Code Geass
Location: From this image you can tell that it’s set in some form of desert or even a swamp. This could have
something to do with what’s happened almost like they’ve been cornered since desert and mood isn’t an
ideal area for any mech type of machine.
Angle: The angle they’ve used is in-between being inside the mech or standing on the ground. This could
have been used to show the fighting power of the army and that they’ve not affreaid of what’s cornered
them
Effects: The effects that this would have would be that it creates a tense scene for the view making them
think of the outcome of battle.
Use of lighting: The lighting used in the image is only from the sun set to
Composition: the way the
Mise en scene: the way the scene is set shows the army with their main weapon behind them making their
force look extraordinary.
Props: props used would be the mech suits that the characters are inside along with the sword and guns
Colour: colours that are used make the force look dark along with it being set in the sunset that reflects their
armour
Fronts: the font of their logo has been replicated into the way the ship is made behind them
How does it make its audience want to watch: this makes the audience want to watch since they want to see
who they’re going to fight along with how they’ll fight them

Akira
Location: The location is within a city form first glance so if there’s any combat I could expect a lot of building
destruction
Angle: the angle of him makes him look strong since he’s above the city whilst also making him not the most
powerful since it’s not trying to make him massive
Effects: The effects of the transparent object behind him and mystery to it making the audience question
what it could be and making them imagine how he could beat it
Use of lighting: the effects of the lights on him and compared to the city make him look like the good guy
trying to make the city good
Mise en scene: The way they’ve arranged the picture makes you concentrate on the main character but
when looking you see the city he’s in but further you see what’s inside the clouds
Costume: the costume he’s wearing is similar to the clothing Marty was wearing in back to the future which
makes you think he was some guy who then got dragged into something crazy
Props: the props he has looks like some futuristic gun that he probably uses throughout the anime.
Colour: The colours of him bright yellow, white, and orange compared to the black and gloomy city makes
him look innocent
Fronts: The font of the title looks very simple but works well with the layout
How does it make its audience want to watch: it makes the audience wants to see what could happen and
how he’s in the position of having to defeat the unknown thing behind him
Research Analysis
• What common features do the researched products have?
They all have hidden images within them and make you think of what the stories about. For
example the tree in the third picture acts like a barrier between the girls, implying that they’ve
had some form a falling out. Similar to the fourth picture where the boy is bright in front of the
dark city, as if he were an outcast and is all alone within it. Another similarity between two of the
pictures is how the first picture looks like an army ready for a big fight, you can tell there will be
blood shed in the battle since the samurai at the front is in a stance which is meant for killing
unlike a defensive stance or an attacking stance meant for keeping an enemy at bay. This can also
be seen in picture four, the tense face the character is making suggests he has killed before and
knows he’s going to have to do it again.
• What aspects of the research will you include within your on work?
The research I would use is the different clothing of akira since they’re very bold and have
different layers to add aspects of my product to like a badge of a company or a flag to.
Additionally, the design of the leader with his sword shinning at the front of his army from the
first image inspires me to want to do something similar to that, as well as the ship behind the
army has a good design and by using just the structure I could make a good looking capital ship.
For the third picture I could use something like the tree which makes a visual barrier.
Questionnaire Analysis
Audience research
• Observation: From my observation I can tell most of my demographic are males
• What this says about my audience: This says that my audience would suit more
action games which is fact that males prefer more than females
• How will your product appeal to this audience: my product appeals to this
audience since it’s a fps and has many things that have been tailored to make it
feel like you're always in the action
Audience research
• Observation: my first
observation shows that my
audience has an overall age of
17.75
• What this says about my
audience: this shows my
audience still has some
adventure within them since
they’re still maturing, but also
they have part of that maturity
which makes it so I can
implement puzzles and certain
patience test almost within the
game portion of my product
• How will your product appeal
to this audience: my product
appeals to this since I’ve had
different things planned
depending on the results of my
demographic.
Audience research
• Observation: from first glace I’ve noticed that my entire demographic has different
views
• What this says about my audience: This shows that my audience is the perfect one
since they will all see from different perspectives which would create a good image
for me to create a game that would suit all people
• How will your product appeal to this audience: I would appeal to my audience by
implementing different things inside my game
Audience research
• Observation: from my first observation I can tell everyone has different favourites
• What this says about my audience: This shows that my audience enjoys a variety of games which
makes it difficult to appeal to all of them but with the correct appearance It can make them all
want to try it out. The fact that a couple seconds in a trailer could change someone's mind and
makes them forget the rest of it is important, so along as I have something for all of them it could
work well
• How will your product appeal to this audience: my product will appeal to them since I would have
something that would make them all enjoy the game
Audience research
• Observation: from first glance i’ve noticed they all detest similar things
• What this says about my audience: This shows my audience is agrivated with having to buy things in
the game to gain an advantage whilst also annoyed with loading for long times. Additionally the cut
scenes are sometimes to long
• How will your product appeal to this audience: My game would have decrease ways to keep people
entertained during loading screens since loading is due to ones computer. Additionally, cut scenes
would gain a skip option and the only micro transactions would be for clothing that can still be
found in game.
Audience research
• Observation: from this main characters with a funny, sad or positive traits have gain peoples
attention
• What this says about my audience: this shows my audience still enjoy the bad guys but prefer
the good guy since they have great traits and ways to cheer the player up
• How will your product appeal to this audience: my product will appeal to the audience since
both the main characters have sad backstories but beautiful characteristics that make them
rememberable
Audience research
• Observation: more people would buy merchandise than others
• What this says about my audience: this shows my audience enjoys good
merchandise that looks creative, good on them, or makes their room
brighten up
• How will your product appeal to this audience: I would have products that
stand out in front of the rest and make people look stylish
Audience research
• Observation: from first observation I notice people get annoyed with things that sadly are in every
game but can be changed
• What this says about my audience: This shows my audience isn’t trying to make the game easier
but making it more enjoyable whilst keeping its difficulty
• How will your product appeal to this audience: having a checkpoint outside the boss room since
they’ve already made it their they don’t have to do it again. Making it so loot can be repetitive but
not to the point where you can’t find anything good. And characters would have there own stories
to make them thought-out whilst also thinking how different skills would suit the characters
playstyle
Audience research
• Observation: from first glance my audience wants things to make things more fun but strategic
• What this says about my audience: This shows my audience finds game with simple mechanics
repetitive and hate having to do the same thing every time.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: I would add different stages to boss fights and
certain sequences to move forward, additionally, I would make it so characters can move town
different skill trees so the players have something that fits there play style. For example: stealth,
brute force, speed, range, strategic trapping.
Audience research
• Observation: from first notice people want to see the real game with things that would be
unlockable but seem like they’re part of a cutscene.
• What this says about my audience: This shows my audience enjoys seeing beautiful graphics and
listening to how the music changes the mood along with how the game could play
• How will your product appeal to this audience: my trailer would appeal to the audience since it
would reflect play styles enemies and different abilities while still looking clean

