Some Famous Examples
Why I Chose IPC Media
My vision for Stereo Typed & how IPC matches this
Target Audience
IPC Media offers a wide spectrum of magazines, varying across almost every genre
available.
They’ve proven to be very successful in every area, entertaining an audience of
millions both online and in print form.
This means that IPC have no problem branching into another area, such as the target
audience for Stereo Typed – young Hip-Hop music fans.
This also means that IPC can conquer another section of the total market, as they
currently don’t produce anything for Hip-Hop fans.
A New Music Magazine?
Currently, IPC produces NME which is a music magazine targeted towards pop & rock
music fans across the UK.
It formally became a magazine in 1998 & currently has a circulation of 19,491 for
both print and digital versions of the magazine.
The online version of NME (NME.com) was launched in 1996 & is now the world’s
biggest standalone music site, with 7m users per month.
Stereo Typed
I believe that Stereo Typed would be
beneficial to IPC Media as they have
proven that they can be hugely successful
in the music industry and I think that they
can take the concept of NME and move it
into the Hip-Hop music genre, in the form
of Stereo Typed.
I also think that IPC would make the
Stereo Typed brand hugely successful as
they would be able to use their online
presence to make Stereo Typed popular
both in print & digital form as well as
online at www.stereotypedmag.com
Stereo Typed
My magazine would not be in
competition with any others at the
company as the target audience is
completely different to the others
and it’s a new brand, rather than
an already established one.
Finally, IPC have the knowledge
and experience to make Stereo
Typed successful which is why I
think they would be the ideal
publishing company for me.
