2. THE LAST PIECE
FADE IN:
EXT. CRIME SCENE - NIGHT
The crime scene, York, River. Grim dark sky, moonlight
shines to the water, officers plague the scene. A body tied
to a lamp post, the street light flashing, a blood soak bag
lays upon their head, two slit wrists and a wooden box in
either hand.
Rain pours as lights flash from photographers on the scene.
Detective Ripley, A tall lean man,trench coat long and gray,
bowler hat, ragged tie and un-tucked shirt.Walks along the
barely lit river side, siren lights flashing behind him.
Shelby, A young and well kept officer,uniform worn neatly
but soaked in rain. Turns to the side as Detective Ripley
approaches.
OFFICER SHELBY
Detective, glad you decided to join
us.
Detective Ripley gives a nod of acknowledgment as he surveys
the scene.
Shelby glances at him as they both walk to the dead body
perched against a lamp post.
DETECTIVE RIPLEY
Same as the others?
Officer Shelby hands the detective a tape recorder looking
to him wearily.
OFFICER SHELBY
Not exactly.
As the detective inspects the tape, Shelby beside him a
forensic photographer passes his side. Rain drips from the
camera aimed at the body as the button is pressed and the
camera flashes.

3. INT. DETECTIVE OFFICE-NIGHT
A picture sits upon a desk, the body from the crime scene
surrounded by others. A tape recorder on the left and the
wooden box on the right.
We see the detective sat by the desk, he steadily places the
tape as his bony finger moves towards the play button.
Darkness then consumes the screen.
SERIAL KILLER
Hello Detective.
EXT. HOSTAGE SCENE-NIGHT
A victim. A blood stained bag over their head, hands tied
behind their back and feet tied in front, sits in the middle
of the road, shaking. A sign is taped to their chest it
reads 'Your move detective'
SERIAL KILLER
Fear. Fear drives everything,
detective. Your life is governed by
fear. Ever decision you make is a
product of that fear.
Detective Ripley stands, hands curled into a fist as he
stares at the shaking body left on the road.
SERIAL KILLER
You have children because you are
scared of leaving nothing behind that
really matters.
A mysterious figure appears from the side, dressed in dark
colors, A mask is worn with clear stitching that trails
along the mouth, and sunken eyes that appears to be stitched
over. The figure is staring at the detective. The detective
is staring at the body.
SERIAL KILLER
You go to the doctors because you're
scared of dying.

4. INT. INTERROGATION ROOM - DAY
The detective sits in a white room. No windows, A table in
the middle. A suspect sits across from the detective head
down not meeting his eyes.
SERIAL KILLER
You keep telling yourself you're
something more. Something better. But
fear revels the truth.
The detective clenches his fists on the table, the suspect
looks up and smirks at him.
SERIAL KILLER (cont'd)
It erodes your self control.
The detective slams his fists on the table before slamming
his chair, the suspect still smiles at him.
SERIAL KILLER (cont'd)
This is my experiment. Everyone else
are just pieces in my puzzle.
EXT. PARK - NIGHT
A body is propped up against a tree, bag over their heads,
blood soaked clothes, a puzzle box in one hand. The scene
flashes white.
INT. DETECTIVE OFFICE - NIGHT
The same body is placed in a photograph, hung up on a board
with pins and string stabbed through the picture.
EXT. DARK WALL - NIGHT
Another Body is found. Propped up against a wall, Bag over
their head, blood soaked clothes and a puzzle box in their
hand. The scene flashes white.
INT. DETECTIVES OFFICE - NIGHT
Placed on the board is the same picture of the victim.
String and pins holding it to the board.

5. EXT. CASTLE RUINS - NIGHT
A body is propped up against ruins. Bag over their head,
blood soaked clothes and a puzzle box in one hand. The scene
flashes white.
EXT. DETECTIVES OFFICE - NIGHT
The picture of the victim is held up on the board by pins
and strings. We see the board covered in images of different
victims. Strings and notes all held up by pins.
OFFICER SHELBY
Do we have any idea on who this
killer is?
A sketched image is pinned to the board. The sketch shows a
mask with sunken eyes and a stitched up mouth. A noose is
worn around their neck. A dark cloak covering their body.
EXT. STREET - NIGHT
A mysterious figure walks down a path. A black cloak is worn
hiding their figure. A knife is in their hand as they twirl
it, threateningly.
INT. DETECTIVES OFFICE - NIGHT
The detective is sat at his desk. Papers still scattered
everywhere. His badge shines as it sits in front of him. The
badge has been coated in blood. The detective picks it up
and rubs his thumb over it.
He frowns at the badge and lets it drop to the floor. The
scene flashes black.
SERIAL KILLER
You are a product of everything you
fear.
EXT. STREET - NIGHT
Rain pours down, splashing against the uneven pavement. The
detective sits in the middle of the street. Tie, shirt and
trench coats soaked. His hands shake as he brings them up to
his face. They're soaked in blood.

6. SERIAL KILLER
Violence.
INT. BATHROOM
The detective splashes his face with water.He is stood up
against a small sink a mirror in front of him. He looks
into the mirror and sees himself cutting his throat.
SERIAL KILLER
Darkness.
EXT. PARK - NIGHT
A body is laid on the floor, bag over their heads, blood
soaked clothes and another puzzle in their hand. The
detective walks over, bends down and picks the puzzle up. He
then looks at the body, he runs his hands through his hair
in defeat.
SERIAL KILLER
Hopelessness.
EXT. MINSTER - NIGHT
Rain pours as the minster stands in the back. A cloaked
figure walks, standing just in front of the Minster. All
that can be seen are their shoes as the walk along the rain
stained path.
SERIAL KILLER
Someday detective, you will be forced
to embrace fear for the quite and
meaningless truth that it is.
Another set of feet walk towards the path, trench coat being
kicked back by their feet. They stop. A badge can be seen on
the figure, a hat on their head and shirt and tie worn
loosely. The detective looks up, face no longer hidden in
darkness. He stares at the figure across from him.
SERIAL KILLER (cont'd)
Consider this a prophecy.
The mysterious figure can be seen wearing a noose around
their neck. A mask with dark holes instead of eyes and a
stitched up mouth, with a hood over their head. They tilt
their head at the detective.
