FRANCE & SPAIN
FROM THE
PRINCIPAL’S DESK
At Queen Mary’s School, Tis Hazari, we believe that there is no substitute for ‘Education
Through Action’ and that exploring people, places, cultures, economic opportunities,
and technological advancements through travel, complements and completes the
educational experience. This philosophy matches our endeavor to create responsible and
dynamic global leaders and global citizens by bringing the knowledge of the world to the
classroom as well as encouraging students to go out into the world. These two methods
are essential to create empathy, understanding and International collaboration.
In line with this mission, our students recently journeyed to France and Spain. We
chose this program for its focus on exposing students to the rich culture and history
of two of Europe’s most-sought after destinations, France and Spain. To augment the
broader program, we selected the Young Authors Program, which ensured students’
engagement and experience. This Student Travel Chronicle (Photo book) is an outcome
of this collaborative and exploratory module that our students partook in along with the
students of Bal Bharati Public School, Ganga Ram Hospital Marg. It captures the entire
journey in students’ own words and photographs. It even showcases their learning from
the intense, eight-day interaction with two of the world’s most successful democratic
nations.
I would also like to recognize the efforts of EdTerra Edventures; a Truly Educational
School Trips company that is well aware of co-curricular and extra-curricular goals
and developmental needs of students. We acknowledge the contribution of their staff,
especially their on-journey educator, the Journey Mentor and Visa Assistance Services.
Their professionalism made the journey effortless, safe and enriching for each one of us.
I extend my heartfelt thanks to the students, who participated and engaged with
the program enthusiastically. I hope that each parent may feel proud of this highly
demonstrable publication that will keep reminding their daughters of their achievement
and capabilities, lifelong.
With best wishes,
Dr. (Ms) Ritu P. Solomon

LETTER FROM EDTERRA
TM
A journey to foreign soil is always replete with learning and excitement for any young and
inquisitive mind. When the destinations are as rich as France and Spain, one can only imagine
the myriad ways in which Indian students may absorb and construct learning out of the many
differences and similarities that mark the cultures and people of these great nations vis-à-vis our
own.
For EdTerra, an educational journey is about enabling students to construct knowledge through a
meaningful encounter with a new culture, without diluting their fun and excitement or restricting
their wandering, curious minds. EdTerra achieves this through its Program Development Team
(PDT), which is comprised of both Indian and international experts. The PDT carefully designs
culturally neutral tools that enable students to meaningfully observe, record and articulate their
impressions. These tools are deployed through a process that encourages teamwork, meaningful
discussions, recording observations through digital media and finally synthesizing all this into a
media product that showcases the ideas and learning of the students.
This publication, France & Spain, is one such media product that captures the eight day journey
of learning of the gifted students of Queen Mary’s School, Tis Hazari, along with the students of
Bal Bharati Public School, Ganga Ram Hospital Marg, to Paris, Madrid, Zaragoza and Barcelona, in
images and words. This beautiful book serves as a window into two of the most beautiful countries
of Europe – France and Spain, for those students, peers and parents who could not be a part of
the journey. It showcases the intellectual and creative capacities of the students, credit for which
is rightfully due to their parents and school.
EdTerra Edventures would like to thank Queen Mary’s School, Tis Hazari, for their efforts and
support which made this journey of discovery possible, with a special mention of the Principal, Dr.
(Ms) Ritu P. Solomon, for guiding us throughout the process of finalizing our journey plans. EdTerra
would also like to thank the accompanying teachers, for their sense of adventure and dynamism
that the French call joie de vivre. Their energy made our jobs easy, and more importantly, made for
a more memorable journey for the students. We encourage you to read on and re-live the learning
and adventures of these students through the words and photographs that follow.
Sincerely,
Christine Massey

