2. Short of the week
This website contains a plethora of short films created
by a range of people with different abilities. The site
is extremely bold and modern, with its broad title
spaces and font. Each film is shown in several spaces,
the most up to date are shown on the home page, and
older films are categorised in their genres in the
"channel" link.
Every month a film is awarded, this film
then gets extra advertisement and
prime placement.
In the "News" tab the viewer of the site can find
out more about the individual films, the people
who work there and contest.
It is really easy and clear to put a short film on the site.
Overall the website is really well made as it embraces the arty nature of the independent films that are being
made, though its graphics, colours and designs.
3. Warp Films
Warp films is a independent British production company, who have
created some of the most
influential, inspirational, quintessentially British films.
At the top of the site is the navigation, latest, projects, about and
people, along with links to there Facebook, YouTube, twitter and
Instagram. There layout and style is similar to "short of the week" due
to the large pictures and moving images shown behind the title.
Each one of there films are shown below the most recent creation. the
consumer can drag the screen along to see the next automatically
playing trailer. This grabs the viewers attention, forcing them to watch
the trailer.
The site editor used "you've come to the wrong place" in the "about"
section on the site. This way of talking to possible customers has
become very popular on several sites we have visited, and we hope to
replicate this on our website. How it is worded almost disses movie
fans who are in to the mainstream, Hollywood blockbuster. Moving
image is shown behind the text to add excitement, and show off more
of there creations.
Warp have an extremely creative way of showing there work force.
Animated variations of themselves show their name and job roll.
Warp films website is really fluid as everything is linked and
connected, this is especially evident when looking at the graphics of
there logo and the texture of the backgrounds.
4. Many websites have opted for a new way of
speaking to costumers. Although this could be
perceived as unprofessional people want more
from there website and shopping experience.
Examples like this are easier to find on modern
companies with a young demographic.
