Onder Aslan outlines plans for an online magazine focused on football. They received positive feedback on initial ideas including a mind map and mood board combining football and film images. Football will be the main topic as it is their strong area of knowledge. The target audience is football fans, both male and female. The magazine will be hosted online and through apps to reach a global audience. It will provide information on football rules and history as well as player salaries. A production team will be needed to build the website and apps. There will be costs associated with development and printing promotional materials. Legal and ethical standards around accuracy, bias, copyright and advertising claims will be followed.
5. Account
• I had a very positive feedback on my initial ideas as it is simple and unique. I am really confident on the ideas that I came
up with. The topic's that I chose is football and film as I think those are my 2 strong areas that I know a lot about and I
enjoy the most. So to write about them would be a pleasure for me and it will be fun to do so. Moreover, I got good
feedback on my mind map and mood board as my fellow peers thought my ideas were creative and unique. Also, I think
that my ideas on my mind map are really useful and significant as they will get a lot of response because they are 2 big
fan favourites. On the other hand, on my mood board there's a combination of football pictures and still images from
famous films that I have watched. However, the idea that I chose to discount is film as football is my strong point and I
know a lot about it more than I know about the film industry. Also, I feel that there is more to talk about football than
film as there is more history about football than film. I haven't really made any specific changes to my original idea(s) as I
have one thing clear in mind and I am planning to achieve that. My final idea is to come up with a series of topics to talk,
write about that has happened or will happen in football.
• Target audience:
• Footballs fans – teenagers – I can relate to them.
• Both genders
• Platform:
• E-magazine – internet.
6. Logistics
• Achievable aims: my aim is to ensure people to know about the basics of football, the
rules and how footballers lifestyles plan out. Also, I plan to educate and inform people.
Furthermore, I plan to get feedback from my viewers/ audience to get their own thought
and opinion on the topic(s).
• Location considerations:
• filming at football grounds in London – west ham (in east London), Stamford bridge, white
hart lane and etc (not including the emirates).
• the location of this product will be on the internet and on apps as I plan to get response
and viewers all around the world because I feel that way it’ll determine whether I am
successful or not.
• Timeframe considerations: My product will be on the internet so there will not need to be
a timeframe as people will get to access it 24/7.
• Level of organisation required: To organise all this we will need to create a website so
that people can access it from all around the world.
7. Resources
• Availability of equipment: the equipment that I would need to create this website
is to have a PC/computer and software to pursue my idea of this whole journalism
blog about football.
• Create an app.
• To make it more effective I am planning to print/make vouchers/cards so that
people can access me by email or mobile.
• DSLR camera .
• Expertise/ production team/ personnel: I would require a production team to
create me a website and to make an app for my website as I will be doing other
stuff such as writing up my blogs and dealing with audience feedback. Moreover, I
would need a creative team to make a card/ voucher sort of type to advertise to
people for my website/firm.
8. PurposeTo People
• With the use of my website I plan to educate and inform people about the basics
of the footballing rules and references such as memorable scenes which are still
being talked about. I plan to educate them by giving facts and information about
the salary/wages of footballers, plus I plan to compare that to other jobs such as
soldiers and talk about why footballers get so much money compared to most
jobs around. Additionally, I plan to inform people by sharing and talking about the
things that have been going recently so that they are updated with news that is
significant and true.
9. Legal, moral and ethical issues
• The information that is written about our particular topic must not be false knowledge and
plus we mustn't make accusations or lies about people or company’s.Also, you need to
make sure that you are not biased as the whole point of these blogs are to get the opinions
of other people, but if people go against each other then there will be arguments and
negativity going on.This is because I hope to achieve equality and take positive feedback
from my blog as I want the thoughts of people and what they think of certain topic etc. In
addition, all the information needs to be my own and not copyright as there is restrictions
for copying information from other sources, plus it would be better and more unique to
come up with my own topics and problem’s that I can discuss and write about in my blog.
• In addition, the advertisements need to be true and full of details which may be suitable
and relevant e.g. my flyers.
• So any sort of advertisement or commercial will have to be 100% true.
10. Regulations
• Libel is when something that is written, that ruins someone’s reputation. Libel is
illegal and will lead to court action so I am going to ensure that I don’t go through
the stage where I am putting false information into my blog about peoples
personal lives.
• Ipso – they are ensure that the work done by journalists in newspapers and
magazines, is legal and ethical. I am going to achieve this by ensuring that all my
work is appropriate and useful.
11. Cost
• There will be a cost for my production team to create a website and apps from
software's so that will take a bit a of sum. Furthermore, my flyer/leaflets to print
will cost a bit of money (depending on the variation of how many copy's I am
going to make.
• Borrowing camera from college.
