2. Welcome to 5th Grade
I am Mrs. Garner and I will be your
5th grade teacher. I completed my
Bachelor’s degree at Liberty University
and I am currently nearing completion
of my Master’s Degree through
Belhaven University . I am married
and I am a mother of 3 boys. We
attend Getwell Road United Methodist
Church and I absolutely love teaching
at a Christian School.
3. Classroom Routines and Procedures
• Entering the Classroom
Please enter the classroom and go
directly to your assigned seat. Please
do not run, jump, skip, hop , or slide
into my classroom. Go directly to
your assigned seat. Do not trade seats
or sit in another students seat. Begin
working on your morning work. If
your morning work is completed, you
may study for a quiz or test or review
your spelling and vocabulary words.
Attendance and Lunch Orders
When I come into the room, I
will begin taking attendance. Please
do not bring me any Chick Fila or
Pizza Money until I call for it. Things
seem to disappear on my desk so
please do not hand it to me until I ask
for it. Please have it ready in the
morning so that we can get the money
over to Ms. Allison quickly.
4. Classroom Routines and Procedures
• Restroom Breaks
Mrs. Lee and I have designed a
restroom schedule that does not
interrupt her class. Please make
sure you are taking advantage of
these restroom breaks. I will only
allow you to go to the restroom in
an extreme emergency. If you
have an emergency you may tell
me privately or raise your hand
with one finger up.
5. Classroom Routines and Procedures
• Behavior
Management
For each day that you
show me spectacular
behavior, you will
receive a sticker on our
purple sticker chart. At
the end of the 9 week
period, I will count up
all of your stickers and
determine your conduct
grade for your report
card.
Conduct Grades:
43-45 Stickers: E
40-42 Stickers: S
39-37 Stickers: U
36 and Below: N
Office Write Up: N
6. Classroom Routines and Procedures
• Supplies
I expect you to come to
class prepared. You need
to be certain that you have
everything you need before
class begins. You will not
be allowed to go to your
locker after class begins.
Pencil and Paper
You are expected to bring
your binder to class each day.
If you do not have a pencil or
run out of paper, I do have
extra that you are able to
borrow.
7. Classroom Routines and Procedures
• Noise Level
Our classroom is very close
in proximity to two other
classes. We must be
respectful at all times by
keeping our noise level
down. If you get too loud ,
I will ring a bell . If you
hear the bell, you must
immediately stop taking for
5 minutes.
Desk Organization
Lockers were installed
for us so that we can
keep our classroom
neat and orderly. I
expect you to use your
locker and keep all
items out of the aisle
and off of the floor.
8. Classroom Routines and Procedures
• Agenda Books
Please make sure you purchase
an agenda book from the office
if you haven’t already. These
agenda books are here to help
you keep track of your
assignments. Your quiz and
test schedule will be written on
the homework board in the
back of the classroom. Please
copy this into your agenda book
so that you and your parents
know what quizzes and tests to
study for.
9. Be Ready To Learn
• Please come into the classroom quietly and orderly and be ready to learn.
• You should check the board for any directions and have all materials ready.
As long as you follow all rules and procedures, we will have a fantastic year.
