drops out of the schooling that his parents
put him in. His parents hoped for him to succeed and would be disappointed to find out that he
had not met their expectations. Because of this, Holden avoids his parents and the unwanted
pressure, he s not ready to grow up and decides to stay in New York City for a while, and to give
his parents the chance to process the bad news. I decided I d take a room in a hotel in New York
some very inexpensive hotel and all and just take it easy until Wednesday. Then, on Wednesday,
I d go home all rested up and feeling swell. I figured my parents probably wouldn t get old
Thurmer s letter saying I d been given the ax till maybe Tuesday or Wednesday. I didn t want to
go home or anything till they got it and thoroughly digested it and all (Salinger 51). Holden is
not ready to face the pressure his parents will put on him after finding out he dropped out of
school, he knows they will be disappointed and fed up with his behavior for it is not the first time
he has done this. Holden respects his... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Romantic Comedies In The 1920 s
Romance is a genre which has been going since the 1890 s. Silent films were the starting point.
These very short films in black and white which involved two characters falling in love. They
would only last around 7 minutes. Film makers described love films being about desire and sex.
In the 1920 s to 50 s, romantic films began to portray more painful love. The story line would
involve two people who didn t get on. They would then fall in love more towards the end. Over
the years the romantic genre has been toyed with, trying to make films to suit a wider ranged
audience. This is how more sub genres of romantic films were gradually produced. They would
mix other genres in with the romantic genre so films had more variety and suited more people s
interests. Most romantic films are now of sub genres rather than just the plain romantic genre. Rom
coms have been a huge hit through the 21st century. Involving comedy within a romantic film. This
appeals greatly to a young audience. I feel romantic comedies also help to suit a male audience...

They want to give the audience something new so they won t get bored of a repeated plot. I feel 50
first dates is a good example of changing the story line. A boy and girl meet and fall in love over
a drink in a Hawaiian cafГ©. However, the twist comes the next day. The boy goes to see the girl
to come to realize she has no idea who he is. The audience experience the girl is suffering from
anterograde amnesia. She loses memory every present day and lives her life the same each day.
The man for 50 days continues to fight for her, trying to help her remember him. Every day, she
does not recognize him. I feel this is very romantic storyline with a lot of comedy, which will
attract a range of viewers. The actors used are very well known actors. This will help to attract
audience members who are lovers of Adam Sandler and Drew

The Inuit Indians And The Eskimo Indians
The Inuit Indians, also known as the Eskimo Indians, are a Native American tribe. The word Inuit,
means The People . They typically live in the colder regions throughout the world. In the United
States they live in Alaska. They also can be found in parts of Canada and Russia, those territories
are called the InuitTerritories. Canada s made it Unconstitutional to call an Inuit Indian by the name
Eskimo(Inuit). Inuits come from the Thule culture. They came to Alaska from Asia at around 1000
AD. At around 1500 AD they were said to have gone extinct, but in the 1950 s, researcher Henry B.
Collins researched and said that The Dorset tribe went extinct, not the Inuits (Inuit). The Inuits were
a strong tribe and started to find their territory.
Once the Eskimos found their place of land that they likes and thought would be a good fit they
started to settle. They had to look for sources of food, water, and flat land to build shelter. In their
territory they would not have to worry about other tribes or cowboys trying to take their land.
Alaska is mostly cold and snowy terrain. They started to make political boundaries, which are man
made to mark out their territory. When they needed necessities they would ask their Southern
Alaskan trading partners to help them. The Inuits would trade whatever they could, they would
even build them a place to live if needed. They would typically hunt for seals year around. The
main type that they could hunt year around was ringed seal. They had

The optimal contract is really a combination of three things: fixed payment or fixed price, cost
sharing and performance based compensation. The essence of PBL is buying performance
outcomes, not the individual parts and repair actions. Instead of buying set levels of spares,
repairs, tools, and data, the new focus is on buying a predetermined level of availability to meet
the [buyer s] objectives . Rolls Royce has responded to this market demand by developing a
comprehensive, integrated suite of engine aftercare services named Power by the Hour (PBH).
RollsRoyce works closely with customers, irrespective of their size and operating business

To What Extent Is Propaganda To Deceive People In Animal...
A belief is something that someone chooses to agree with because he thinks it is right. He has
his own beliefs because he makes his own decisions. However, some people think that people
can influence each others decisions, and although this is true, an influence is not completely
taking over what someone believes in. For example, Eric Hoffer once said, Propaganda does not
deceive people; it merely helps them to deceive themselves. Propaganda, biased news, will always
influence people, but it does not have enough power to gain total control of someone s beliefs.
People change their minds and let other people alter their thoughts, but it is still that same person
making his own decisions. As portrayed in the novel Animal Farm by George Orwell,... Show more

The quote by Eric Hoffer, Propaganda does not deceive people; it merely helps them to deceive
themselves, means that when someone is introduced to something biased, he chooses to believe
it which harms himself. For example, when children see a toy that looks pretty and fun, they
immediately want that toy. The producers of the toy make the toy look appealing to children so
their parents would buy it for them even if the toy does not work. The children want the pretty
toy so they trick themselves into thinking it will fun to play with because of its appearance, but
if it does not work, it is the customer s fault for believing that the toy was worth buying. Another
example is seeing ads on television. They always show the beneficial effects of something but
they do not show what can go wrong. This makes the audience want to buy the product because
they think it is perfect and does not have any bad effects. The audience buys the product thinking
it will only be a benefit to them, when they probably wasted their money on a useless product. The
people who decided to buy this made their own decision to buy it and this is what the quote is
saying. Some people will use something to trick others, but that person is tricking themself by
believing what the first person said. People do not have to believe everything they see, but when
they see something appealing to them, they trick themselves by giving into

