Moonshot thinking concept, the thoughts from Ellon Musk and Astro Teler. How we actually need to think not just how to make home run instead how we can make the ball into next state
Moonshot Thinking. How to disrupt your industry and beat the competition. Inspired by Google X and Peter Diamandis.
Moonshot thinking is shooting for the moon. Moonshots live in the gray area between audacious projects and pure science fiction; they are 10X improvement, not 10%.
Moonshot thinking aims for a 10x improvement over what currently exists, instead of a mere 10% gain. It address a huge problem, proposes a radical solution, and uses breakthrough technology to make it happen.

The document discusses business model innovation through recognizing patterns in product, customer, and revenue innovation. It provides examples of companies that innovated their business models by changing their products, finding new customer segments, or altering their revenue streams. Some of the revenue model patterns discussed include freemium, subscriptions, pay per use, and multi-sided platforms. The document advocates that the best innovators are good at pattern recognition and encourages recognizing patterns to enable quickly pivoting business models through experimentation.

Linda rising - the power of an agile mindsetMagneta AI
I‘ve wondered for some time whether much of Agile’s success was the result of the placebo effect, that is, good things happened because we believed they would.
The placebo effect is a startling reminder of the power our minds have over our perceived reality. Now cognitive scientists tell us that this is only a small part of what our minds can do.
Research has identified what I like to call «an agile mindset», an attitude that equates failure and problems with opportunities for learning, a belief that we can all improve over time, that our abilities are not fixed but evolve with effort.
What’s surprising about this research is the impact of an agile mindset on creativity and innovation, estimation, and collaboration in and out of the workplace.
I’ll relate what’s known about this mindset and share some practical suggestions that can help all of us become even more agile.

Pitching Ideas: How to sell your ideas to othersJeroen van Geel
Learn how to convince others of your UX ideas by understanding them.
We are good in designing usable and engaging products and services. We understand the user's needs and have a toolkit with dozens of deliverables. But for some reason it remains difficult to sell an idea or concept to team members, managers or clients. After this session that problem will be solved!
Selling your ideas and convincing others is one of the most undervalued assets in our field. This ranges from convincing a colleague to use a certain design pattern to selling research to your boss and convincing a client to go for your concept. You can come up with the best ideas in the world, but if it is presented in the wrong way these ideas will die a lonely dead. This is sad, because everybody can learn how to bring a message across. The main thing is that you know what to pay attention to.
In this session I will take you on a journey through the world of presenting ideas. We will move through the heads of clients and your colleagues, learn what their thoughts and needs are. We will move to the core of your idea and into the world of psychology.
Farming Unicorns: Building Startup & Investor EcosystemsDave McClure
This document discusses building startup ecosystems and the 500 Startups investment strategy. It begins with Dave McClure's background in venture capital and entrepreneurship. It then discusses 500 Startups, which is a $250 million global seed fund and accelerator that has invested in over 1,600 companies across more than 20 countries. McClure outlines 500 Startups' strategy of making many small "moneyball" style bets on early stage startups. He believes this approach maximizes the chances of finding unicorns, or billion dollar companies, despite the high failure rate of startups. The document concludes by discussing the critical factors for building strong startup ecosystems and emphasizes the importance of fostering an entrepreneurial spirit.

How to create your Minimum Viable Product - Raff PaquinRaff Paquin
The document discusses how to build a Minimum Viable Product (MVP). It recommends a three step process: 1) Build a prototype to test hypotheses, 2) Expose the prototype to customers and measure behaviors to collect data, and 3) Transform the behavioral data into new hypotheses and ideas for the next iteration. The goal of this iterative process is to continuously test ideas, build the product, and lower risks while maximizing learning for startups. It emphasizes that even large, successful companies continue iterating in this way.
Product Market Fit - How to know your product is market fitSaif Hassan
Product market fit means developing a product that solves a problem for customers in a sizable market who are willing to pay for the solution. Achieving product market fit is important for startups' survival and growth. To validate market potential, startups should identify their target customer and understand the problem the customer needs solved. Startups can then test minimum viable products, collect customer feedback, and iterate to achieve product market fit first with early adopters and then the early majority of customers by continuously learning from the market. The goal is to "cross the chasm" from the early adopter stage to the early majority stage of the customer adoption curve.
This document provides an excerpt from slides for a 2-3 day professional training on design thinking and innovation management. The slides cover the basics of design thinking, including its origins and nature, how it is portrayed in the media, and how it relates to strategic thinking. Design thinking is presented as a way to take an outside-in perspective focused on customer needs and experiences to drive value creation and innovation. The training is intended to help participants better understand design thinking and apply it to innovating without unrealistic expectations. The facilitator also provides strategy advisory and training on other topics beyond design thinking.
The document discusses different mindsets and how they affect our lives and work. It describes a fixed mindset where people believe their abilities are set and can't change, versus a growth mindset where people believe their abilities can develop over time through effort. Having a growth mindset creates resilience and a love of learning. The document suggests that organizations also have mindsets and can be either fixed or growth oriented. It provides tips on assessing your own and your organization's mindset and how to cultivate a growth mindset.

