Album cover:
The use of colourallows the black and
white, greyscale to complimentthe bold
use of yellow. By makingthe yellow more
of a warm toneallows it to be more
‘approachable’ andlinksto the genre as
it isn’t mainstreamor traditionally citrus
yellow.
By makingthe coloursof the fontfor the
albumtitle ‘torches’ andthe torches in
the image the same colour gives an
instantvisuallink between the two.
The album art itself is very stylised and
nonconventionalwhichgives another
link to the genre as indie pop’starget
audience aren’t mainstreamor
conventional.
Additionally, the use of a drawing means
thatit can showoff the creative aspects
which the bandcan explore.
Album back:
The font is the same as on the cover. Bothuse
thin, elongated letters which linksto the line
drawing onthe cover, it shows the detail and
delicacy of the work. Implyingthatthe same
amountof detail and care hasbeen taken in
the music andalbum itself as well.
The colour of the font on the back is the same
yellow as on the cover which links all of the
elements mentionedbefore.

The cover artwork was designed by Young & Sick (formerly known as Japayork), a friend of MarkFoster who was interested in
doing illustrations for an album the group's drummer MarkPontius explained the origins of the artwork:
“We argued about that artwork forever. I think I was the only one who didn't like it. I love his artworkbut I had a different image
in my mind for the record cover. But I ended up being happy that I lost thefight because it ended up that the characterson the
front became this whole world that we ended up including in our live show and on our merch and our website.”