Arbitrage Factor Costs
1. Define arbitrage factor costs Arbitrage factor costs are costs that an MNE suffers when the
company cannot resolve the issues without arbitration. These costs factors can injure a company in
various ways, from time and funds to the loss of competitive advantages. 2. Today s challenge is to
build transnational organizations that can sense an emerging consumer trend in one country, link it
to a new technology or capability it has in another, develop a creative new product or service in a
third, then diffuse that innovation rapidly around the world . With this in mind, identify a company

opportunities to be identified quickly and produced centrally. By keeping information central
they use the knowledge of being locally responsive to develop ideas at the center and disperse

companies risk market sensitivity for efficiency; therefore, companies learned to develop three
capabilities for the central to global process to work: I.Incorporate Inputs of subsidiaries into
centralized activities a.In order for a global company to be more locally responsive, it must allow
for local managers of subsidiaries to have more input in central activities. II.Ensuring that all
functional tasks are linked to market needs a.Develop systems through which value adding
functions like marketing, R D, and production can be integrated with the different foreign
subsidiaries. This will allow for central activities to be regulated and directed towards market needs.
III.Integrating value chain functions by the transfer of responsibilities a.The transfer
responsibilities from one value adding function to the next will ensure that there is an integration of

Panthera Leo Research Paper
Taxonomy
Introduction
The animal kingdom consists of about 800,000 known species (to include those that have been
proven to exist). All animals have multiple cells and therefore rely on the cells of other living or
dead organisms for their sustenance (growth and development). Animals develop from small groups
of unspecialized cells and the animals with simple cells grow their missing body parts through
regeneration. There are 36 phyla in the kingdom Animalia, for instance, Porifera, Annelida,
Mollusca, Arthropoda, Echinodermata and Chordata among others (Dudley, 2002). Pantheraleo
The African lion (Panthera leo), is a bold and admired species of the animal kingdom which
commands a lot of respect and fear in equal measure from human beings and wild animals alike. It
belongs to the phylum Chordata, class Mammalia, order Carnivora and family Felidae. African lions

Dimorphic males have dark manes that distinguish them easily from the females. Adult males
weigh up to 200kg while an average females weighs 120kg. The Panthera leo are polygamous and
they breed once every year. Statistics show that male lions are conspicuously large and they use
this advantage to dominate the pride of lions, which they have control over. Pride males form
coalitions in order to increase their chances of deposing an alpha male in another territory.
Succession battles are violent and bloody and may lead to serious injuries or death to the losers.
These hostile takeovers are precipitated by the need to pass individual genes to the next generation
of lions through the siring of cubs. As a result, the incumbent lion often takes unorthodox
precautions of eliminating the genes of the defeated lion through the killing of the suckling cubs of
their predecessors (Grinnel,

Nonverbal Communication in Politics
Nonverbal Communication in Politics
The 2012 presidential election finally reached its conclusion late Tuesday night on November 6th,
as the incumbent Barack Obama won a second term in the White House over the challenger Mitt
Romney. The election, with its reputation as the most expensive presidential race in history,
attracted wide attentions not only from the United States but also from many other countries
around the globe (Confessore McGinty, 2012). The election was also noted with a numerous
number of debates and discussions in both online and offline about the two candidates policies

Physical Appearance
The first form of nonverbal communication that plays a significant role in influencing the voting
behavior is the physical appearance of candidates. The analytical study by Olivola and Todorov
(2010) states that today s politics have become so extremely intricate and incomprehensible that
it is almost impossible for voters to genuinely agree to every aspect of the candidates views. For
instance, it is highly conceivable for voters to agree on international and security issues with one
candidate and agree on economic issues with the other candidate at the same time. Hence, the
number of the voters who are unfamiliar with the intricacies of political issues and unmotivated
to study candidates policy as a criterion for making their choice has increased (Olivola Todorov,
2010). In addition, according to Olivola and Todorov (2010), the field of cognitive psychology
indicates that people s minds tend to simplify decision making process by relying on simple rules
when they are confronted with too much information. As a result, instead of behaving as rational
actors and voting reasonably as they are believed to do so, voters are hugely influenced by and
unconsciously opt for irrelevant cues, which in this case, the candidates physical appearance.
Furthermore, Olivola and Todorov (2010) state that voters actually infer politicians personality traits
and form impressions on politicians based on their physical appearance

The Pros And Cons Of Single Parents
I was raised in a single parent household for much of my life. I can say that children who are
raised in a single family home have been looked at as being different for many years. Being
raised by only one parent seems hard or even impossible to many, yet over time it has become
more of the norm. Throughout society today, many children have grown up to become mentally
stable and successful whether they had one or two parents to help navigate them on the road of
life. Where the problem lies is in the difference of children raised by single parents versus
children raised by both a mother and a father. This topic has become a very thought provoking
argument with various questions being asked such as; Does a child need both parents? Should the
government provide help or services for single parents? What role do step parents and step siblings
play? People need to understand that to properly raise a child, they should not focus on the structure
of the family, but should be focused on the values and processes that are taught while their children
grow and mature. Children of a single parent household can continually grow and excel just as well
as children with a two parent household.
Some people think that children can only grow to their full potential by being raised by both a
mother and a father. For one parent to raise a child by themselves, it can be difficult for several
reasons. A single parent must work full time or with today s job market, work numerous part time

In Praise Of Folly, Martin Luther, The Ninety-Five Theses
The sections of history mentioned within this essay discuss very important events of religious
history. Within each section a person or group of people are rebelling against the religious norm of
their time. Erasmus, In Praise of Folly, Martin Luther, The Ninety five Theses, The Twelve Articles
of the Peasants of Swabia, and The English Act of Supremacy, 1534 are all writings that exemplify
this aspect. Within the time of the northern European Renaissance Erasmus of Rotterdam is

The Passionate Shepherd to his Love by Christopher Marlowe and The Nymph sReply by Sir