What does the future look like? Is it a dark space where we’re suffering from varying degrees of techamphetamine or are we heading towards a Utopian fantasy of abundance and harmony?
Understanding that our basic human needs and wants barely change, we explore the future state of a range of topics; from our need for physical sustenance through to our age-long fascination of transcending the limitations of our biology.
Looking at the future from a human perspective, our potential for greatness is teetering on a fine line between darkness and hope. We’re banking on the latter.
Agile focuses on developing an "Agile mindset" or way of thinking as the foundation for successfully implementing Agile practices. The Agile mindset is defined by the four values and twelve principles of the Agile Manifesto. It is a mindset that values individuals and interactions, working software, customer collaboration, and responding to change. This mindset is then manifested through selecting appropriate Agile practices and processes based on a team or organization's specific needs, tailoring them as necessary. True Agility comes from internalizing this mindset in order to flexibly apply practices, not from just following specific methodologies.

The document outlines four postulates about ignorance, iteration, and entrepreneurship. The first postulate states that an approximate answer to the right vague question is better than an exact answer to the wrong precise question. The second postulates that what is important is focusing questions on what matters rather than precision. The third postulate notes that precision does not necessarily matter if it does not impact one's work. The fourth postulate ties these together, stating that ignorance can drive questions, focus, optimism and iteration which is how entrepreneurs do their work.

The document discusses using statistics from the previous year to predict winners of the NCAA March Madness tournament. Statistics were tested to see if they moderately correlated with winning games. Scatter plots were used to find correlation coefficients for each statistic, showing the relationship between the stat and winning. The statistic found to best predict wins was used to create a metric to determine which teams would win games in the tournament. Multiple statistics were analyzed but one provided the strongest relationship to winning.

Carr: Is Google Making Us Stupid?
Brainstorming:
Personal Quotes and ideas
· I’ve had an uncomfortable sense that someone, or something, has been tinkering with my brain, remapping the neural circuitry, reprogramming the memory. My mind isn’t going—so far as I can tell—but it’s changing. (2)
· Now my concentration often starts to drift after two or three pages. I get fidgety, lose the thread, begin looking for something else to do. (2)
· The Web has been a godsend to me as a writer. (3)
· The advantages of having immediate access to such an incredibly rich store of information are many, and they’ve been widely described and duly applauded.(4)
· And what the Net seems to be doing is chipping away my capacity for concentration and contemplation. (4)
· Once I was a scuba diver in the sea of words. Now I zip along the surface like a guy on a Jet Ski. (4)
· I’m not the only one. When I mention my troubles with reading to friends and acquaintances—literary types, most of them—many say they’re having similar experiences. (5)
Other well-known individuals have had their reading and thinking changed as a result of continued use (Karp, Friedman- “staccato effect”, quick scans) loss of concentration.
Is the skill/act of reading connected to thinking? Carr wonders if they are related. (6)
Cognition and Reading Research and Effect on the Mind
· Scholars from University College London examine Internet and thinking (cognition) and discovered “skimming activity” by Internet users which researchers’ label “power browse”, a new form of reading/thinking. (7)
· People are more today than in the past three to four decades, but doing so in a different way (method). (8)
· Psychologist Wolf describes the Internet reading as “immediate” and “efficient” but sacrifices deep reading and thinking. We become, in her words, “decoders of information” disengaged from the interpretation needed for better understanding of the idea presented to us. (8)
· Wolf claims that reading places a challenge to the cognitive area of the mind since it is such an unnatural process, filled with symbols, directions and other affects. (8)
Intellectual Technologies and Influence on Human Behavior through the Ages
Carr suggests that technologies such as a typewriter place an unusual effect on our mind and our behavior. He explains using an example from Nietzsche and his use of the typewriter (10, 11, 12).
· People used to think that our mental meshwork, the dense connections formed among the 100 billion or so neurons inside our skulls, was largely fixed by the time we reached adulthood. (14) Olds, a professor of neuroscience, claims that research shows that the brain is capable of forming new neural connections based on the type of activity one does (14).
