The first question I asked what
was is your gender this was to
find out what gender is
answering the certain answers
also to see what the different
genders like to see with in the
magazines. As well I asked this
question to see what gender
liked to read music magazines
more so that I can make the
content of my magazine suitable
to the correct gender, I can also
make sure that the colour
scheme addresses the correct
gender and appeals to the
gender that is most likely to buy
the magazine. From my
responses I can see that the
gender balance is almost
balanced however slightly m ore
females than males, this can be
interpreted to say more females
are likely to buy and read music
magazines.
The second question I asked
was, what is your age? I did this
to find out the ages that are most
likely to read my magazine. I did
this to make sure that my
magazine is age relevant and
appeal to the certain age and
make all the content suitable for
the age group. From my survey I
found out that the main age
range that is likely to read my
magazine is people age, 16 – 24
years of age. This means that
the content of my magazine
should be very nowadays and
current with what is inside. Also it
means that I should use
language that is very up to date
and from modern times so that
this age range will be drawn into
my magazine.
The third question I asked was,
What city do you currently live
in? I did this to find out where
people are who would be most
likely to by my magazine. By
finding out this it will let me
know what type of dialect is
appropriate to use so that the
readers will be able to
understand the writing very
clearly. Also by finding out
where people live it lets me
know what adverts I should
include in my magazine to
appeal to the readers. From my
survey I found out that most of
my reader would be from
Yorkshire and from the north of
England. This means I should
use dialect that is common in
the northern region. However
some people were from
Shropshire and the language
has to be readable for
everyone.
The forth question I asked was,
Who is your favourite musical
artist? I did this to find out what
people would like to see as the
main article in my magazine. I
did this to make my main artist
appeal to the most people
bringing the largest number of
readers wanting to buy my
magazine. From my survey I
can tell that the most popular
artist at the moment is Ed
Sheeran, followed by take that.
From this information I will
make sure that my main artist
that I write about in my
magazine is someone with the
same type of music as Ed
Sheeran. I will make sure that
my main artist will appeal to the
widest audience by using the
most popular artist and using
more than one so that more
people will want to buy my
magazine.
The fifth question I asked was,
What musical genres do you
prefer? I asked this question to
find out what genre I should set
my magazine around. I also
asked this to find out what to
base my magazine on so that
the widest audience would want
to buy my magazine. From my
responses I found out that the
most popular genre that people
like is POP. This means I will
make my magazine based on
the POP genre so that the most
people will want to buy it. Also I
will use elements of indi/rock as
that was the second highest
genre. From my results I can
easily tell what genre people
want to see within my magazine
and which genre would make
them want to buy the magazine
the most.
The sixth question I asked was,
How often do you buy a music
magazine? By asking this
question I can easily find out
how much content I need to put
in my magazine. By finding this
out I can see how much text I
have to put on my magazine
and how far back I have to go
to keep my reader up to date.
From my results I can find out
that everybody buys a
magazine at the most once a
month. From this I can tell that I
have to have lots of content to
make sure that they keep up to
date with everything that has
happened in a big space of
time. Also I can tell that my
magazine would have to have a
brief overview of everything.
The seventh question I asked
was, What do you buy music
magazine for? I asked this
question to find out what people
would most like to see in the
magazine. Also I asked this to
find out what I should put most
of in my magazine. From my
survey results I found out that
most people buy the magazines
for entertainment. From this I
realise that I will make sure that
my magazine is very
entertaining and people want to
buy it. Also I will make sure that
there is lots of information and
images as these were the
second highest reason to why
people will buy a magazine. I
will try and include all of these
things as it will make my
magazine appeal to the widest
audience.
The eighth question I asked
was, What are the main
features you enjoy about music
magazines? I asked this
question to see what features
would be most popular to
include in my magazine and to
find out what people would want
to see in my magazine in order
to buy it and enjoy reading it.