OUR JOURNEY
OUR JOURNEY (Queen Mary’s School)
Written and Photographed by: Drishti, Gursejal, Moksha, Shruti, Simran Tanya
On our first day,we visited Bateau Mouche, which
offers a cruise down the River Seine. The cruise
covers 37 bridges built across the River Seine,
and we sailed under the oldest bridge as well.
On our boat, we enjoyed the mesmerizing view
of the Eiffel Tower.
On the second day, we visited the Eiffel Tower,
which was built by Gustave Eiffel as the main
exhibit of the Paris Exposition (World’s Fair) of
1889. The glorious and luscious view from the
Eiffel Tower is really breathtaking. Paris has
many parks for people to enjoy life and to get
away from their own stressful and hectic lifestyle.
Then we went to Louvre Museum where there
were so many beautiful and different types of
sculptures and paintings.Various sculptures and
paintings made by famous artists are displayed
in the museum,one of them being“Mona Lisa”by
Leonardo da Vinci. It is believed to be the most
famous painting in the world.
The next day, we went to Disneyland, where we
met many Disney characters, enjoyed many rides
and watched the beautiful Disney parade. We
enjoyed a number of rides and had the time of
our lives in this paradise.
Then we travelled to Zaragoza and Barcelona.
Barcelona is home to some of the greatest artists
of the world. The great artist Pablo Picasso is also
from Gaudi’s city.We also went on a tour of the city.
Next day we went to the Montjuïc Castle, from
where the views were amazing and beautiful. It
is an old military fortress which is built on top
of Montjuïc hill in Barcelona. At the end of the
trip we went to see the intense and amazing
Flamenco dance performance. After Barcelona
we visited the beautiful city of Madrid, which is
also the capital of Spain. We visited the Santiago
Bernabeu Stadium where we enjoyed exploring
the world of football.
We are going to miss travelling in this beautiful
place.

PARIS (Queen Mary’s School)

Paris is the perfect mixture of authenticity,
modesty and tradition. Paris is the most visited
city in the world. As being a moderately
populated city, Paris has managed to keep its
shining gems. We took a boat ride down the
Seine River, Paris with 37 bridges along the way.
We also saw the ‘New One’ which is interestingly
the oldest bridge on the river.
We visited the world famous Louvre Museum.
We saw many French paintings like the crowd
favorite, Mona Lisa and historic paintings like
Lady of Liberty and Raft of Medusa. The Louvre
Museum changed our view about paintings.
There are 400 rooms in that museum. There were
different rooms describing a particular Empire
and depicting the historical culture of France and
Europe. The Louvre has some of the most famous
displays of the world. Various sculptures and
paintings made by famous artists are displayed
in the museum, one of them being “Mona Lisa”
by Leonardo da Vinci. It was kept behind a bullet
proof glass. It is believed to be the most famous
painting in the world.
In Paris we also learnt how the Eiffel Tower
survived all the debates against it, to making
its way to the world’s tallest tower which was
much later surpassed by Chrysler Building. The
glorious and luscious view from the Eiffel Tower
is really breathtaking. Paris has many parks for
people to enjoy life and to get away from their
own stressful and hectic lifestyle. In Paris, a
person’s reputation depends on the vehicle he/
she uses.
In Disneyland, Paris we experienced something
beyond our imagination as every ride was
different from the other, so that there is no space
for boredom. And the beautiful Disney Parade
was the cherry on top. Sacré-Cœur Basilica was
another peaceful place we visited in Paris after
the cruise. The way the Basilica was constructed
and at the height it was located, it offered
incredible views. The beauty of the Basilica was
not only from the outside, but it was also peaceful
and relaxing from the inside.

