POST-DISASTER AREAS
◼ 2. Module Description
Tourism has evolved into a large-scale effort that not only generates income but also has a positive
impact on people's lives. Tourism has contributed to the rapid development in many countries
around the world, but it has also raised several concerns about the economic growth it brings. It has
been determined to be viable on both a national and international level. Due to the fact that it
encompasses various stages of life in general, it is often associated with crises and natural disasters.
It can be observed that disasters bring various forms of damages and disruptions to tourism in the
community, and the worst is economic loss. Globally, the number of disasters and casualties, as
well as the severity of disaster-related economic losses, have increased dramatically, and the
disaster crisis has become a barrier to the development of the community (Nian, et al, 2019).
