9. Gender
Men have been represented as physically attractive in this
extract. This is because a close up has been used to put
emphasis on the fact that Freddie is physically attractive and
has the perfect âidealâ face. This is stereotypical as in the
media men are represented as physically attractive and are
meant to look perfect.
10. Age
Teenagers have been represented as reckless in this extract.
This has been emphasised through the use of a mid shot to
show Effy taking a drag on a cigarette before college. This is
stereotypical as teenagers are represented as being
rebellious and adolescent as they want to rebel against their
parents and society.
11. Ethnicity
Black people have been represented as poor and of
a lower social class to white people. This can be seen
when a mid shot reveals Thomas eating donuts in
scruffy clothing whilst sitting on the opposite side of
the bench to two white girls who are well dressed
and are of a wealthier family than Thomas. This is
stereotypical as black people tend to live in poorer
countries such as Africa that are represented as
poverty countries that need money from wealthier
counties such as England and America.
