Research
• Researching magazine products was extremly help for my understanding of the different
elements and aspects of what makes up a magazine and what makes a magazine look
when when the producer of the magazine is trying to create an aethetic around a
subject of some sort because it allowed me to learn the different parts of the magazine
and why and how they were used within a magzine, which was a great launch for me to
excert my knowledge when going into my final product hence this part of the research
made me more prepared for it as I had a soild referance point of various examples of the
product that I was going to create for my final print product.
• Research analysis was also a great part of my learning of magazines because it allowed
me to reflect over the existing products that I had previously examined and gave my
thoughts on and gave me the platform to express what I would potentially use within my
own work, which thoroughly allowed me to pattern down the researched products
influence on my ideas that I would use for my own, in my own, to fit the aethetic & style
of my magazine that I would end up pursuing within my production of my spreads and
cover to produce my final magazine.
Planning
• Although there were elements of planning that took-up time because of the configuration of the
mind map & mood board, it was definatly a very introspective experience for me because it allowed
me write down and give myself the time to do an initial reaction of the set brief, which was a great
brain stroming session on the work at hand, which allowed me to get to understand and to interpret
the overall project of what my thoughts and feeling were towardswhat I would potentially do for my
final product and the overall medium of the media within the project.
• Mind maps were certainly usful for my idea layout because I could visually understand via looking at
the links within and develop new ideas from the mind map of the various differents elements that I
had brought to the table for my project, which allowed me to get to grips of the real sections that
formulate a magazine, that I would implament within my final product for my magazine. The only
downfall of this was that it was time consuming to create the mind maps because of the organisation
of the arrows and the text sizes, which is why if I were to do it another time I would use a mind map
website because they are usually qicker for me to create a mind map because the layout and
organisation of the arrows to text is better within the mechanisms of the website. But overall,
although it was time consuming, it was worth it because it really did propel the preportaions leading
upto the final product, which was a great help because it made me more ready and organised to
produce my product.
• Simalarly to my mind map, the mood board and mood board analysis was also a very helpful tool
that worked well by giving me a better, more sicure structure of what I would be going into for my
final product because not only did it allow me to layout various images relating to my product and
overall mood of my aethetic, but it also allowed me to reflect and anaylse what I had used for my
mood board and what elements from my mood board I would used fro my own, which gave me the
bigger picture of what I could do for my final product, which was good for me because it made me
become more orgaised leading up to the final stages of the project.
Time Management
It would be easy for me to say that my time management was good or bad, however it
wasn't as simple as that since there were various areas within the project that were good
and bad because for instance, when I was doing my final magazine product, I took quite a
lot of time typing down the information because there was a lot of it to write. However, at
the same time there were also sections, like when I was doing my experiments and
experiement reflections where I did it quickly but not because I rushed it. I didn’t complete
the final product very quickly and I think that this wasn't just because I just had to write a
lot, althoughtbthat was an element of it, but I think I could have deffinatly managed my
time better via allowing myself time, especially on my days off, to do more of the work on
those days so that I don't slack behind and potentially lose time for the deadline and thus
cause more issues more myself. I shall use this as a learning curb as that I can take this
mistake of misusing my avaliable time to acctually use my available time more effectivly so
that I can get more of the work done so that not only will I be able to have more time but so
that I can have more time to do even better work and maximize the potential for the
creation of better and a greater standard of work so that I can do better and learn more
overall within my projects as a creative media student.
Technical Qualities
• One of the main differences between my
product and the existing product is that my
product is less standard since my product is
more colourful, as you can see of the
desaturated (black & white) image of
benedict cumberbatch in the rolling stone
magazine, and all over the place to attract
more of the youner demographics rather
then the order ones, which is what the
existing product seems to be doing because
it is structured more formally and in some
ways more professionally
• Although both my products magazine spread and the
existing magazine spread are both structured well, my
products spread has text on both sides of the pages, in
contrast to the existing magazine spread, which has a large
image on one side and text on the other.
