What have I been working on?
I have been working on my contextual and theory research, so far I have completed my contextual part of the work looking at three film directors that fit the
type of style project I would like to make for my FMP. I have looked at directors such as James Wan who specialises in the horror genre, I covered his filming
techniques, quotes, biography and film analysis. I have done the same for Christopher Nolan looking at his works such as Inception, The Dark Knight and the
prestige and finding in depths analysis's for those films. My final director I looked at is Martin Scorsese, I covered his background and analysed his films such
as, Shutter Island, Wolf on Wall Street and Gangs of New York. Covering these directors and learning about there takes in the film industry and how they
make there movies will help me when it comes to my project as I can apply all that I have researched into my work.
How do I feel this work has gone?
I think this work has gone well, I'm learning a lot about film and different techniques I can apply to my own projects that I have learnt from these directors. For
example Scorsese likes character driven narratives and characters that are humanly flawed as they feel more realistic to the audience and easier to relate to,
learning this has given me ideas for my own project and characters I plan to introduce into my work.
What were the main successes of my work?
I think my main success was getting key points across in my research, I tried to include every important point I had found through my research of the
directors so that when I come back to it when I start to plan my own project I can clearly see what the director would do and how they would go about
making it.
What did I have difficulty with?
I think the points in my research where I was less successful was when I was analysing some of my chosen directors films. Because I couldn't go really in depth
with my analysis I struggled to write only what I thought were the key things to know about the film, which I found difficult to do as I wanted a more in depth
explanation behind each point.
What could I do to improve my work?
I feel like I could of included a different director maybe of the complete opposite genre of film I was looking at, maybe a director such as Greta Gerwig who
does more drama based films would of been interesting to do. Looking at films such as Little Woman and Lady Bird and comparing the differences between
them and films like The Prestige and Wolf on Wall street. All very different films and genre but I think it would of been interesting to see the differences
between them and the similarities.
What is the next step for my project?
My next step for this project is too move onto my theory research, and linking my theory to what I have learned about the directors and to see if they have
applied the theory in their own movies. I mainly plan to look at genre theory such as horror, mystery and thriller as that is what fits my project.

Today I worked on my theory research and contextual statement. With my theory I focused on genre, I looked at Mystery, Thriller and Slasher genres and in
each I covered the codes and conventions used, the sub genres found within the main genre, the history of the genre so how it originated and common
themes within genre as well. Covering these subjects for my genre theory has given me a better understanding of the genre of film I would like to produce,
and what I need to achieve in order for the genre to work. In my contextual Statement I went through why I had chosen to research my chosen directors
and what effect they have on my project, as well as looking at different options I could do in case lockdown happens. I also mentioned how my theory
would ultimately help me for when I produce and write up my project.
I think my research has gone well, I tried to cover all points of genre theory as best that I could and I do think it will have an impact on when I make my
own project as I know what genre I plan to make my Narrative in, Mystery/thriller, and now I have covered those genres I know exactly what to do in order
for my project to fit the genre.
I think my main success of this work was covering different aspects of my genre theory and putting down the main points I had found into my research. I
also think my contextual statement went okay as well, as I covered my inspirations and motive as to why I have researched what I have and how it will
effect my project.
I didn't really have any problems with this part of the research, I thought it went pretty well. I tried to cover all that I could in detail and put a reasoning
behind it and it has definitely helped me consider my own project and I'm now confident that I can achieve what I plan to make.
To improve my work I think I could of looked at other theories such as narrative theory instead of just genre but I was concerned I wouldn't have time to
cover all that, if I have extra time I will go back and add more theory to my research.
My next plan is to write up my proposal for my FMP, which covers exactly what I plan to make and why. I also plan to move onto my existing products
research, looking at films, posters and trailers and analysing them that are similar to my project.

I have been working on my proposal for my FMP project, I explained the concept of my project such as the story and the area it will be in which is film. I
went through different projects I made throughout my years at college and explained how that will help when it comes to making my project, and how I
can apply what I have learnt to it. I then created a bibliography of all the different sources I can use when it comes to research or just to help me with ideas
for my project, I referenced trailers, books and documentaries that will help me when it comes to making my project and so I can analyse them as well. I
also created a schedule of when I will be in pre production, production and evaluating and what the specific tasks I will be doing each week.
I think my work has gone well, I have presented my concept for what I would like to make and what will help me produce it. I have also managed to plan
my weeks out from pre production to production to evaluation.
I think my main success of my work is where I planned out my schedule and included specific tasks I need to get through. If I stick to that schedule then I
should get my project done in time and hopefully with time to spare. I also think my bibliography went well, I included all the the products and websites I
think will help me when it comes to making my FMP.
I had difficulty with sticking with the word count in some of the boxes, I know in some I went a bit over when it says 150 words I did 200 I tried to re word
it but I felt like I needed to include most of the points I made.
To improve I think I should of added some more references in my bibliography to look at so I can have some more ideas as to how I will go about making
my project. I also think I could of gone back and make sure my explanations fit the word count as well.
My next step for my project is doing my research, I need to look at existing products such as trailers and posters which in some I have referenced in my
proposal bibliography. I then need to create some surveys and conduct interviews, then share and collect their responses to see what my audiences
preferences are.