PARIS - A TOURIST DELIGHT

Paris is a city of lights for the way the entire city
is lit up, but it is known as a ‘City of Light’ for all
the genius minds who have worked in Paris. It is
surely one of the most picturesque cities in the
world. One can see the perfect blend of fashion,
culture, art and music in Paris.
After a long tiring day of travelling for more
than 10 hours, cruising along the river in Paris,
exploring the city of love was a rejuvenating
experience. The next day was much awaited, as
we were excited to see Mona Lisa by Leonardo
da Vinci, the painting of a lady who is claimed
to have the most beautiful and mysterious smile
also known as the Mona Lisa.
In the Louvre Museum, we saw many pre-historic
objects and artifacts along with jaw-dropping
sculptures and paintings. Then we visited one of
the famous cathedrals of the world, Notre Dame
Cathedral, one of the finest examples of Gothic
architecture in France.
Oh! When we talk about architecture how can we
forget about the Iron Tower i.e. Eiffel Tower. It is
named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose
company designed and built the tower. The tower
is 324 metres (1,063 ft) tall, about the same height
as an 81-storey building, and the tallest structure
in Paris. The tower has three levels for visitors,
with restaurants on the first and second levels.
The view from Eiffel Tower was amazing.
After seeing all the beautiful sculptures, we
spent our last day in Paris at Disneyland. Rides
in Fantasyland, Discoveryland, Frontierland and
Adventureland were the most amazing part of
the Paris trip. The Disney Parade showcased
all Disney characters like Mickey Mouse,
Minnie Mouse, Rapunzel and Belle and left us
spellbound.
Our visit to Paris was fulfilling,as we got to see all
the places we had only heard about. We shopped
too, and had a blast during the time we were in
Paris. Overall, our trip to the culinary capital of
the world was the best part of our journey and at
the end we would like to say J’aime Paris (I love
Paris).

MADRID
MADRID (Bal Bharati Public School)

Madrid is the capital city of Spain and the third
largest city of the European Union. It is the largest
city of Spain and one of the greenest cites in
Europe. The well-known Flamenco Dance and
guitar originated here. Madrid was built in the
9th century to protect the capital city of Toledo.
It has been the capital of Spain since the 17th
century. The symbol of Madrid is ‘A bear eating
fruit from a tree’.
Some of the most famous sites in Madrid are the
Royal Palace, Royal Theater, the Prado Museum
and Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. Reina Sofia
Museum in Madrid has works of famous artists
like Pablo Picasso and Joan Miró.One of Picasso’s
most famous paintings ‘Guernica’ is placed here
on exhibition.
The beautiful structure of the Royal Palace was
a captivating site for us. It is the most famous
attraction of Madrid. We met our guide there and
we came to know many interesting facts about
the palace and the history of Spain and Madrid.
We also saw a huge painting of the present royal
family. It is the official residence of the royal
family but is only used for state ceremonies. It
has around 3418 rooms and was built between
1738 and 1755. We went to many rooms in the
palace and we imagined how lucky we would be
to live in such a palace. It had around 400 clocks
and 5 special violins.
Real Madrid is one of the most important and
famous football clubs in the world and the most
successful in Spain. The visit to the Santiago
Bernabéu Stadium was the best part of our trip in
Madrid. This stadium is in the heart of the city. The
Real Madrid football team plays many matches
in this stadium. We first enjoyed a panoramic
view from the highest point of the stadium. Then
we went on an audio-visual interactive journey
through the history of the best club of the 20th
century. We also got to walk through the players’
dressing room.
Visiting Madrid was a very fascinating and
exciting experience. The people here were very
friendly and welcoming. The weather was nice
and there were many exciting things to see and
do.

When you talk about Spain, you feel butterflies
in your stomach. The cities of Spain; Madrid,
Barcelona, Zaragoza, just their names can give
you jitters.
Barcelona, the city of football, is a spectacular
place to visit. A person who visits Barcelona will
get addicted to the place. The people are very
friendly here; they are helpful and fun loving.
The food of Barcelona is scrumptious too.We got
to sample lots of Spanish food when we were in
Barcelona.
Barcelona is the second largest city of Spain
and is located in the heart of Spain. This city is
home to some of the most famous buildings
which includes Sagrada Família, a famous church
designed of Antoni Gaudi. Our guide told us
many interesting facts about the construction
and history of the church. On the central
doorway of the church is depicted the nativity
scene with Jesus, Mary and Joseph, beneath the
star of Bethlehem. The church has been under
construction for a long time and it is still under
construction. It is said that the construction of the
church will be completed by 2026. It is really a
breathtaking monument. The most stunning part
of the church was the stained glass panels inside
the church, in different colors. The cool colored
blue and green windows represent air and water
and the warm colored red and orange windows
represent fire and earth. And they are absolutely
stunning.
You can visit the most famous street of Barcelona,
La Ramblas. But do not forget to visit Park
Güell,a public park located on Carmel Hill,
Barcelona. Do not miss eating Pizza filled with
cheese, the traditional food of Spain, as well
as the unforgettable Flamenco dance that is
an important part of Spain’s unique culture.
Barcelona is home to some of the greatest artists
of the world. The great artist Pablo Picasso is also
from Gaudi’s city.
Overall, Barcelona was a nice experience, the
food was good, the weather was pleasant and the
people were friendly. And as it is said‘Zindagi na
Milegi Dobara’; let’s enjoy our life to the fullest
and mix with the culture of Spain in Barcelona,
for there is no space for rehearsals in real life.

