working Title:
OneUp PC
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Product’s Purpose:
Magazine: To inform PC gaming fans about new and popular Pc games bot indie and
mainstream. There will be adverts for my ‘brand’ that will be present amongst all of my
medias and I will also make small community based sections in which ‘fans’ can talk to the
magazine brand’smakers and ask pressing questions or maybe even suggest any changes.
T-Shirt: To show off the brand of my magazine and YouTube video based products. The
logo will be emphasised extremely more than the rest of the t-shirt to show the world my
brand and open it up to an extended audience.
Video Tutorial: This particular product’s purpose will be balanced between educating and
entertaining. The video will be entertaining in the respect that the audience will be able to
watch the battle unfold as I give the information out and if they are not wanting to learn
anything in particular, they could just sit and see the fighting and gameplay. As for the
educating side, I will be showing new and experienced playersinformation in the many
aspects of the game such as unit types, tactics and general facts.
What is the product’s purpose (entertain/educate etc.) and how will you achieve this?
Genre:
I will be creating a PC gaming magazine with a main purpose of covering news on Total
War. This means that it will be an RTS based mag (Real Time Strategy). My next media will
be a graphical design product. My t-shirt will have the logo design for my brand and will be
available through an online store called ‘redbubble.co.uk’.
The last media product I shall be making will be a gaming video on YouTube bringing life to
the brand that I had created.
What sort of product is it
Content
Magazine/T-Shirt: My magazine isbased on the reviewing side of gaming. It will include
sections in which ‘fans’ can communicate with the creators and give their own point of view
on different game designs and reviews. It will feature one page with a game review that
details the plot of the game, the modes and quite a detailed description of what the game
features. The other page will have a link for the website in which my T-Shirt will be available
on and an advert for my T-Shirt, showing it off and selling it.
Video Tutorial: My video aspect will be a battle created in Total War that showcases the
units and a couple tactics available to the player in the game. I will begin with introducing
my channel to the internet and explaining how my channel will be set up. I will then move
on to detailing the unit comps and what to expect in the current video. Units will be shown
both up close and from afar. Once, the ‘planning’ stage has finished, the video will move
onto the actual battle in which the ‘fan’ will use tactics to beat or lose against the enemy. I
will edit this part of the video to show the more intense and fun parts of the battle.
What is your product about? Discuss what you would put in it (be specific). Does it have a story? If
so, discuss it here
Research & Planning
Where will you use elements of your research and planning to influence and inform your final idea
(be specific to certain parts)
I will use the general style of Pixelated Apollo’srecording and game play. A popular colour
combination of black and yellow will be used in my logo. In turn, the logo will be seen
across all of my medias. I will use the simplistic design of most gaming magazine covers to
clearly distribute my information to the audience. All of the information and ideas that I

gather from the mediasI researched will be useful to use because they are all well known
and respected sources that have ended up being
Audience:
My audience will be 16+, male and enjoy action videos with a decent but still varying pace in a
battle. My project will appeal to the audience by showing the best angles of the fighting and
keeping the pace rather fast to keep the younger side of the audience interested and excited. My
audience’s social status will be older teens still somewhat dependent on others for some money
but who also has an income from a job. This is because there are plenty of merchandise items and
a branded magazine to be released instead of just a free YouTube video. If a fan wanted to get
more involved, they would need money. Their psychograph will be a belonger as I will be creating
a brand to link the medias together. The fans will want to buy merchandise and affiliated products
to further familiarise themselves with the brand and recognize other fans.
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc.
Why would your project appeal to this person?
Legal & Ethical Considerations:
I will not include any offensive material.
I will restrict anyone under the age of the game’s recommendation from watching to comply with
the creators.
No ethnic/religions/racial groups will be offended in my video as every faction will be addressed
equally.
I will be using the Total War logo in my magazine and some characters/units from in the game.
My product will be sufficiently different from existing products by keeping within the game’s
creator’s guidelines and following the trend set from existing youtubers such as Pixelated Apollo
and JackieFish.
My products with adverts on them will not mislead customers or audiences.
The advertising will be clear, precise and will not give anyone false presumptions on any aspect of
the media. My T-shirt designs will not feature any potential distressing images or prints that could
make the audience feel uneasy or offended. Although it is very unlikely that this type of design
would be used, any children used in my designs will not be portrayed doing any unsafe activities.
No designs of mine will feature potentially violence behaviour stirring content and will be kept kid
friendly.
Think about any offensive material you will include?
Will you restrict younger people using/accessing it?
Will it offend any social groups/religions/ethnicities?
How will you ensure you do not offend anyone?
Are you using characters/names/logos of existing products/IPs?
Will you product be sufficiently different from existing products to not get sued for copyright
infringement?