• One main similarity is that my product as well as
the existing one both uses quite formatal fonts
because they are both not pandering to a certain
necessary genre hence one (mine) is about a
global sport (football) and the other is about
celebraties so they both don't need to use a
wacky font since they are both not attached to a
specific style and/or genre.
• Also the text in the existing
product and my own final
product both overall text in
a similar, however not
idential, manner, which
isn't suprising because the
magazine text organisation
is frequentally similar to
other magazine covers
because it’s a common
trend that works well upon
the production of the
covers when text is applied
Aesthetic Qualities
my products will definatly look good to most eyes I would think because I
have used contrasting colours to make the text stand out within the spread
and in some ways more importantly the cover because that’s the first thing
that people will see when the y vewi the product. Although I have
mentioned that there is a corilation between the product looking good and
contrasting colours, that’s not the only thing that makes my work look
good because the overall layout of my products in both my spreads and my
cover looks good because the orgaisation between the images and the text
are aligned, which isn't suprising to me because when I was using the
software Photoshop I had a great help form the grid tool, which allowed
me to perfectly apply images and text within areas that would give me a
referance point of space of the whole spread, which made it easy for me to
place in my text and images within the spread in a tidy manner so that it
looked more professional and more importantly, just more satisfying
overall to look at as the layout all fit well together in the spread.
The colours that were used were in some ways a tactical decision hence
they were symbolic of the primary colours used within their set theme,
which made the experience of the product a much more satisfyig visual
view hence there were corilations between the colours and the subjects of
them within the magazine.
Audience Appeal
My product easily appeals to the age demographic of my audience because my audience's age is between 10-21 years old
which is a good overall age for the standard magazine because the majority of the age of people who buy magazines are
usually young anyway, but also the topics that are included within my magazine are pretty well suited to the age of my
audience because within my magazine it includes information about a certain part the game FIFA 20, which is a PEGI 3 and
is played the most within my age demographical bracket. Also there is other general inforamtion about football, like the
leagues and the Qatar world Cup, which althought there will be a lot of 10 year olds that won't understand the Qatar World
Cup problems, there will most likely be at least a portion of my audience looking at the age demographic that would be
interested in the Qatar but it would mostly be the 16-21 year olds because there more mature ages.
For my gender I have tried to appeal to the male gender because football is mostly viewed by males thus why I have chosen
to pander to the male gender through the traditionally male colours and themes because I know that would attract more of
the primary gender of the sport, which would be the smartest thing to do with a product of this sport because it would
allow the optimum amount of audiences to flock to the product, which will, in return produce more sales of the product,
which is a one of the fundamental things to think about when formulating and producing a product.
The final product that I have produced appeals strongly to the belonger psychograpahic because belongers don't live in
large cities, which makes them more suseptiable to have more time to experience the product. And also in smaller cities
the younger audiences will have less things going on so that will also allow them to be more able to buy the product
because there will be less distractions in their lives. Belonger will also be audience's psychographic hence football is a sport
with great loyalty thus making the my audience belgonger because belonger psychographic tend to be very loyal to brands.
My audience will also be type a social staus because type a social type people tend to care about their environment and my
audience is 10-21 year olds, making my audience more likely to be type a since the younger generations tend to care more
about their environment then the older generations on average, hence the whole climate change events, activism
demographics of age.

Time Management It would be easy for me to say that my time management was good or bad, however it wasn't as simple as that since there were various areas within the project that were good and bad because for instance, when I was doing my final magazine product, I took quite a lot of time typing down the information because there was a lot of it to write. However, at the same time there were also sections, like when I was doing my experiments and experiement reflections where I did it quickly but not because I rushed it. I didn’t complete the final product very quickly and I think that this wasn't just because I just had to write a lot, althoughtbthat was an element of it, but I think I could have deffinatly managed my time better via allowing myself time, especially on my days off, to do more of the work on those days so that I don't slack behind and potentially lose time for the deadline and thus cause more issues more myself. I shall use this as a learning curb as that I can take this mistake of misusing my avaliable time to acctually use my available time more effectivly so that I can get more of the work done so that not only will I be able to have more time but so that I can have more time to do even better work and maximize the potential for the creation of better and a greater standard of work so that I can do better and learn more overall within my projects as a creative media student.