Local News Outlets And Political Participation
Local news outlets and political participation Thanks to technology, the world is more
interconnected than ever before. Even before the modern era of technological advances,
newspapers and fliers have been used to make the world as interconnected as possible. Then,
radios, tvs and ultimately computers and smartphones emerged. Anyone who wants to find an
information like where a polling place is or the names of the candidates as well as their speeches
and believes on the issues could find it in the palm of their hands. Tv shows like the Rachel
Maddow show, which airs weekdays on MSNBC and the O really Factor with Bill O really airs
on Fox News. The two anchors and democratic and republican leaning respectively so is their
respective networks. People tend to watch them for information and that affects the decision
making process for voters.
Asian American political participation in the 2008 presidential election
Race plays a role in determining if a voter is likely or not likely to vote. The 2008 presidential
election is a case study. The only thing that makes it different is the fact that it include a nominee

Stereotypes In Sports
For most Americans, sports are the topics of conversations daily. Whether an athlete is thinking
about an important practice they have later that evening, or a fan is discussing the big game from
last night, sports play an important role in impacting lives. Lewis Lapham claims sports serve as
much more than just games, are unlike any other business in the United States, and deliver
illusions of perfect innocence. I support Lapham s ideas saying that sports provide falsehoods of
hope, eternal glory, and relief, and that people are often blind to these deceptions.
According to Lapham, sports promise positive abstractions like innocence, hope, and good
overcoming evil. However, sports fans are oblivious to these illusional unkept promises. ... Show

For many players, participation in their sports offers an escape from these stresses. They are able
to leave behind the responsibilities at home and give it their all out on the field. Athletes feel great
levels of euphoria while competing because sports offer them a safe haven from reality. To Ken
Skates, a Permian High School alumni, football was always something to fall back on. He states,
I get out to the football field, and everything wipes clear in my mind (Bissinger 329.) Like

Allusions In The Bible
In today s world it is difficult to read any piece of literature that has not been at least minorly
impacted by a piece of literature that has come before it. In fact, many stories published today
incorporate elements of past works or reference them directly in a literary device known as
allusion. One of the most commonly alluded to literary works is the Christian Bible, one of the
oldest books to be published in the common era. Because the Bible is often alluded to in other
literary works, it has been analyzed by countless scholars in many different ways. The most
important way, that is, the way in which Norman W. Jones analyzes the Bible is in a literary
manner. Because of this, this review will focus on Jones s literary connections and the... Show more

He asserts that the Bible is a literary work that is meant to be interacted with in a different way
than most other books, and that that is what leads to the Bible having so many different ways of
being interpreted and understood in various works. He uses many examples of Shakespeare to
display his ideas about reception, explaining the historical differences and why biblical allusions
and interpretations in Shakespeare s time, and the time of John Milton and his classic Paradise
Lost, would have been received differently from how they are received now. He is constantly
reminding the reader of the differences between the past and the present in order to show how
reception may have been different. His assertion that the Bible is so ingrained in our culture and
that we do not notice allusions because of this was one that made the lack of biblical literacy
understandable. The idea of the Messiah coming to die on the cross and sacrificing himself for
all of humanity is one that many people are brought up with in the present day. Because of this,
the idea of a character sacrificing themself for the greater good or to protect their friends is not a
novel idea to us in the present. In fact, it may even be considered an overused trope or plot
device. It is almost cliched and not original in any way. We are so desensitized to this basic Bible
inspired plot that we do not even realize that that is where it has come from. While I did agree
with Jones s argument about this, I also felt that when a book uses the trope in the right way, like
in Harry Potter where Harry sacrifices himself not just for his friends, but for the safety of the
entire wizarding world and muggle world s combined, the biblical allusion becomes abundantly

Descartes Second Meditation Analysis
Descartes second meditation begins by summarising his efforts in the first. Having concluded that:
all sensory perceptions are unreliable, experiences are doubtful and reasoning is also distrusted.
Descartes then reviews his intentions of finding his Archimedean point a piece of indubitable
knowledge that could withstand the hyperbolic doubt and scepticism established in the First
Meditation. Descartes identifies this indubitable point, that is immune to sceptical doubt, as his
existence, that I am, I exist, must be true whenever I think or exert it. (pg.4) This proposition does
not derive from sensory information nor from the external world and is why Descartes believes
this to be the first absolutely certain piece of knowledge. Descartes

Social work Law
This assignment will explain the reason for subdivisions into specialism within the variety of
social work settings, and then go on to look at some key pieces of legislation and examine how
they relate to some specific areas of social work. It will consider the use of each piece of legislation
and its likely impact upon each area.
The debate between the opposing principles of genericism and specialism within social work has
been a significant issue in the last forty years. In the early days of social work (the 1950 s), it
was assumed that each area required specialized preparation, and in was not until the late 1960 s
that generic social work had major political support. The Sebohm Report (1968) was commissioned

The Cleveland Inquiry also highlighted the issue that there appeared to be limited avenues of
redress, with few appeal possibilities. Children could be kept in care for some considerable time
without anyone having to justify to the courts why they should be, and the legal system generally
appeared to be weighted against parents. The Butler Sloss Inquiry (DHSS 1988) promoted the idea
that the law needed to be clearer in establishing boundaries between parents, children and social
workers. It also emphasized that the child should be the primary focus of the laws concern.
Consequently parliament passed the Children Act in 1989, with the latest amendment made in
2004. Eileen Munro states that the Act seeks to balance the conflicting needs to protect children
from family abuse and to protect families from over intrusion by state agencies (2007). Two of
the key sections of the Act used by professionals working in child protection are sections 17 and
47. Section 17 defines a child in need and sets out the local authorities duty to help children in
need, and section 47 sets out the local authorities duty to investigate in relation to protecting a
child from abuse and neglect. It should be noted that in practice, the decision on whether to
classify a referral as a section 17 or section 47 is very challenging. There have been cases such as
that of Victoria Climbie where despite the law and procedures in place, systems went badly wrong.

