2. Process
Before I did any animations I made
different postures for each character
multiple times. Such as different postures
for a power move and different postures
for just the fighting and being beaten up.
This adds more detail into the game as
each character moves differently and
reacts differently with how they are being
attacked. The fight is fast but it has details
throughout the scene which I have slowed
down in premiere. I was wanting a fast
fight but as it is a game I wanted it to feel
like more of a game and games wouldn’t
allow very fast fights as the player
wouldn’t be able to counter or even
properly see what is happening. Which for
an animation would be the worst thing to
happen for the viewer.
3. Process
For the background I looked up scenery as I
wanted a detailed background for my
game as my characters were going to be
less detailed. I did the shape similar to the
one I saw with a few minor changes and
colour scheme change. Such as the
mountain had blue tints and a brown
middle so I changed it to a green tint with
black and grey middle. This works well with
the faded sunset I added with the
mountain and the colours work well with
the mountain as it makes it less intrusive to
the image. I was originally going to make a
background interactive with the characters
but I decided not to as I feel like it could
ruin the image and not have it be as
detailed as before. I am happy with how
the background turned out.
4. Process
The beginning of the game is simple and
easy to follow, I didn’t use anything to do
this. All I did was copy and paste and
coloured the outer square to make it look
like it is being moved to pick what
character they want to use. This was the
easiest part of the game and it gave it
more of a game feel as you see the
characters being chosen. I like the look of
this as it is simple but nice to look at so it
worked well being the introduction of the
game. These small cut scenes were mainly
used for time management as the
animation would have been very quick
without these cut scenes so adding these
made a big impact on the length of the
animation. But also it does make it more
game like as you do have a loading screen
for pretty much every game you play.
5. Process
For the ending I wanted go for a street
fighter type ending when it says K.O. so I
decided to make a mix as the health bar
gets destroyed and when it bleeds out
then it goes into the K.O. as the opponent
is fully dead. I liked this small animation as
no other game I have seen has done this so
it adds more personalisation to it rather
than fully copying anther games finishing
cut scene. My only problem with my
ending is that it is very fast and doesn’t
capture the animation and the death of
the second character well. So if I was to
redo it, I would add an extra animation like
mortal kombat does but less extreme so it
is more my own ending.
6. Process
For my effects I wanted to put more detail
into the movement and make more
effects into the fighting. I added some
which include these power up moves. But
this is the main effects I did which wasn’t
what I planned for at the beginning but it
worked well with the fight scenes and
made them more interesting. So I am
happy that at least I added these effects
into the fight or it wouldn’t of came out
the way I wanted to. Also the effects were
very fast in these scenes which I managed
to slow down a little bit more. The sound
effects go well with the animation and
makes it more of a game feel as the
sounds are very exaggerated like the show
I was basing my game off of so I am happy
with how it turned out.
