1. Location Recce
I have chosen to set my music video in number of different locations. For example, I wanted
to film in New York because it is the home of Donald Trump (who the video is based on) and
I also feel that I will obtain some aesthetic shots. Due to the current political state within the
USA I think the possibility of protest and strong political view of the residents could create
the perfect atmosphere for what I’m filming. Other locations include a forest and a local
town centre. These would be used to film short clips which will allow me to spend more
time on the more detailed shots when in New York.
Most musicvideoseffectivelyuse bigwide establishing
shotsthroughoutthe video,notonlydoesitsetthe
locationbutit alsomakesfora more professional looking
video,aswell asmakingitas if the budgetismuchhigher
than itactual is(muchmore impressive.) LuckilyImay
have the resourceswhenoutinNew York to use a drone,
and couldtherefore getsome veryimpressive establishing
shotsand potentiallyevenzoominfromahighshotabove
buildingstothe actorsbelow all inone shot.
Central Parkwill be a keylocationof myfilming.
Thisis due to the large span of diverse
environmentincomparisontothe restif the
city.Meaningwe can go from filminginagreen
woodedenvironmentyetfive minuteslaterbe
filmingindenselypopulatedcity.Thismeanswe
can easilyfilmintwoverydifferentlocationsin
a short periodof time meaningamore efficient
filmingprocessas well ashavingimpressive
shotsof a verynotablywell knownareawithin
the political placesof the city.
The innercityand hopefullyTimesSquare will be the inner
citylocationof video.Obviouslythisisahighlypopulated
area and therefore the roomtofilmmaybe restricteddue
to the shearamount of people.Hopefullywe will spreadthe
Donaldtrump characters throughthe general publicand
have theirfacesstandout incomparisonto others.The
lightingfromthe buildingsatnightwill make agreatglowon
the masksdue to the fact that theywill be laminatedand
therefore the besttime tofilmmaybe at night.Thiswill all
dependhoweverwhenwe cangetintothe square at his
leastbusy.

2. The ‘woods’scene isthe mainlocationof the videoand will be the locationwhere bythe lip
syncingaspectsof the song will occur.The fore groundin the shotwill be opensothat there is
space for the actors to stand anddance.The backgroundwill be clusteredwithtreesandtiedto
one of those treeswill be HilaryClinton.(ActorinHilarymask.) The reasonforthe choice of
locationisthat itis a large contrast incomparisonto the restof the shotsand showsa creepy
unknownlocationasanotherfallingpointfortrumpspersonality.(Ashe,himself iscreepyand
strange.)
