2. 2
• Showcasing the changing talent and genres through time, with different genres
being showcased every month withNovembers edition being rap
• Rap is known as a minimalist and one tone genre, we want to change this
• Make clear and vivid that there are many sub genres in the genre of rap and more
to it
• Inform and highlight different types of genres every month in different editions all
slightly linking into rap
• As well as the change in fashion in the genres of North London music magazine
Purpose:
3. Form:
• The form of this magazine has an option of, interviews, layout conventions and
images
• There will be many images of the genre of rap as well as soft, indie and heavy
rock to show the difference
• There will be two interview’s from two different views to show the contrast
• Each page will be different from one another from many images to none
3
4. Genre:
• Rap music has three main sub
genres, indie, soft and heavy metal
• Known to be a vocal technique
• Genre of Rap emphasis rhythm and
individual expression
• Not just about the music but also artist
and fashion
• Shows how the world and role models
are changing
4
6. Primary Target Audience:
• The main target audience is boys and
girls 15-18 year olds
• This music is main relevant to the age
not the genre, race or ethnicity as
many backgrounds listen to it
• 15 to 18 year olds are in the
experimental and trail phase to new
music styles linking to the genre
• NRS social grade of B and C1
therefore middle or working class
would be listening to this
6
7. Secondary Target Audience:
• Would be young adults interested in
change and fashion 18-35 descending
into their adulthood life
• They will be trying to stay up to date
and youthful with what is popular
• These 18-35 year olds will have the
NRS social grade of B as there from a
middle class group
• Would have an interest in many genres
not just rap as they are interested in
new things
7
8. Resources and Personnel:
• Three main resources we would need are models, props and photoshop
• As were making a new online ad print based magazine we try to make it interesting
and vibrant to the readers
• Props and cloths would exchange the genre of rap for this month as they would
wear ripped jeans and oversized band t shirts and dark cloths which makes it clear
and grabs there focus
• wRAPped up will have three different main shots to clarify the sub-genre of rap not
just one image which we would automatically think of
8
9. Marketing Methods:
• Printing and handing out flier’s around various rap genre related concerts would
interest the readers as they now know the magazine is similar to their previous
concert
• These would also be handed out at youth clubs as the primary audience is 15-18
year olds so therefore would create publicity
• As well as paid media advertising as they would mainly be on the phones and
online at this day and age
9
10. Distribution:
• Selling copies of the months magazine in popular record shops
which emphasis the vibrant music scene developing
• As well as selling these copies in student unions and schools in
North London addressing the primary target audience
• Distributing online would be by producing a website linking to the
magazine
10
11. Colour Scheme:
• Four main colours are red, green,
black and pastel colours scattered
around the page
• With black being used on the majority
of the pages to crate a contrast
• The red and green being bright and
vibrant colours to the page to grab
peoples attention which has
connotations of rap
• I’m trying to crate a noticeable and
striking magazine which would link into
every sub genre being used in ever
months edition
11
12. Font Styles:
It
• I want to use font styles which stand out and attract people attention
which links into the genre of rap as is known as a loud and booming
genre
• The fonts will flow onto the other letters next to one another to
create a casual and easy going form
