• Headline is the largest font on the paper to catch
attention
• Puns and alliteration headlines
• Vague headlines teasing you
• Headlines create the atmosphere of the page
• Regular articles don't usually use headlines
• STAND FIRSTS- Reveal more than the headline but not
enough for you to understand the article. They are a
short introduction before the article. Generally the top
left and only 1 sentence long.
• DROP CAPS- Large letters at the start of a column to
show where the reader should start reading.
• Artist name has to be large but not as large as the
headlining title.
• Captions of Artist name on photo as well as journalist
and photographer
• Line breaks separate paragraphs and columns. This
makes it easier to read.
• There should only be a max of 4 colours used
• The largest font on the page should be 11

• Main body ,ARTICLE, 11pt font, under title top left,
language and opinions of the journalist writing it.
