Try to get gossip out of the guests
by putting them 'under the

sensitive topics (and usually silly/funny
topics too) and giving their own view on
the situations - also leaving space for the
viewers to react with their own opinions
afterwards.
Bringing in guests from franchises

more to the point with playing music and getting information across to the
audience and then the latter part of the show will be more about chatting to

upcoming artists – however there is still a large portion of people who would like

25. Research Evaluation
• Give an overview of how you conducted your research.
Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each method
– Product Research
• I gathered examples of different existing shows that bear the same purpose and
include the same kind of content. This helped give me a general direction for my
show to go in and gave ideas on what I could add in and what new features that
haven’t been used before that I could add in.
– Questionnaires
• The questionnaires were made on Surveymonkey.com and sent through the
messenger app to the precipitants. The questionnaires enabled me to gain the
opinions an ideas of the public and see what ideas would work and what ideas
would need more work. In my survey, I asked questions about what types of
content should be in it. (comedy/serious/etc)
– Interviews
I conducted the interviews with classmates about my product and i found pretty much the
same findins as with my questionnaire answers. The only difference being that the answers
given were more specific.
26. Research Evaluation
– What sort of a response did you get?
All but one person who answered my survey were aged 16-20 – the one that wasn’t
was aged between 21-30. This shows that the majority of people who would listen to
my show would be in the younger majority. Most of the people preferred comedy
shows to any of the others stated on the survey. When it came to preferred length of a
show, there were mixed answers but mostly favouring the hour mark. The favourite
genre of music was mixed too but most favoured rock music. More people preferred
type of presenter that is more to the point and not too talkative. Not many people like
interviews with upcoming artists showing that they are not too welcoming of
something new to the radio. This means I will keep my show original. The majority of
the surveyors were female. Hardly any people like radio dramas so I will not base my
show around any kind of drama. The most popular show out of the shows I gave to the
survey users is 5 live. Due to this, I will make my show more similar and resembling of
it.
– How did you distribute your survey? Give an advantage and a disadvantage
I distributed my survey by sending it to classmates through the messenger app on
Facebook. The advantage of this is that I am guaranteed to get answers that are from
people that go to college and that would be more likely to listen to the show.
The disadvantage of the way I distributed my survey is that if not enough of the
people did it then I would not have enough range in the answers.
