2. Front Cover Process
• I used Adobe Photoshop to edit all of the the front cover. I did
you PowerPoint a little bit to help remove backgrounds from
images I used in the FP. I went for a mix between FourFourTwo
and MOTD designs with the merge of players and the stand out
title technique. It was quite difficult to begin with as I have
barely used Photoshop but when I begin getting deep into it I
begin to increase my skills and create a good trail FP.
• For my second design I wanted to use lots of shapes to design my FP,
with banners for texts for example. Also I used PowerPoint a lot with
this design as I needed to remove backgrounds from the football
players I used. This deemed very difficult as I had to stop using some
photos as it was near impossible to correctly remove all the
background and still keeping the football player in full. Also I
experimented with the shape of text with the Alexis Sanchez section
(center). I rotated the text around the circle. This was very easy to
do.
3. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
• I will use lots of design ideas from my experiments I did, this includes..
• PowerPoint. I will be using PowerPoint a lot to remove backgrounds from images (pre editing)
as it is a lot easier then removing background from Photoshop Adobe. However sometimes it
can deem difficult to do as for Football lots of background will be colourful background so the
program might believe the background is part of the player.
• Shapes. I will be using lots of shapes from Google for my final design. The shape will be used
as banners for text so it looks more professional and neat, also will be used to make the
design look as good as possible. For example on the second experiment (Yellow one) on the
top right.
• Adobe Photoshop. I will obviously be using Photoshop for my core program for my magazine
as it has the most features on to make.
4. Double Page Process
The DP was designed over a football manger legend’s all
time XI. I used Adobe Photoshop to edit majority of the
DP. The only part I did not use Adobe Photoshop for is to
remove background of the players on the right page. To
remove the background I used PowerPoint as it is much
easier than Photoshop. For the football pitch I googled
“black” and inserted it in and scaled it into line and lined
out the makes. For the two semi circles I did a similar
approach and simply googled “black semi circle” and
removed the background on PowerPoint and then added
to Photoshop and scaled. The banners for the players was
the hardest to do in the whole of the process of the DP. I
used the square and the semi circle I used for the pitch
and positioned them. After that I highlighted them all
with the “quick selection tool” and changed the colour
after that I quick exported it and added to the DP.
Duplicated it 11 times and positioned them in place.
5. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
• Adobe Photoshop – I will be using as it is the easiest program to develop at DP as it
is user friendly and been using it since I started college. This means I will be able to
make the best DP possible.
• PowerPoint – PowerPoint is very goodPhotoshop to use to remove backgrounds as
it very simple to use and a lot easier to use compared to Adobe Photoshop. For
this reason I will be using it in my Final Production.
• Google – I used Google to get all my images and facts about the players, so it
would be stupid to not use it in my Final Production.
