4. Music Taste
From this I can tell that the main favourite music choices of my results are
dubstep, R&B and rock. These are also the most popular music magazines out
there currently so they would be the best style to base my magazine around
and what styles to use.
5. Ethnicity
The most common ethnicity in my results are white British. This means I
wont have very varied results from other ethnicities.
6. Price
From this information, I have found out the price range people will pay
for certain magazines but don’t know why until later on in my survey.
7. Reason for this price
From my results, the main reason for paying this much has to do with the
type of magazine it is and what sort of content is available. I was told
that a more well known magazine can ask for more and that they
wouldn’t mind paying more as they know that the content is going to be
good quality. They also said that how often the magazine is published
can effect how much they will be willing to pay. They said that a monthly
issue can as for more as they will have more content than a weekly issue.
Although they said that the bonus of buying weekly is that the
information can be more up to date and have more gossip . Although
they said that weekly issues can seem rushed and have limited content
and stretch the information further with lots of images and large fonts.
Most said that they only buy magazines if there is something special in it
such as a well known artist that they like or freebies. They choose
magazines based on who they like as they want to know more about
them and what makes them special.. They also like freebies as it gives
them an excuse to buy these magazines as they need an excuse to spend
a high price.
8. Media Consumption
From this I found out that the most common form of consuming media is
through magazines and online. This means that the best way to sell my
product would be through magazines and online.
9. Occupation
My results show that the most common occupation from my results is a
student. This could limit my results as I only have results from one main
group.
10. What makes you choose a magazine?
From this I know what makes people buy the magazines they do. The
main reasons are freebies, posters and articles.
11. What is best in magazines
From my survey I found that the best parts of magazines, is the
content. They mostly like well known and popular bands that
are up to date. They also like interviews with old musicians also
as they still like music from the past as well as music now.
Another thing they like to see in magazines are posters as it
allows you to show what music you enjoy and then view them
again and again.