Hey! I am Mansi Rohatgi and I study in Class 12. Travelling and dancing are my
hobbies. Our journey to Paris and Spain was an amazing experience. I was excited
to travel to Paris, the fashion hub. France and Spain trip were compiled with
education and adventure in a perfect ratio. Travelling alone with my friends to
the hotspots like Eiffel Tower, Disneyland and Royal Palace was the best part of my
trip. I travelled for the first time with EdTerra and it was a great experience. I was
very happy with the journey and felt a bit sad going back home.
Muskan Singh
I am Muskan Singh and I study in Class 12. I love shopping, dancing, eating and
clicking pictures. We travelled to the world’s most romantic city, ‘Paris’. The places
I enjoyed visiting the most were Eiffel Tower and Disneyland. The best part of the
trip was travelling with my friends. My friends are my life and I love them. I fell in
love with ‘Europe’. Paris est plus belle sous la pluie! (Paris is more beautiful in the
rain). “Travelling is like flirting with life. It’s like saying I would stay and love you,
but I have to go. This is my station.” - Lisa St. Aubin de Teran

Sanya Malhotra
Hey! I am Sanya Malhotra and I study in Class 11. My hobbies are acting and dancing.
EdTerra gave us an opportunity to explore places like Paris, Madrid, Barcelona
and Zaragoza. It was so exciting to see such beautiful places. I got to learn many
things about their culture, architecture and history. As I have mentioned above
that my hobby is dancing, so I really enjoyed watching the Flamenco dance. The
beach was so relaxing. Best part was the church and Disneyland. Disneyland was
so huge and because of that I was not able to explore it completely.
Rishika Goel
Hey! I am Rishika Goel and I study in Class 12. I love to travel the world and love
to know about the beauty of the world. I love travelling with EdTerra Edventures
as they always plan mind-blowing trips. We travelled to the most romantic city
‘Paris’. We visited Eiffel Tower, the most popular tower that represents this country.
After Paris we went to Spain, acountry filled with talent. I felt very happy, when I
interacted with friendly local people and conversed with them in Spanish. This is
my last school trip with EdTerra and in the future I’ll love to work with them.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS
TEACHERS
(QUEEN MARY’S SCHOOL)
With dreamy eyes along with our group of students we embarked on an
enlightening trip. The trip proved to be truly educational as we toured along the
alleys of Guimet Museum and Louvre Museum, loaded with fun at Disneyland and
entertainment at the theatres of Barcelona while watching the Flamenco Dance.
Visits to the Cathedral of Notre Dame and Sacre Couer in Paris and the Basilica of
Lady of Pilar in Zaragoza gave an overview of the intricate European architecture.
We had evolved as more informed beings with an appreciative spirit for the art,
culture and diverse beliefs of the people around the globe. I profoundly thank my
honourable Principal, Dr. Ms. Ritu P. Solomon for this golden opportunity.
Nirupam Singh
Sumati Arya
I am Sumati Arya, Sanskrit T.G.T in Queen Mary’s School. Not being a traveler at
all, when my Principal, Dr. Ritu P. Solomon asked me to accompany a group of
students to Paris and Madrid, I was a little hesitant. However, all my doubts proved
to be unfounded at the end of the journey. The trip was really delightful and highly
educational. It was a nice experience to visit the famous monuments, churches
and stadiums in Paris, Madrid and Barcelona. The visit to Disneyland was fun
and the students enjoyed the rides and the parade. I deeply thank my honorable
Principal for giving me the opportunity to be a part of this fun-filled trip.
Mrs. Shashi Sahni
I am Shashi Sahni, age 51 years, with the experience of 28 years of teaching History
and Civics to the secondary level. This group taught me the interactive process
of teaching children with the help of real teaching aids. The students became
really interested in knowing the art, culture and history of a country through this
journey. Overall this journey helped me evolve as a teacher by teaching me new
ways to arouse curiosity and interest in students towards their studies. Hats off to
EdTerra Edventures for organizing such a marvelous journey!
Neha Chandna
A bohemian at heart! I, Neha Chandna, am working as PGT Chemistry at Bal
Bharati Public School. The trip was a magnificent and splendid experience. It was
fun-filled and joyous where apart from learning about the history and culture
of Spain and France, we as a group learnt various values. Seeing the students
taking full responsibility and leading was satisfying as a teacher. The highlights of
the trip were Eiffel Tower, Santiago Stadium and Disneyland along with a terrific
Flamenco performance. All in all a worthwhile trip!