The First Amendment Of The Fourth Amendment
Protection against unreasonable search and seizures is like information on what is in our food. It is
our right as Americans to have it. When the Constitution was written in 1787, only nine of the
thirteen colonies signed it. Ever since 1789, the Bill of Rights which includes the first ten
amendments have been a part of the Constitution. The citizens did not want the government to be
able to enter their homes whenever they felt the need to, thus Amendment four was born. According
to the National Archives, Amendment four is: The right of the people to be secure in their persons,
houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and
no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and
particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. This means
that police officers cannot enter someone s house or search someone s things without a warrant, and
the warrant must be for a good reason. There have been many changes involving this amendment
due to many modern things that have been invented since the amendment was first written, for
example, cell phones and automobiles. These modern effects cause us to reassess the fourth
amendment and what it means. According to The Foundation for Economic Education, James
Otis, who was an advocate for Amendment four stated, A man s house is his castle; and whilst he
is quiet, he is as well guarded as a prince in his castle.

Estrogen Receptors Essay
Estrogen receptors: Estrogens act via two types of receptors (ERО± and ERОІ), which are
members of a large super family of proteins that function as ligand activated transcription factors
(Katzenellenbogen and Katzenellenbogen, 1996). Both receptors have direct differentiative
influences on reproductive organs and have similar binding affinity to estradiol (Kuiper et al., 1997;
Drummond et al., 1999). Although, there are significant amino aciddifferences in the regions of
these receptors that would be expected to influence transcriptional activity (Hall and McDonnell,
1999). More recently, two Estrogen Related Receptors, (ERRО±/ERR1) and (ERRОІ/ERR2) have
also been characterized.

Estrogen signaling is selectively stimulated or inhibited depending upon a balance between ERО±
and ERОІ activities in target organs. ERs have five distinct regions (Skafar and Zhao, 2008).
These distinct regions correspond to functional and structural units called domain (Fig. 1). The N
terminal of the A and B domains are highly conserved only between chicken and human estrogen
receptors, but this distinction is much less clear in the other steroid Receptors. Therefore, region A
and B are combined into A/B region in most cases. This region is a modulatory region and it is the
most variable both in size and sequence. The A/B domain consists of Activation Function 1 (AF1),
which contributes to the transcriptional activity of ERs and is an

Femoroacetabular Impingement Research Paper
Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) is a condition where the bones of the acetabulum are
abnormally shaped, making them not fit together properly. This can be due to irregular growths of
the femur and or the iliac spine. This abnormality, then causes the hip bones to rub together, leading
to damage within the joint. There are three types of FAI: pincer, cam and combined impingement.
Pincer impingement occurs because of an extra bony growth that extends over the normal rim of
the acetabulum. Conversely, cam impingement is formed when the femoral head is not round and
cannot rotate smoothly inside the acetabulum. Combined impingement is a combination of pincer
and cam (Figure 1). The causes of FAI typically relate to abnormal formation of the... Show more

King Congo King Analysis
King Leopold set his focus on the Congo because he wanted to rule a colony of his own,
something bigger than just little old Belgium, and the Congo provided that. It had waterways
that connected the land, as well as people that he could use as slaves. A book that he had read
titled Java, or How to Manage a Colony had sparked Leopold s interest for a colony of his own
(Hochschild, p. 37). According to the quote, In the mid 1870s, sub Saharan Africawas a logical place
for an aspiring colonialist to look...about 80% of the entire land area of Africa was still under
indigenous rulers. It was ripe for conquest or, as Leopold was now learning to say, for protection
(Hochschild, p. 42), this land was an opportunity for Leopold to finally build a colony; especially
after Stanley had found the CongoRiver during an expedition. Leopold s purpose was shaped by a
desire not only for money but for power (Hochschild, p. 39). The Congo s resources were rubber
and ivory, ivory was made into false teeth, or piano pieces, among other things and this produced
a lot of profits once sold. However, the profits for rubber were much higher than that of ivory.
The land itself provides the power that Leopold wanted. Leopold was successful in the sense that
he did become the ruler of the Congo, he did gain profits out it, he did have slaves that built
railways, as well as an army made majority of its own people, the natives. Leopold failed in the
sense that he thought the truth would never come to

Nothing Can Be Good or Evil in Itself
Truth, beauty, and goodness are not eternal, objective realities which man discovers, but are the
creative products of the human mind as it exercises its will to power . In other words, man is a
creator of values. (Nietzsche) So what is good and evil, but that defined by man and therefore a
purely subjective concept. Could we, society, have one without the other? By determining what is
good, we in turn determine what is evil. How do we know what they are; that is if they really
exist? One must first try to define what good and evil are before attempting to question their
existence.

His actions were good, not just because they were intended to be good for the whole society, but
because society viewed them as being for the good.
Good must also be addressed in terms not related to human actions. In the eyes of our society, a
flower would be undoubtedly considered good, or a symbol of good. However, there is nothing
in a flower that makes it good, other than its ability to be pleasing to society. The flower does not
have the ability to make an overt decision to cause evil; therefore we view it as being good. Of
course, Websters dictionary doesn t quite cover this concept of good and tends to cause some
confusion when addressing it.
So, what is evil? Is it Hitler s near annihilation of the Jewish people during World War II or the
senseless massacre at Ti enneman Square on mainland China? Again we turn to Webster s
dictionary, which states evil as causing distress or harm, a source of sorrow, and the fact of
suffering, misfortune, and wrongdoing. (Merriam Webster) Evil would be any intention to cause an
undesirable effect upon one s self or on another person. So by saying that the intentions of a person
are not to cause good we automatically assume that they are out to cause evil.
For instance, religious and political leaders of Dr. Martin Luther King s time resisted all efforts on

rapidly improving Anders Lee to forge a line that combined for 75 goals, 31% of the team s
overall production, and 174 points. This year, through 13 games, it s even higher at 48%.
He ll regress , they said. He will come back down to earth and be the player he s always been

