4. Introduction To Carding
Carding is the most important process
in spinning. It contributes a lot to the
yarn quality. It is a mechanical process
that breaks up locks and unorganized
clumps of fiber and then aligns the
individual fibers so that they are more or
less parallel with each other.
5. Objectives
Opening to individual fibers.
Elimination of Impurities and dust.
Disentangle of naps.
Elimination of short fibers.
Fiber blending.
Fiber orientation.
Sliver formation.
8. Conclusion
Carding is the process of arranging the fiber in parallel fusion.
This is necessary for all staple fiber. Otherwise it would be
impossible to produce fine yarn.