Young Authors Program – France & Spain

  • 2. FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK At Queen Mary’s School, Tis Hazari, we believe that there is no substitute for ‘Education Through Action’ and that exploring people, places, cultures, economic opportunities, and technological advancements through travel, complements and completes the educational experience. This philosophy matches our endeavor to create responsible and dynamic global leaders and global citizens by bringing the knowledge of the world to the classroom as well as encouraging students to go out into the world. These two methods are essential to create empathy, understanding and International collaboration. In line with this mission, our students recently journeyed to France and Spain. We chose this program for its focus on exposing students to the rich culture and history of two of Europe’s most-sought after destinations, France and Spain. To augment the broader program, we selected the Young Authors Program, which ensured students’ engagement and experience. This Student Travel Chronicle (Photo book) is an outcome of this collaborative and exploratory module that our students partook in along with the students of Bal Bharati Public School, Ganga Ram Hospital Marg. It captures the entire journey in students’ own words and photographs. It even showcases their learning from the intense, eight-day interaction with two of the world’s most successful democratic nations. I would also like to recognize the efforts of EdTerra Edventures; a Truly Educational School Trips company that is well aware of co-curricular and extra-curricular goals and developmental needs of students. We acknowledge the contribution of their staff, especially their on-journey educator, the Journey Mentor and Visa Assistance Services. Their professionalism made the journey effortless, safe and enriching for each one of us. I extend my heartfelt thanks to the students, who participated and engaged with the program enthusiastically. I hope that each parent may feel proud of this highly demonstrable publication that will keep reminding their daughters of their achievement and capabilities, lifelong. With best wishes, Dr. (Ms) Ritu P. Solomon Principal Queen Mary’s School, Tis Hazari
  • 3. LETTER FROM EDTERRA TM A journey to foreign soil is always replete with learning and excitement for any young and inquisitive mind. When the destinations are as rich as France and Spain, one can only imagine the myriad ways in which Indian students may absorb and construct learning out of the many differences and similarities that mark the cultures and people of these great nations vis-à-vis our own. For EdTerra, an educational journey is about enabling students to construct knowledge through a meaningful encounter with a new culture, without diluting their fun and excitement or restricting their wandering, curious minds. EdTerra achieves this through its Program Development Team (PDT), which is comprised of both Indian and international experts. The PDT carefully designs culturally neutral tools that enable students to meaningfully observe, record and articulate their impressions. These tools are deployed through a process that encourages teamwork, meaningful discussions, recording observations through digital media and finally synthesizing all this into a media product that showcases the ideas and learning of the students. This publication, France & Spain, is one such media product that captures the eight day journey of learning of the gifted students of Queen Mary’s School, Tis Hazari, along with the students of Bal Bharati Public School, Ganga Ram Hospital Marg, to Paris, Madrid, Zaragoza and Barcelona, in images and words. This beautiful book serves as a window into two of the most beautiful countries of Europe – France and Spain, for those students, peers and parents who could not be a part of the journey. It showcases the intellectual and creative capacities of the students, credit for which is rightfully due to their parents and school. EdTerra Edventures would like to thank Queen Mary’s School, Tis Hazari, for their efforts and support which made this journey of discovery possible, with a special mention of the Principal, Dr. (Ms) Ritu P. Solomon, for guiding us throughout the process of finalizing our journey plans. EdTerra would also like to thank the accompanying teachers, for their sense of adventure and dynamism that the French call joie de vivre. Their energy made our jobs easy, and more importantly, made for a more memorable journey for the students. We encourage you to read on and re-live the learning and adventures of these students through the words and photographs that follow. Sincerely, Christine Massey Senior Manager, Program Development Team