The talk in the off season was that Jordan Eberle was going to slide into that spot on the right wing
and Bailey would never put up the same numbers without the captain to pad his statistics. Well,
Bailey did just fine on his own, producing seven points in 8 ВЅ games prior to the reunion. And
Eberle has looked fantastic on his own as well, combining with up and coming Mathew Barzal and
a rejuvenated Andrew Ladd to form a powerful second unit.
Sometimes, you just mesh well with certain guys. Obviously, when you got Johnny (Tavares)
down the middle, he s such a threat at all times and Anders brings a great element to the line,
doing all the dirty work. Bailey said when I asked him about the remarkable chemistry. I think it
just works. It s been fun to be back with those guys and we hope to continue this success .
Scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent next summer, Josh is coming off a five year, $16
million dollar deal he signed in 2013. At a cap hit of only $3.3 million, that is sure to go up in
the NHL s current financial environment, not to mention he has positioned himself well for a
hefty raise, increasing his point per game average from an average of 0.49 to 0.68 last year to
current 1.23 over the course of the deal. If history is any indication, I wouldn t expect anything in
terms of an extension to be discussed or solved any time soon, but that

Research Paper On Safe Sex
Whenever we hear and/or talk about HIV/AIDS, the number one prevalence of the disease is
practicing safe sex. Many homosexual males, in the U.S., contract this disease because of possible
promiscuity, sexual intercourse without condoms, and the anatomical sense of how the virus is
transmitted. Statistics have been lower due to educating the importance of being tested and safe
sex. However, the epidemic of HIV/AIDSis at large in various parts of Africaand Asia. Certain
cultural practices that may contribute to this epidemic is the practice of polygamy. Many men will
have multiple wives and sexual partners throughout their life. Some of these partners include
prostitutes.
After researching through articles, some statistics suggest that prostitutes will have about a hundred
partners within the year. Of those sexual partners may include drug usage (sharing needles) and

One example is Johannesberg, South Africa and Botswana. Many men work into the mines and
spend the nights in the cities. When they are away from their families, they live up to the urban
lifestyle and engage promiscuous sex with prostitutes. With unsafe sex occurring, the spread of the
disease rose. The men would return to their wives where the wives would contract the disease and
possibly spread it their newborn offspring.
Surveys and questionnaires have been discussed with residents of these countries. Many admit to
having multiple partners but still using condoms majority of the time. Even when using condoms,
there is still 10 percent chance of contracting the disease due to misuse and human error. Some only
use condoms with a sex partner and/or prostitute. Others will initially use it with a partner but stop
during the relationship because of a mutual trust between the two. All of these scenarios contribute
to the rise of HIV/AIDS in

Titus Andronicus Revenge Quotes
The creator of Titus Andronicus is William Shakespeare. The subject I pick that identifies with
current circumstances is revenge. Revenge is the activity of incurring hurt or mischief on
somebody for a harm or wrong endured at their hands. The literary text I will use to examine the
content is personification. The reason personification is significant in the play is on account of
Tamora suspected that Titus was insane and came to visit him dressed as revenge. The reason I
chose revenge as the theme I feel relates to modern day situations is because, in the beginning of
the play Titus slaughters Tamora s child and when Titus figures out who assaulted Lavinia. The
things Tamora does to get vengeance on Titus for murdering her child, and what Titus does to the
young men who assaulted his little girl Lavinia. The result of revenge in the play is everybody
winding up dead with the exception of Titus child Lucius. I do believe that contrasts with current
vengeance basically in light of the fact that how everything happened except it likewise is relying
upon the circumstance that you are in, yet I don t think you would have anybody cooking
individuals and serving them to their guardians. That is just over the top.... Show more content on

Tamora continues to make Titus reality a horrible experience and she covertly plots revenge on
Titus for murdering her child. Tamora convinces her children, Demetrius and Chiron, to execute
Bassianus, throw his body in a pit and assault Titus daughter, Lavinia. After the assault, Demetrius
and Chiron remove Lavinia s tongue and slash off her hands so she can t reveal her attackers
verbally or in writing. At that point Tamora helps Aaron, a brilliant mastermind, frame Titus
children, Quintus and Martius, for the homicide of Bassianus they are then sentenced to

Solar Cell Processing And Fabrication
Abstract Solar cells have long been regarded as the most promising choice for the development of
cost effective and reliable energy. This paper reviews recent progress and challenges in the
development of solar cell processing and fabrication. The comparison of various solar technologies
and future scope for this are briefly reviewed. Next, the issues and challenges in light trapping and
the nature of textured interface, quality of the active layer material and antireflection coatings are
detailed.
Index Terms Fabrication, Solar cell technology, Crystalline silicon
I. INTRODUCTION
As the world is suffering from an ever diminishing stock of fossil fuels and serious pollution
being caused by fuels, solar energy has become the most promising solution to the global energy
crisis. Among various methods for generating energy from the sun, solar cells are an effective
approach for converting solar energy into electrical energy for regular use. There is a wide range
of research activities around the world that has demonstrated the efficiency potential of crystalline
silicon cells. Most of the research studies has inferred, both theoretically and practically, that thin
crystalline silicon cells can have low manufacturing costs while not compromising on reasonable
efficiencies. Many researchers have attempted to study the impact of wafer thickness on the
performance of crystalline silicon cells, and the best efficiencies on wafers with thickness under
200Вµm are typically in the range

Analysis Of Disney s Disney
Portfolio Project: Disney Gregory John Pico AMU Disney in other Countries Each country has
differences with how their culture plays a factor on how they do business. Rather it is by certain
topics being discussed or a certain way people greet one another. When examining the cultural
charts of both France and China on http://geert hofstede.com , a U.S. manager can get an idea on
how their behavior may need to be modified when communicating with associates from France or
China. For example, France scored a 68 on power distance, meaning that children are raised to be
dependent on their parents, as well as teachers and to their superiors in the work environment (geert