  • 5. Technical Qualities • One of the main differences between my product and the existing product is that my product is less standard since my product is more colourful, as you can see of the desaturated (black & white) image of benedict cumberbatch in the rolling stone magazine, and all over the place to attract more of the youner demographics rather then the order ones, which is what the existing product seems to be doing because it is structured more formally and in some ways more professionally • Although both my products magazine spread and the existing magazine spread are both structured well, my products spread has text on both sides of the pages, in contrast to the existing magazine spread, which has a large image on one side and text on the other. • One main similarity is that my product as well as the existing one both uses quite formatal fonts because they are both not pandering to a certain necessary genre hence one (mine) is about a global sport (football) and the other is about celebraties so they both don't need to use a wacky font since they are both not attached to a specific style and/or genre. • Also the text in the existing product and my own final product both overall text in a similar, however not idential, manner, which isn't suprising because the magazine text organisation is frequentally similar to other magazine covers because it’s a common trend that works well upon the production of the covers when text is applied
  • 6. Aesthetic Qualities my products will definatly look good to most eyes I would think because I have used contrasting colours to make the text stand out within the spread and in some ways more importantly the cover because that’s the first thing that people will see when the y vewi the product. Although I have mentioned that there is a corilation between the product looking good and contrasting colours, that’s not the only thing that makes my work look good because the overall layout of my products in both my spreads and my cover looks good because the orgaisation between the images and the text are aligned, which isn't suprising to me because when I was using the software Photoshop I had a great help form the grid tool, which allowed me to perfectly apply images and text within areas that would give me a referance point of space of the whole spread, which made it easy for me to place in my text and images within the spread in a tidy manner so that it looked more professional and more importantly, just more satisfying overall to look at as the layout all fit well together in the spread. The colours that were used were in some ways a tactical decision hence they were symbolic of the primary colours used within their set theme, which made the experience of the product a much more satisfyig visual view hence there were corilations between the colours and the subjects of them within the magazine.
  • 7. Audience Appeal My product easily appeals to the age demographic of my audience because my audience's age is between 10-21 years old which is a good overall age for the standard magazine because the majority of the age of people who buy magazines are usually young anyway, but also the topics that are included within my magazine are pretty well suited to the age of my audience because within my magazine it includes information about a certain part the game FIFA 20, which is a PEGI 3 and is played the most within my age demographical bracket. Also there is other general inforamtion about football, like the leagues and the Qatar world Cup, which althought there will be a lot of 10 year olds that won't understand the Qatar World Cup problems, there will most likely be at least a portion of my audience looking at the age demographic that would be interested in the Qatar but it would mostly be the 16-21 year olds because there more mature ages. For my gender I have tried to appeal to the male gender because football is mostly viewed by males thus why I have chosen to pander to the male gender through the traditionally male colours and themes because I know that would attract more of the primary gender of the sport, which would be the smartest thing to do with a product of this sport because it would allow the optimum amount of audiences to flock to the product, which will, in return produce more sales of the product, which is a one of the fundamental things to think about when formulating and producing a product. The final product that I have produced appeals strongly to the belonger psychograpahic because belongers don't live in large cities, which makes them more suseptiable to have more time to experience the product. And also in smaller cities the younger audiences will have less things going on so that will also allow them to be more able to buy the product because there will be less distractions in their lives. Belonger will also be audience's psychographic hence football is a sport with great loyalty thus making the my audience belgonger because belonger psychographic tend to be very loyal to brands. My audience will also be type a social staus because type a social type people tend to care about their environment and my audience is 10-21 year olds, making my audience more likely to be type a since the younger generations tend to care more about their environment then the older generations on average, hence the whole climate change events, activism demographics of age.