Secondary: Female
• The reason it appeals to males be for all the
violence and gore.
Psychographic
Primary: Type B

driven
• This type be would be good since people
would get enthralled by all the violence
since humanity is forgotten
• Brings entertainment and makes you feel
part of a tribe
Social Status

Research Evaluation
Research Evaluation
• Give an overview of how you conducted your research.
Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each method
– Product Research
• The product research was really easy to find images but hard to find images to go
in-depth on. Whilst when you found the images it was easy to talk about since they
portrayed the scenes perfectly. Additionally, finding a pre 1990 image was difficult
at first but expanding my research made it easy to find some.
– Questionnaires
• My questionnaire was answered how I intended with the couple people not taking
it seriously, but that didn’t stop me getting good results. I did have double the
amount of questions but due to the site used I could only use ten
– Interviews
• The interviews gave me good information as well since I could pick people who I
knew played game and benefits more since they can go into detail which will help
me massively
Research Evaluation
– What sort of a response did you get?
• The responses I got from my survey were helpful since almost everyone was
serious and helped with what I could include and use. The one responder that
was serious I could easily exclude
– How did you distribute your survey? Give an advantage and a
disadvantage
• The way I distributed my survey was firstly by email, but then I noticed I only
got a few responses so I added it to the blackboard system for the class to
answer. After gaining another four responses I sent it to some old school
friends to see their thoughts which benefited me greatly