The Chinese Communist government has complete power over the legislation, economic and
cultural institutions. While western economies have governments that promote transparency for
doing business, China s Communist Party s rules and regulations have made transparency difficult
(Jayaraman, 2009). Large manufacturing companies can come under various and random
regulations and bureaucracies, and the Chinese promotes a form of social networking called
guanxiwang, where guanxi is the relationship between the individual and the entities of the network
(Jayaraman, 2009). With the heavy amount of corruption and the lack of transparency the
guanxiwang or the social network with connections with people from the communist party can help
western businesses avoid red tape and bureaucracy. The IMF told the international business world
that China was doing fine in their transition to a new normal. With the IMF stating that the country
was moving towards a slower but safer and more sustainable growth (Porter, 2015). With the risk
coming from the Chinese government and their push for more economic reform might prove to be
insufficient (Porter, 2015). The leaders in Beijing have stated that if there is further economic
change it will lead to inevitably political instability, which doesn t lead to the strongest incentive for
government reform. Laws, Corruption and Ethics Though Disney does do business in multiple

The Life of Galileo
The Battle For Truth
Throughout the course of history, from era to era, mankind has been on a continuous attempt to
perpetuate what they perceive as the truth; and in doing so, embark on a quest to find their true
identity and place in life. One must realize that the common theme in all literature is the search for
identity and belonging. Bertolt Brecht, author of The Life of Galileo, effectively uses the
developing character Galileo Galilei to portray a strong message; a message which five hundred
years after the fact has still not been completely comprehended. Through Galileo s continuous battle
with the Church in prevailing his work, Brecht is telling the readers that in any one man s attempt
to propagate the truth, whether it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

centre, the image of God,.... (Brecht 40) LITTLE MONK: ...You ve won. GALILEO: It has won!
Not me, reason has won! (Brecht 40)
After the Old Cardinal implicitly tells Galileo that his research and teachings symbolize atheism,
he is approached by Clavius whom tells Galileo that he is right and that he is invited to Rome to
show his research. It is interesting to see Galileo s response in crediting reason for his
achievement. It is here where the reader sees Galileo s thoughts and perceptions on life; that science
and its achievements should not only be credited to the founder yet the society that encourages
these findings; that the progress of human kind as a whole should be the objective of inventions.
Using Galileo, Brecht continuously stresses these points throughout the play and is making it clear
that he is against the notion of the discouragement of ideas, inventions, and thinking. Although
external forces such as the church and other characters do not influence Galileo s personal belief,
there are also internal forces, such as the battle against self, that also influence Galileo s perception
on both his work and human kind. It is through his experiences with Andrea, the young protГ©gГ©
of Galileo, that we see the character of Galileo at the beginning of the play. In

Field Trip Reflection
Reflection Paper I went to Starbucks for my Field Trip and prior to this trip, I made a list of
things that I would like to particularly observe relating to American culture/values. Some ideas
included interactions between American people, gender differences as well as employees attitude. I
wanted to examine the ways in which Americans behave around people or their behavior towards
other people. Before the field trip, I had a few thoughts/assumptions/beliefs about Americans such
as I thought Americans were more hostile and reserved, they usually keep to themselves. However,
my assumptions changed after the field trip which will be explained later. I was excited and
intrigued to learn about American culture/values during my field trip and... Show more content on

Some even started up conversations with the stranger next to them like How has your day
been? or the line s so long! . This suggest goodness of humanity in American values. The
politeness, courtesy and friendliness of people showed me American s authentic/genuine spirit.
It made them look more likable and accommodating. Furthermore, I observed the interactions
between male and female and how it relates to gender differences. I noticed that majority of men
were a gentlemen and have manner. For example, a few men would let women go ahead of them
in line when they both arrived simultaneously, being complete strangers. This showed me
equality in society such as how men treat women with care and as well as goodness of humanity.
This could also be form of norm in society in American values as a gentlemen courtesy and
politeness. It is our expected perception of masculinity what society deems as appropriate
behavior for a man . The attitudes of the employees particularly put a smile on my face. They were
hardworking, took orders down politely and efficiently, ensuring that my order was perfect. They
had manners and gave me a positive/happy vibe. They made sure to work fast and efficiently, trying
their best to not hold up the queue. They were quick in making their customers coffees and this
showed me the achievement, work and