  • 8. OUR JOURNEY (Queen Mary’s School) Written and Photographed by: Drishti, Gursejal, Moksha, Shruti, Simran Tanya On our first day,we visited Bateau Mouche, which offers a cruise down the River Seine. The cruise covers 37 bridges built across the River Seine, and we sailed under the oldest bridge as well. On our boat, we enjoyed the mesmerizing view of the Eiffel Tower. On the second day, we visited the Eiffel Tower, which was built by Gustave Eiffel as the main exhibit of the Paris Exposition (World’s Fair) of 1889. The glorious and luscious view from the Eiffel Tower is really breathtaking. Paris has many parks for people to enjoy life and to get away from their own stressful and hectic lifestyle. Then we went to Louvre Museum where there were so many beautiful and different types of sculptures and paintings.Various sculptures and paintings made by famous artists are displayed in the museum, one of them being“Mona Lisa”by Leonardo da Vinci. It is believed to be the most famous painting in the world. The next day, we went to Disneyland, where we met many Disney characters, enjoyed many rides and watched the beautiful Disney parade. We enjoyed a number of rides and had the time of our lives in this paradise. Then we travelled to Zaragoza and Barcelona. Barcelona is home to some of the greatest artists of the world. The great artist Pablo Picasso is also from Gaudi’s city.We also went on a tour of the city. Next day we went to the Montjuïc Castle, from where the views were amazing and beautiful. It is an old military fortress which is built on top of Montjuïc hill in Barcelona. At the end of the trip we went to see the intense and amazing Flamenco dance performance. After Barcelona we visited the beautiful city of Madrid, which is also the capital of Spain. We visited the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium where we enjoyed exploring the world of football. We are going to miss travelling in this beautiful place. 03

  • 16. PARIS (Queen Mary’s School) Written and Photographed by: Annamta, Ananya, Laiba, Manya, Masira Tisya Paris is the perfect mixture of authenticity, modesty and tradition. Paris is the most visited city in the world. As being a moderately populated city, Paris has managed to keep its shining gems. We took a boat ride down the Seine River, Paris with 37 bridges along the way. We also saw the ‘New One’ which is interestingly the oldest bridge on the river. We visited the world famous Louvre Museum. We saw many French paintings like the crowd favorite, Mona Lisa and historic paintings like Lady of Liberty and Raft of Medusa. The Louvre Museum changed our view about paintings. There are 400 rooms in that museum. There were different rooms describing a particular Empire and depicting the historical culture of France and Europe. The Louvre has some of the most famous displays of the world. Various sculptures and paintings made by famous artists are displayed in the museum, one of them being “Mona Lisa” by Leonardo da Vinci. It was kept behind a bullet proof glass. It is believed to be the most famous painting in the world. In Paris we also learnt how the Eiffel Tower survived all the debates against it, to making its way to the world’s tallest tower which was much later surpassed by Chrysler Building. The glorious and luscious view from the Eiffel Tower is really breathtaking. Paris has many parks for people to enjoy life and to get away from their own stressful and hectic lifestyle. In Paris, a person’s reputation depends on the vehicle he/ she uses. In Disneyland, Paris we experienced something beyond our imagination as every ride was different from the other, so that there is no space for boredom. And the beautiful Disney Parade was the cherry on top. Sacré-Cœur Basilica was another peaceful place we visited in Paris after the cruise. The way the Basilica was constructed and at the height it was located, it offered incredible views. The beauty of the Basilica was not only from the outside, but it was also peaceful and relaxing from the inside. 11

