2. Chest Pumping Scene
• The scene begins with DiCaprio and McConaughey at a dinning table and
continues with this throughout. The camera set up is 3 different angles, the
first one is to the right of DiCaprio facing McConaughey, the second one is
in the middle of the table making both actors in the shot, the third camera
is on the left of McConaughey facing DiCaprio. The 2-camera facing the
certain actor(s) are short shots with the camera in the middle being a
medium long shot. This gives the audience a better understanding of the
scenery of where they are. All three of the shots are all still. The table is
placed next to a wide window on a high level of a skyscraper with a great
view of New York. This first gives a good lighting of the scene and second
shows how wealthy the industry DiCaprio is getting into in the script to the
audience. The audio of this scene is all made by person worn mics with
only three people included in the audio, DiCaprio, McConaughey and a
waiter who comes at the beginning of the scene.
3. FBI Yacht Scene
• The scene begins with the FBI agents entering the yacht from a distance
shot with DiCaprio welcoming them already aboard the yacht. The rest of
the scene is DiCaprio and the main FBI agent talking. The camera are all
close distance to give a close interaction with the audience to the storyline.
The scene is very bright with it being taken outside on a sunny day. The
audio is all person worn mics with the background audio being manly
waves hitting the shore and seagulls with the occasional cars/vans driving
past. At the end of the scene the FBI agents leave the yacht with DiCaprio
throwing 2 Lobsters at them and a “years salary” of cash at them. The
camera are medium range to long range with one of the cameras being to
the right of DiCaprio and the second camera being the middle of the yacht
following the FBI agents along a narrow pier after they have already left
the yacht.
4. Sell Me This Pen Scene
• The scene starts of with a close shot of each actor introducing them
in the storyline. The scene is in a very busy American diner. The scene
is quite a dark scene with not the greatest lighting. The scene is set on
a table with them all eating. After the close ups, the camera shifts
over to DiCaprio prepping the rest of them. The audio for this is
mainly person worn mic with lots of background sounds such as,
talking of other customers/staff, clashing of cutlery etc. The cameras
are all close/medium range which like the first two scenes I have gone
other, it gives the audience an involvement to the scene.
