3. My name is Melanie Russell. I’m excited
to be your teacher this year! This is my
seventeenth year of teaching. I have six
years of experience teaching 2nd grade.
I received my bachelor’s degree in
elementary education from Delta State
University. I have a 17 year old
daughter, Laura Beth. She is a junior in
high school.

Each morning you get to class, there are procedures you need to follow:
1. Place your take-home folder and planner in the basket.
2. Put your book bag away.
3. Sharpen your pencils.
4. Begin your bell ringer.

8. Homework
Homework assignments are to be written in your
daily planner. Your homework should be returned
the next day in your daily take-home folder.
9. Grades
All graded papers will be sent home on Mondays in the graded paper
folder. There will be a sheet inside for parents to sign that they have
seen the papers. Folders should be returned to school the next day
with the graded papers.