  • 3. The Female Heroine In The 1970 s Until the 1970 s, female heroines were almost unheard of in movies or television shows. Then, the science fiction genre gained popularity and Star Wars followed. Men and women alike were interested in the films and story. Princess Leia was not the generic damsel in distress, but instead was a quick thinking soldier for the rebel forces. Soon, fans and authors began to fill in the gaps before, between, and after the movies. Female fans went from having just Princess Leia and a few female side characters to many characters in the written expanded universe. During this time, the prequel movies were announced, and many fans were at first excited and then disappointed. The newer movies did not live up to the original trilogy. These very short films in black and white which involved two characters falling in love. They would only last around 7 minutes. Film makers described love films being about desire and sex. In the 1920 s to 50 s, romantic films began to portray more painful love. The story line would involve two people who didn t get on. They would then fall in love more towards the end. Over the years the romantic genre has been toyed with, trying to make films to suit a wider ranged audience. This is how more sub genres of romantic films were gradually produced. Once the Eskimos found their place of land that they likes and thought would be a good fit they started to settle. They had to look for sources of food, water, and flat land to build shelter. In their territory they would not have to worry about other tribes or cowboys trying to take their land. Alaska is mostly cold and snowy terrain. • 8. To What Extent Is Propaganda To Deceive People In Animal... A belief is something that someone chooses to agree with because he thinks it is right. He has his own beliefs because he makes his own decisions. However, some people think that people can influence each others decisions, and although this is true, an influence is not completely taking over what someone believes in. For example, Eric Hoffer once said, Propaganda does not deceive people; it merely helps them to deceive themselves. Propaganda, biased news, will always influence people, but it does not have enough power to gain total control of someone s beliefs. People change their minds and let other people alter their thoughts, but it is still that same person making his own decisions. As portrayed in the novel Animal Farm by George Orwell,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The quote by Eric Hoffer, Propaganda does not deceive people; it merely helps them to deceive themselves, means that when someone is introduced to something biased, he chooses to believe it which harms himself. For example, when children see a toy that looks pretty and fun, they immediately want that toy. The producers of the toy make the toy look appealing to children so their parents would buy it for them even if the toy does not work. The children want the pretty toy so they trick themselves into thinking it will fun to play with because of its appearance, but if it does not work, it is the customer s fault for believing that the toy was worth buying. Another example is seeing ads on television. They always show the beneficial effects of something but they do not show what can go wrong. This makes the audience want to buy the product because they think it is perfect and does not have any bad effects. The audience buys the product thinking it will only be a benefit to them, when they probably wasted their money on a useless product. The people who decided to buy this made their own decision to buy it and this is what the quote is saying. For instance, it is highly conceivable for voters to agree on international and security issues with one candidate and agree on economic issues with the other candidate at the same time. I can say that children who are raised in a single family home have been looked at as being different for many years. Being raised by only one parent seems hard or even impossible to many, yet over time it has become more of the norm. Throughout society today, many children have grown up to become mentally stable and successful whether they had one or two parents to help navigate them on the road of life. Where the problem lies is in the difference of children raised by single parents versus children raised by both a mother and a father. This topic has become a very thought provoking argument with various questions being asked such as; Does a child need both parents? Should the government provide help or services for single parents? What role do step parents and step siblings play? People need to understand that to properly raise a child, they should not focus on the structure of the family, but should be focused on the values and processes that are taught while their children grow and mature. Children of a single parent household can continually grow and excel just as well as children with a two parent household. Some people think that children can only grow to their full potential by being raised by both a mother and a father. • 24. Stereotypes In Sports For most Americans, sports are the topics of conversations daily. Whether an athlete is thinking about an important practice they have later that evening, or a fan is discussing the big game from last night, sports play an important role in impacting lives. Lewis Lapham claims sports serve as much more than just games, are unlike any other business in the United States, and deliver illusions of perfect innocence. I support Lapham s ideas saying that sports provide falsehoods of hope, eternal glory, and relief, and that people are often blind to these deceptions. According to Lapham, sports promise positive abstractions like innocence, hope, and good overcoming evil. However, sports fans are oblivious to these illusional unkept promises. ... They are able to leave behind the responsibilities at home and give it their all out on the field. In fact, many stories published today incorporate elements of past works or reference them directly in a literary device known as allusion. One of the most commonly alluded to literary works is the Christian Bible, one of the oldest books to be published in the common era. Because the Bible is often alluded to in other literary works, it has been analyzed by countless scholars in many different ways. The most important way, that is, the way in which Norman W. Jones analyzes the Bible is in a literary manner. Because of this, this review will focus on Jones s literary connections and the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He asserts that the Bible is a literary work that is meant to be interacted with in a different way than most other books, and that that is what leads to the Bible having so many different ways of being interpreted and understood in various works. He uses many examples of Shakespeare to display his ideas about reception, explaining the historical differences and why biblical allusions and interpretations in Shakespeare s time, and the time of John Milton and his classic Paradise Lost, would have been received differently from how they are received now. He is constantly reminding the reader of the differences between the past and the present in order to show how reception may have been different. His assertion that the Bible is so ingrained in our culture and that we do not notice allusions because of this was one that made the lack of biblical literacy understandable. The idea of the Messiah coming to die on the cross and sacrificing himself for all of humanity is one that many people are brought up with in the present day. Because of this, the idea of a character sacrificing themself for the greater good or to protect their friends is not a novel idea to us in the present. In fact, it may even be considered an overused trope or plot device. It is almost cliched and not original in any way. We are so desensitized to this basic Bible inspired plot that we do not even realize that that is where it has come from. While I did agree with Jones s argument about this, I also felt that when a book uses the trope in the right way, like in Harry Potter where Harry sacrifices himself not just for his friends, but for the safety of the entire wizarding world and muggle world s combined, the biblical allusion becomes abundantly ... The Butler Sloss Inquiry (DHSS 1988) promoted the idea that the law needed to be clearer in establishing boundaries between parents, children and social workers. It also emphasized that the child should be the primary focus of the laws concern. Consequently parliament passed the Children Act in 1989, with the latest amendment made in 2004. Eileen Munro states that the Act seeks to balance the conflicting needs to protect children from family abuse and to protect families from over intrusion by state agencies (2007). Two of the key sections of the Act used by professionals working in child protection are sections 17 and 47. Section 17 defines a child in need and sets out the local authorities duty to help children in