  • 24. PARIS - A TOURIST DELIGHT (Bal Bharati Public School ) Written and Photographed by: Ameya, Anushka, Divyansha, Kabir, Kanav Tavsidak Paris is a city of lights for the way the entire city is lit up, but it is known as a ‘City of Light’ for all the genius minds who have worked in Paris. It is surely one of the most picturesque cities in the world. One can see the perfect blend of fashion, culture, art and music in Paris. After a long tiring day of travelling for more than 10 hours, cruising along the river in Paris, exploring the city of love was a rejuvenating experience. The next day was much awaited, as we were excited to see Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci, the painting of a lady who is claimed to have the most beautiful and mysterious smile also known as the Mona Lisa. In the Louvre Museum, we saw many pre-historic objects and artifacts along with jaw-dropping sculptures and paintings. Then we visited one of the famous cathedrals of the world, Notre Dame Cathedral, one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in France. Oh! When we talk about architecture how can we forget about the Iron Tower i.e. Eiffel Tower. It is named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower. The tower is 324 metres (1,063 ft) tall, about the same height as an 81-storey building, and the tallest structure in Paris. The tower has three levels for visitors, with restaurants on the first and second levels. The view from Eiffel Tower was amazing. After seeing all the beautiful sculptures, we spent our last day in Paris at Disneyland. Rides in Fantasyland, Discoveryland, Frontierland and Adventureland were the most amazing part of the Paris trip. The Disney Parade showcased all Disney characters like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Rapunzel and Belle and left us spellbound. Our visit to Paris was fulfilling,as we got to see all the places we had only heard about. We shopped too, and had a blast during the time we were in Paris. Overall, our trip to the culinary capital of the world was the best part of our journey and at the end we would like to say J’aime Paris (I love Paris). 19

The cities of Spain; Madrid, Barcelona, Zaragoza, just their names can give you jitters. Barcelona, the city of football, is a spectacular place to visit. A person who visits Barcelona will get addicted to the place. The people are very friendly here; they are helpful and fun loving. The food of Barcelona is scrumptious too.We got to sample lots of Spanish food when we were in Barcelona. Barcelona is the second largest city of Spain and is located in the heart of Spain. This city is home to some of the most famous buildings which includes Sagrada Família, a famous church designed of Antoni Gaudi. Our guide told us many interesting facts about the construction and history of the church. On the central doorway of the church is depicted the nativity scene with Jesus, Mary and Joseph, beneath the star of Bethlehem. The church has been under construction for a long time and it is still under construction. It is said that the construction of the church will be completed by 2026. It is really a breathtaking monument. The most stunning part of the church was the stained glass panels inside the church, in different colors. The cool colored blue and green windows represent air and water and the warm colored red and orange windows represent fire and earth. And they are absolutely stunning. You can visit the most famous street of Barcelona, La Ramblas. But do not forget to visit Park Güell,a public park located on Carmel Hill, Barcelona. Do not miss eating Pizza filled with cheese, the traditional food of Spain, as well as the unforgettable Flamenco dance that is an important part of Spain’s unique culture. Barcelona is home to some of the greatest artists of the world. The great artist Pablo Picasso is also from Gaudi’s city. Overall, Barcelona was a nice experience, the food was good, the weather was pleasant and the people were friendly. And as it is said‘Zindagi na Milegi Dobara’; let’s enjoy our life to the fullest and mix with the culture of Spain in Barcelona, for there is no space for rehearsals in real life. 35