2. fmp research v1

  • 3. Location: From this image you can tell that it’s set in some form of desert or even a swamp. This could have something to do with what’s happened almost like they’ve been cornered since desert and mood isn’t an ideal area for any mech type of machine. Angle: The angle they’ve used is in-between being inside the mech or standing on the ground. This could have been used to show the fighting power of the army and that they’ve not affreaid of what’s cornered them Effects: The effects that this would have would be that it creates a tense scene for the view making them think of the outcome of battle. Use of lighting: The lighting used in the image is only from the sun set to Composition: the way the Mise en scene: the way the scene is set shows the army with their main weapon behind them making their force look extraordinary. Props: props used would be the mech suits that the characters are inside along with the sword and guns Colour: colours that are used make the force look dark along with it being set in the sunset that reflects their armour Fronts: the font of their logo has been replicated into the way the ship is made behind them How does it make its audience want to watch: this makes the audience want to watch since they want to see who they’re going to fight along with how they’ll fight them

  • 9. Location: The location is within a city form first glance so if there’s any combat I could expect a lot of building destruction Angle: the angle of him makes him look strong since he’s above the city whilst also making him not the most powerful since it’s not trying to make him massive Effects: The effects of the transparent object behind him and mystery to it making the audience question what it could be and making them imagine how he could beat it Use of lighting: the effects of the lights on him and compared to the city make him look like the good guy trying to make the city good Mise en scene: The way they’ve arranged the picture makes you concentrate on the main character but when looking you see the city he’s in but further you see what’s inside the clouds Costume: the costume he’s wearing is similar to the clothing Marty was wearing in back to the future which makes you think he was some guy who then got dragged into something crazy Props: the props he has looks like some futuristic gun that he probably uses throughout the anime. Colour: The colours of him bright yellow, white, and orange compared to the black and gloomy city makes him look innocent Fronts: The font of the title looks very simple but works well with the layout How does it make its audience want to watch: it makes the audience wants to see what could happen and how he’s in the position of having to defeat the unknown thing behind him
  • 10. Research Analysis • What common features do the researched products have? They all have hidden images within them and make you think of what the stories about. For example the tree in the third picture acts like a barrier between the girls, implying that they’ve had some form a falling out. Similar to the fourth picture where the boy is bright in front of the dark city, as if he were an outcast and is all alone within it. Another similarity between two of the pictures is how the first picture looks like an army ready for a big fight, you can tell there will be blood shed in the battle since the samurai at the front is in a stance which is meant for killing unlike a defensive stance or an attacking stance meant for keeping an enemy at bay. This can also be seen in picture four, the tense face the character is making suggests he has killed before and knows he’s going to have to do it again. • What aspects of the research will you include within your on work? The research I would use is the different clothing of akira since they’re very bold and have different layers to add aspects of my product to like a badge of a company or a flag to. Additionally, the design of the leader with his sword shinning at the front of his army from the first image inspires me to want to do something similar to that, as well as the ship behind the army has a good design and by using just the structure I could make a good looking capital ship. For the third picture I could use something like the tree which makes a visual barrier.

Additionally the cut scenes are sometimes to long • How will your product appeal to this audience: My game would have decrease ways to keep people entertained during loading screens since loading is due to ones computer. And characters would have there own stories to make them thought-out whilst also thinking how different skills would suit the characters playstyle

For example: stealth, brute force, speed, range, strategic trapping.

Which are expensive.
  • 29. Research Evaluation • Give an overview of how you conducted your research. Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each method – Product Research • The product research was really easy to find images but hard to find images to go in-depth on. Whilst when you found the images it was easy to talk about since they portrayed the scenes perfectly. Additionally, finding a pre 1990 image was difficult at first but expanding my research made it easy to find some. – Questionnaires • My questionnaire was answered how I intended with the couple people not taking it seriously, but that didn’t stop me getting good results. I did have double the amount of questions but due to the site used I could only use ten – Interviews • The interviews gave me good information as well since I could pick people who I knew played game and benefits more since they can go into detail which will help me massively
  • 30. Research Evaluation – What sort of a response did you get? • The responses I got from my survey were helpful since almost everyone was serious and helped with what I could include and use. The one responder that was serious I could easily exclude – How did you distribute your survey? Give an advantage and a disadvantage • The way I distributed my survey was firstly by email, but then I noticed I only got a few responses so I added it to the blackboard system for the class to answer. After gaining another four responses I sent it to some old school friends to see their thoughts which benefited me greatly