need, and section 47 sets out the local authorities duty to investigate in relation to protecting a child from abuse and neglect. When the Constitution was written in 1787, only nine of the thirteen colonies signed it. Ever since 1789, the Bill of Rights which includes the first ten amendments have been a part of the Constitution. The citizens did not want the government to be able to enter their homes whenever they felt the need to, thus Amendment four was born. According to the National Archives, Amendment four is: The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. This means that police officers cannot enter someone s house or search someone s things without a warrant, and the warrant must be for a good reason. There have been many changes involving this amendment due to many modern things that have been invented since the amendment was first written, for example, cell phones and automobiles. These modern effects cause us to reassess the fourth amendment and what it means. Estrogen Receptors Essay Estrogen receptors: Estrogens act via two types of receptors (ERО± and ERОІ), which are members of a large super family of proteins that function as ligand activated transcription factors (Katzenellenbogen and Katzenellenbogen, 1996). Both receptors have direct differentiative influences on reproductive organs and have similar binding affinity to estradiol (Kuiper et al., 1997; Drummond et al., 1999). Although, there are significant amino aciddifferences in the regions of these receptors that would be expected to influence transcriptional activity (Hall and McDonnell, 1999). There are three types of FAI: pincer, cam and combined impingement. Pincer impingement occurs because of an extra bony growth that extends over the normal rim of the acetabulum. However, there is nothing in a flower that makes it good, other than its ability to be pleasing to society. Index Terms Fabrication, Solar cell technology, Crystalline silicon I. INTRODUCTION As the world is suffering from an ever diminishing stock of fossil fuels and serious pollution being caused by fuels, solar energy has become the most promising solution to the global energy crisis. Among various methods for generating energy from the sun, solar cells are an effective approach for converting solar energy into electrical energy for regular use. There is a wide range of research activities around the world that has demonstrated the efficiency potential of crystalline silicon cells. Most of the research studies has inferred, both theoretically and practically, that thin crystalline silicon cells can have low manufacturing costs while not compromising on reasonable efficiencies. Many researchers have attempted to study the impact of wafer thickness on the performance of crystalline silicon cells, and the best efficiencies on wafers with thickness under 200Вµm are typically in the range ... Analysis Of Disney s Disney Portfolio Project: Disney Gregory John Pico AMU Disney in other Countries Each country has differences with how their culture plays a factor on how they do business. Rather it is by certain topics being discussed or a certain way people greet one another. When examining the cultural charts of both France and China on http://geert hofstede.com , a U.S. manager can get an idea on how their behavior may need to be modified when communicating with associates from France or China. For example, France scored a 68 on power distance, meaning that children are raised to be dependent on their parents, as well as teachers and to their superiors in the work environment (geert hofstede, 2014). It is a society where inequality is fairly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Chinese Communist government has complete power over the legislation, economic and cultural institutions. While western economies have governments that promote transparency for doing business, China s Communist Party s rules and regulations have made transparency difficult (Jayaraman, 2009). Large manufacturing companies can come under various and random regulations and bureaucracies, and the Chinese promotes a form of social networking called guanxiwang, where guanxi is the relationship between the individual and the entities of the network (Jayaraman, 2009). With the heavy amount of corruption and the lack of transparency the guanxiwang or the social network with connections with people from the communist party can help western businesses avoid red tape and bureaucracy. The IMF told the international business world that China was doing fine in their transition to a new normal. With the IMF stating that the country was moving towards a slower but safer and more sustainable growth (Porter, 2015). With the risk coming from the Chinese government and their push for more economic reform might prove to be insufficient (Porter, 2015). The leaders in Beijing have stated that if there is further economic change it will lead to inevitably political instability, which doesn t lead to the strongest incentive for government reform. The Life of Galileo The Battle For Truth Throughout the course of history, from era to era, mankind has been on a continuous attempt to perpetuate what they perceive as the truth; and in doing so, embark on a quest to find their true identity and place in life. One must realize that the common theme in all literature is the search for identity and belonging. Bertolt Brecht, author of The Life of Galileo, effectively uses the developing character Galileo Galilei to portray a strong message; a message which five hundred years after the fact has still not been completely comprehended. Through Galileo s continuous battle with the Church in prevailing his work, Brecht is telling the readers that in any one man s attempt to propagate the truth, whether it ... (Brecht 40) LITTLE MONK: ...You ve won. GALILEO: It has won! Not me, reason has won! (Brecht 40) After the Old Cardinal implicitly tells Galileo that his research and teachings symbolize atheism, he is approached by Clavius whom tells Galileo that he is right and that he is invited to Rome to show his research. It is interesting to see Galileo s response in crediting reason for his achievement. It is here where the reader sees Galileo s thoughts and perceptions on life; that science and its achievements should not only be credited to the founder yet the society that encourages these findings; that the progress of human kind as a whole should be the objective of inventions. Using Galileo, Brecht continuously stresses these points throughout the play and is making it clear that he is against the notion of the discouragement of ideas, inventions, and thinking. Although external forces such as the church and other characters do not influence Galileo s personal belief, there are also internal forces, such as the battle against self, that also influence Galileo s perception on both his work and human kind. It is through his experiences with Andrea, the young protГ©gГ© of Galileo, that we see the character of Galileo at the beginning of the play. In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Field Trip Reflection Reflection Paper I went to Starbucks for my Field Trip and prior to this trip, I made a list of things that I would like to particularly observe relating to American culture/values. Some ideas included interactions between American people, gender differences as well as employees attitude. I wanted to examine the ways in which Americans behave around people or their behavior towards other people. Before the field trip, I had a few thoughts/assumptions/beliefs about Americans such as I thought Americans were more hostile and reserved, they usually keep to themselves. However, my assumptions changed after the field trip which will be explained later. I was excited and intrigued to learn about American culture/values during my field trip and... This suggest goodness of humanity in American values. The politeness, courtesy and friendliness of people showed me American s authentic/genuine spirit. It made them look more likable and accommodating. Furthermore, I observed the interactions between male and female and how it relates to gender differences. I noticed that majority of men were a gentlemen and have manner. For example, a few men would let women go ahead of them in line when they both arrived simultaneously, being complete strangers. This showed me equality in society such as how men treat women with care and as well as goodness of humanity. This could also be form of norm in society in American values as a gentlemen courtesy and politeness. It is our expected perception of masculinity what society deems as appropriate behavior for a man . The attitudes of the employees particularly put a smile on my face. They were hardworking, took orders down politely and efficiently, ensuring that my order was perfect. They had manners and gave me a positive/happy vibe. They made sure to work fast and efficiently, trying their best to not hold up the queue. They were quick in making their customers coffees and this showed me the achievement, work and ...
