Task 1- metal hammer, nme, mojo

1. Metal hammer.
• Genre- Rock/Metal.
• Target audience- A very niche audience which is more male leaning and
aimed at 16-22 year olds. Most of them play some kind of instrument and
are really into music.
• Content- In the magazine they use concert reviews, posters, interviews
with band members that have recently been in the music news, and
subscriptions to the magazine and lots of competitions.
• Publisher- the publisher for metal hammer magazine is Team Rock.

2. NME.
• Genre-Indie, Alternative and Rock.
• Target audience- The target audience for nme is most male
leaning and quite niche. The readers of this magazine are heavy
internet users and obsessed with music that like to socialise a lot.
They are ABC1’s. The age range for this is 17-25.
• Content- In the magazine they use concert reviews, interviews
with band members and subscriptions to the magazine and lots
of competitions to win a meeting with the favourite band
members or to win signed goods.
• Publisher- IPC Media

3. Mojo.
• Genre- modern rock, folk, soul, country to reggae, electronic and experimental.
So there is a little bit of everything.
• Target audience- Male leaning 35-54. Its not a niche as the other ones as there
is lots of music genres in the magazine. Mojo is the brand for those truly
obsessed with music.
• Context-Free CD, Articles form celebrities and basic information about new
music and people who have made a return into the music industry.
• Publisher-Bauer.
