DUTIES : Sales targets
• Daily sales performance and commitments
discussions with Regional Managers.
• Confirming action plans are in place in each store
and are monitored to achieve targets.
• Follow up on national marketing campaigns and
ensuring that additional in store promotions are
implemented and monitored.
• Measuring and monitoring of the catalogue
distribution to obtain maximum return.
Budgeting
• Responsible for the setting of budgets across the
division.
Net profit
• Ensuring effective cost control and value added
products to produce the profits required.
• Provide training to staff to ensure the income
statement is understood and actioned.
Margins
• Responsible for maintaining margin targets.
Debtors control
• Accountable for my division’s collections target in

terms of installments, accounts in arrears and
default accounts.
Stock control
• Remain within budgeted stockholding and maintain
the right stock mix per store.
Performance management
• Conduct monthly reviews where all aspects of the
regions and stores are addressed and corrective
measurable plans are agreed upon. Weekly follow
up on poor performing stores to ensure
implementation of the action plans and to change
actions where required. Quarterly performance
appraisals done and measured against key result
areas based on each employees job grade.
Training and development
• Assisting with advice and guidance to employees
undergoing training courses to ensure assignment
dates are met within the required time frames.
Identifying employees for succession planning,
implementing on the job training and
recommending courses to develop skills.
Staff recruitment
• Responsible for the staff recruitment process.
Industrial relations
• Experienced in performance counseling
procedures. Have chaired numerous disciplinary
hearings and have defended the company at
CCMA and arbitration.
