The document discusses the evaluation of a promotional video for tap water. It was intended to promote tap water and show its benefits over bottled water. While filming was challenging due to rain, the group was able to achieve their goals. Areas for improvement included editing skills, shortening the length, and making the website and final title more creative. Moving forward, the idea could be developed by shooting at a gym to show how water fuels activity and having actors wear branded clothing.
2. The intended purpose and meaning/atmosphere
• The intended purpose of our advert was to promote tap water, to show to our audience how vital it is in
many people’s lives and how you can save money by taking easy route of using refillable plastics bottles
every time you drink water.
• The meaning was quite simple as if more people decided to take this route then that’ll be more beneficial as;
there would be less litter around, save money on buying water bottles from the shop and more time
consuming – as you would save time by using refillable bottles. Furthermore, the environment would be
cleaner more eco- friendly.
• The atmosphere that we intended to create was a eco-friendly one.
• I think as a group we did achieve all of our intentions as everyone was aware that we promoted tap water
and we done it successfully. Moreover, I think we gave a understanding message to my fellow peers and
other audiences of what we were trying to put across with our short advert and the effects of using
refillable plastics bottles. The response that we got was quite positive as most of them agree with the
whole idea that we can be more eco-friendly and help the environment by taking this route.

3. Choices made during production
• We didn’t really have to make many alterations during the production of shooting as we had one thing
in mind and we stuck to that. We chose to do it this way because we didn’t want to over do it by
confusing ourselves or making decisions that didn’t match our vision, etc. However, when editing we
made many alterations as the camera quality weren’t at its best so we had to do our best to
overturn that and produce something spectacular. As it was raining on the day that we were filming
we had to cope with the conditions really well in order to get the best shots that we could. When in
the procedure of editing we figured out that a few shots/scenes weren’t up to our standards as it
either didn’t look good on camera or was ruined by the rain, so we decided to reshoot and change
that up a bit. Other than that we didn’t have any problems as all of my group members were always
present and on task.
4. What worked well?
• Thankfully, I can take many positives throughout this project as I think that my group was successful
both verbally and visually. I though that we did well during editing as we used a lot of different
camera shots, added soundtrack and voiceovers which made the advert even more better and gave
that unique touch. Also, what worked well was the fact that we created a separate scene for our
logo to promote it show people how its look and links to our whole idea. Furthermore, the good use
of camera shots also tell us that we understood the brief and the whole task as we showed the
creative side of us and what we could achieve with just a camera. This was especially a positive as
the whole purpose of this task was to capture as much as different camera shots as possible to show
the variation and creativeness. Overall, I think that we worked well as a group and went forward like
a unit!
5. Areas for improvement
• I think that we have few areas were we could improve on. For example, we could possibly improve our
editing skills and add other editing transitions such as cross-fading. Moreover, we should look to cut
down on time as my fellow peers thought that it was a bit over time for an advert. Additionally,
instead of putting the company's phone number on display we could’ve created a website and put
that instead to make it look more creative and realistic. In addition, we should’ve filmed the last
scene on a camera rather than on a phone as it looked different to the rest of the scenes and also
we could’ve made the final title card a bit more youthful and interesting (the logo).
6. Areas for development
• Although I am quite happy with the whole idea of promoting tap water, I think that there is still room
for development as what could be done to improve the idea is to possibly shoot at a gym as the
actors as are actually taking part in sport to show how vital fluid is and in this water, as they are
drinking it and gaining energy to strive them on. So basically to up our game we can make it real life
action and show the audience how everything is in reality. Also, this time the actors can possibly
wear the logo on their sports clothes to campaign and promote tap water which would look better
for the tap water company and for our selves as promoters.
