2. TYPE OF DOCUMENTARY AND THE
THEMES INVOLVED
The documentary is mixed which means it includes observational
footage, interviews, narration as well as archive footage.
The themes that take place within this documentary are: Poverty,
childhood, Food & Hunger, Wealth, Health & Depression and Family.
3. NARRATIVE STRUCTURE
Open: This means that the documentary's topic is still on going and
present within the world. Basically the issue the documentary covered
has not been resolved.
Single Stranded: There is only one topic covered in the documentary
4. CAMERAWORK
Handheld cameras provide realism and its easier to use in the set of
someone's house.
There is a mix if observational footage and interviews within the
documentary when the people are talking and being interviewed.
Shots used: Establishing shots, Mid Shots and the rule of thirds.
During the interviews mid close ups and role of thirds were used
extensively but also with cut away to the observational footage.
5. MISE-EN-SCENE
The mise en scene always as to be relevant to what is on screen and
the documentary. If the woman is talking about a food bank have her
placed within a foodbank.
The majority of the documentary had low key lighting for mood so
that we could empathise for the people in poverty. The times when
this was not the case was when the people went to the food banks
and churches. This changed to high key lighting possibly because
these places show hope and optimism for these people.
6. SOUND
Non Diegetic Sound:
Narration- Female voice using standard engluish with a kind tone.
This is because it allows everyone to understand the narration aswell
as allowing people to feel more appropriately to the documentary as
it is meant to be quite sad and not harsh.
The narration reads the quotes out that are being used aswell as
introducing the intervewiee/subject to the viewer whilst also driving
the narrative links between sections keeping them together.

7. EDITING & ARCHIVE MATERIAL

8. GRAPHICS
The graphics used are the titles at the beginning of the documentary,
the closing credits at the end of the documentary.
The quotes are placed on screen as the narrator is saying them so
that people are able to read it as well as hear it.
The hashtags are placed constantly through out the video.
