2. The first question I asked in my survey was the gender of the participant. This is to see
what gender people who want to watch my music video are likely to be. As you can
see from the graph, more men answered the questionnaire than women
3. The most common age range for people who answered my survey was age 16-20.
However, some people were also part of the 11-15 and 21-25 age range. No one who
answered my survey was over the age of 25 which suggests that fans of my music video
will be of a lower age range.
4. The most popular answer for the question ‘How often do you watch music videos?’ was
more than once a week. This means that my target audience clearly have a passion for
watching music videos as the majority of respondents picked the ‘more than once a
week’ category.
5. Out of 20 respondents, 16 said that rock was their favourite genre of music. This is a
good result as I am planning on making a rock genre music video anyway.
6. The most common music video type that the respondents said they liked was a
narrative based music video. However, performance and narrative based mixed came
closely behind.
7. The majority of people who answered the survey said that they access music videos online as
opposed to watching them on the TV. This could be down to fact that TV shows don’t show the
specific music video they would like to view and therefore they feel the need to use the internet to
find the music videos they personally like. Also adverts are quite a big issue for watching music
videos online as it can become very tedious if you keep watching the same adverts over and over
and the music channel you’re watching doesn’t show the specific video you would like to see.
8. The most common answer for the questions ‘where online do you watch music videos?’ was
YouTube. This could be due to the fact that videos are conventionally put on YouTube first and then
they’re put on the artist’ website or music channel website to promote the video further.
