decided to use this for my social media news. This article
is about a big toy store - “ToysRUs” going bankrupt. This
is written by a freelance journalist as it is someone’s
instagram page. The target audience for this is males and
females aged 15-30. I think this has a big audience as
Instagram is used by wide audience. I found this on my
Instagram feed; this ended up on my feed as I follow
“THESHADEROOM” I also found this article quite
interesting as ToysRUs is a store I used to go to when I
was younger so hearing that it is going bankrupt is
shocking. The layout of the instagram post is having a
headline, with an image then it has a comments section;
the page also has a link so the audience are able to read
more about the article. This is similar to an article you
would find on Daily Mail or BuzzFeed. There isn’t much
content as there is a link for people to go read more on.
The news is presented in a similar style to an online
article. This article is to inform the audience about what
is going on with the to store.

I used an article from The Sun for my print news. This article is about
Robbie Williams who’s talking about his situation with drugs and how
he met his wife. He also talks about how therapy helped him change his
life around. The target audience for this article is fans or Robbie
Williams and people who read the sun. I have this as it is from the
newspaper I could find in my house and found this story interesting. I
think the age group it is aimed at is 20-40 as they are the group of people
who read newspapers as a younger audience prefer to go online to read
news or use social media. I think this type of news is aimed at both a
male and female audience. The style of print news is similar to all types
of news as there is a heading, content and images. This article is
presented well as everything is well organised. This article is to inform
the audience - this suits the audience as it is clear to read and well
organised.

For my TV news I decided to look at This Morning.This TV news show is
a “magazine style” as it talks about a mixture of news type topics. This
topic that was talked about on the show was about a boy whose school
won’t allow him to have dreadlocks as it is breaking school uniform
rules. Him and his mother came to tell the presenters what happened
when they first went to the school. The target audience for this type of
news would be people who enjoy watching daytime TV as This
Morning is shown at 10.30 - 12. I found this on the This Morning
website - I found this story interesting. I think this is mainly aimed at
women aged 18-30 who don’t working during the day as they are the
main group of people who watch daytime TV. As this is from the This
Morning website the article is similar to one you would find on an
online news page; it contains a heading, images and the main content.
At the bottom it has contact details and social media links. This type of
news is presented on TV with two presenters. The purpose of this type
of news is to inform and educate its audience.
