a signed agenda.
• Your teacher reserves the right to
deny requests depending on
behavior, frequency, and time.
11. WATER ONLY
• You may drink water in
class. NO OTHER FOOD OR
DRINK IS ALLOWED.
• Clear water and water
bottles only.
12. • When you arrive, get your
notebook or folder and check
the board.
• Have a seat at the appropriate
area and begin working.
• If you are tardy, sign the tardy
list and begin working.
COMING INTO THE ROOM
13. • Your teacher dismisses you.
• Remain seated at your desk
or work area until dismissed
by your teacher. We NEVER
wait at the door for
dismissal.
TIME TO LEAVE
14. • Please come prepared with a pencil
each day.
• NO PENS IN MATH!
• If you need one, you may borrow one
from the pencil cup and return it at the
end of class. Don’t abuse this
privilege!
PENCIL POLICY
15. • NO TALKING.
• Listen for directions.
• For FIRE ALARMS we exit the back door,
turn left, and walk past the pavement to the
grassy area.
EMERGENCY ALARMS
16. • Gum IS allowed, however…
• If it is found on the bottoms of chairs or desks,
or on the floor, THERE WILL BE CLEANING DONE
BY THE ENTIRE CLASS. There will be random
checks.
• Be a good citizen-do not let it come out of your
mouth unless you are throwing it away in a trash
can.
GUM
17. • Cell phones are to be turned off
and put away.
• It is best to not even bring them
to class-keep them in your
backpack or locker!
CELL PHONES
18. • You will receive a “P” for
Progressing or “NP” for
not progressing based on
your progress monitoring
and work in class.
GRADING POLICY
19. SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS
• You are expected to behave EVEN BETTER
THAN YOU NORMALLY DO when a
substitute is in the classroom.
• Be welcoming and helpful and follow
the substitute’s directions.
• While I do my best to leave plans, Mrs.
Gates or another substitute is ultimately in
charge. What you do in class that day may
not be the way we normally do it in class.
• Please abide by their rules. The same
consequences still apply as if I were here.
20. SPEAKING IN CLASS
• Do not speak when the teacher
is speaking. Raise your hand
during lessons if you have a
question.
• But ask lots of questions and
offer solutions!
• This is a safe space. We will try
even if our answer is wrong.
• We WILL MAKE MISTAKES. That
is OK and we will keep trying.
22. Goals I have for you….
To have a well-organized and safe
working environment for all
students.
To show you that what you put into
your work is what you will get out of
it. With hard work and effort -
anything is possible.
To improve your skills fluency and
knowledge in Math.