From my survey results I can
see that the main feature
people like to see in magazines
is fining out information and
about up coming events. From
this result I know I should
include lots of information about
events and artists. Also Free
posters was very popular in
what people enjoy this makes
me think that I should include a
freebee within my magazine to
draw in the readers.
The ninth question I asked was,
what music magazine have you
bought in the past? I asked this
question to find out what type of
magazines people already
enjoy. From my survey results I
can see that people have
mainly bought Q, Karang and
NME. From this I can realise
that I will base my magazine in
a similar style to these
magazines as these are already
popular to people at the
moment. By doing this it will
make readers want to read my
magazine as they will like
reading the magazine that they
already enjoy. Also I can see
from my results that the
magazines that have been
bought in the past are
magazine that are based
around the POP genre and this
links with what genre was most
popular in my survey.
The tenth question I asked was,
how much would you spend
when you usually buy a music
magazine? I asked this to find
out what price I should put on
my magazine. By the results
which I got from my survey I
can tell that I should price my
magazine at the price between
£1.50 and £3. the main price
would that was chosen was
between these two price so I
would price my magazine in this
price range as the most people
would buy my magazine if it
was between these prices.

  • 2. The first question I asked what was is your gender this was to find out what gender is answering the certain answers also to see what the different genders like to see with in the magazines. As well I asked this question to see what gender liked to read music magazines more so that I can make the content of my magazine suitable to the correct gender, I can also make sure that the colour scheme addresses the correct gender and appeals to the gender that is most likely to buy the magazine. From my responses I can see that the gender balance is almost balanced however slightly m ore females than males, this can be interpreted to say more females are likely to buy and read music magazines.
  • 3. The second question I asked was, what is your age? I did this to find out the ages that are most likely to read my magazine. I did this to make sure that my magazine is age relevant and appeal to the certain age and make all the content suitable for the age group. From my survey I found out that the main age range that is likely to read my magazine is people age, 16 – 24 years of age. This means that the content of my magazine should be very nowadays and current with what is inside. Also it means that I should use language that is very up to date and from modern times so that this age range will be drawn into my magazine.
  • 4. The third question I asked was, What city do you currently live in? I did this to find out where people are who would be most likely to by my magazine. By finding out this it will let me know what type of dialect is appropriate to use so that the readers will be able to understand the writing very clearly. Also by finding out where people live it lets me know what adverts I should include in my magazine to appeal to the readers. From my survey I found out that most of my reader would be from Yorkshire and from the north of England. This means I should use dialect that is common in the northern region. However some people were from Shropshire and the language has to be readable for everyone.
  • 5. The forth question I asked was, Who is your favourite musical artist? I did this to find out what people would like to see as the main article in my magazine. I did this to make my main artist appeal to the most people bringing the largest number of readers wanting to buy my magazine. From my survey I can tell that the most popular artist at the moment is Ed Sheeran, followed by take that. From this information I will make sure that my main artist that I write about in my magazine is someone with the same type of music as Ed Sheeran. I will make sure that my main artist will appeal to the widest audience by using the most popular artist and using more than one so that more people will want to buy my magazine.
  • 6. The fifth question I asked was, What musical genres do you prefer? I asked this question to find out what genre I should set my magazine around. I also asked this to find out what to base my magazine on so that the widest audience would want to buy my magazine. From my responses I found out that the most popular genre that people like is POP. This means I will make my magazine based on the POP genre so that the most people will want to buy it. Also I will use elements of indi/rock as that was the second highest genre. From my results I can easily tell what genre people want to see within my magazine and which genre would make them want to buy the magazine the most.
  • 7. The sixth question I asked was, How often do you buy a music magazine? By asking this question I can easily find out how much content I need to put in my magazine. By finding this out I can see how much text I have to put on my magazine and how far back I have to go to keep my reader up to date. From my results I can find out that everybody buys a magazine at the most once a month. From this I can tell that I have to have lots of content to make sure that they keep up to date with everything that has happened in a big space of time. From this I realise that I will make sure that my magazine is very entertaining and people want to buy it.