Today I have been working on my existing product research, so far I have researched and analysed the Saw trailer and I am currently in the middle of
doing the same for the Shutter Island trailer. In my research for the trailers I have covered why I want to look at that specific trailer and how it will help me
with my own project, I have also analysed the mis en scene in the trailer, the appeal it has on the audience, the lighting used, sound effects and the
soundtrack. After covering all of those aspects I summarised it all down and did a more in depth explanation as to how this will help me with my project. I
plan to do the same thing with the Shutter Island trailer which I am currently researching now.
I feel like this work has gone well so far, I am trying to go quite deep in my analysis so I can find key points which will be able to help me with my own
project and I'm trying to find products which are quite similar to what I plan to make so I can apply what I have learnt to my own work.
I think my main success in my research so far is finding out key features that makes the trailer what its is such as how it conveys all those horror elements
as well as the narrative and putting an explanation behind it. Knowing how they produce it and the overall effect it has on the audience really helps me
understand what I need to do in my project to get that same reaction from the audience.
I think so far I am struggling with the time and how much I am producing, I'm worried I'm spending too much time on one product that I wont I have time
to research the other products at the same standard. I think I need to be careful with how much time I am spending on one analysis and I need to spread
it out to make sure I get it all done at a high standard.
I think to improve my work I could of also looked at the poster for my chosen trailer as well but I didn't want to spend too much time on the same film,
when I have finished all my research I will come back and add more to it especially if it impacts my own project.
My next step is to finish off my Shutter Island trailer research and move onto some poster research as well as conducting some surveys which I can send
out and collect feedback on ready for next week.

I have been working on my research and survey questions for my FMP, for my research I have analysed the Shutter Island trailer and I am currently in the
middle of analysing the 'Get Out' poster. For my survey I have asked questions to do with thriller movie such as, what they're favourite thriller is, what
character traits do they like to see in a protagonist and who their favourite villain is. I have sent this survey out on social media so I can gather responses
in time for next week.
I think this work has gone well, I'm glad I took time out of my research to get the survey questions done so I can collect enough responses in time. I also
feel that todays research has gone better than yesterdays as I feel I got a bit more done.
I think the main success of my work was asking questions in my survey that were relevant to my project, I did have to go back and change a few questions
so the answers from my audience would be doable for me to achieve when I make my project.
I've had difficulty with some of my research, I'm trying to write main points down but I feel like I ramble on a bit when I'm explaining something so next
time I come back to my research I need to make sure that what I say is relevant to what I am talking about.
I think to improve my work in the research area I need to mix up what I am looking at, so far I have researched two trailers and a poster I think maybe for
my final product research I could look at a opening film scene and analyse that because I think that will help me for when I open up my trailer because I
was thinking of doing an opening scene for it.
The next step in my project is to finish off my product research and move onto my primary and analyse the responses I have got from my survey as well as
conducting interviews with some people to find out their preferences as well.

Today I have finished off my existing product research. All together now I have researched the Saw trailer, Shutter Island trailer, Get Out poster and The
silence of the Lambs poster as well. After I had finished my product research I did an analysis of it all, looking at the similarities between products and
summarising what aspects of my research I plan to include in my own work. After I did this I did some audience research looking at the Psychographic for
audiences who are fans of the thriller genre, I did this to get a better understanding of the audience I am appealing to and their preferences.
I feel like this work has gone well, I have finished my product research in time with the schedule I have set myself so next time I can movie on to my survey
research. I also felt like my genre audience research went well as well, I got to have a better understanding of my target audience and what demographic
they fit into.
I think my main success of my work was analysing my product research as I have mentioned what aspects of the research I plan to use in my own project
and why I had chosen to look at that specific product. I also think my product research overall went well as I now have a better understanding of the
product I plan to produce.
I had some difficulty with my audience research because originally I was researching the sub genre of psychological thriller and the audience psychographic
and demographic behind that and I struggled to find charts and graphs for the audience behind that specific sub-genre. Instead I had to just research the
thriller genre as a whole and include any research I could find about the audience behind the sub genre.
To improve my work I could of done audience research for films so I could look at existing movies and research the demographic audience behind those
films so who they appeal to and their target audience. I have mentioned audiences in my existing product research but I haven't gone into it in full detail.
Next time I plan to analyse my survey results and see what the responses that I have received are and how these responses will effect my project and how I
will change it to appeal to my audience more if needed.

Today I have been working on analysing all my survey responses as well as conducting some interviews. From my survey I have collected 27 responses and
I have found common features in some of the answers I have received that can influence my own project. When I did the interviews I messaged some of
my friends and asked them questions such as what appeals to them most in thriller movies, what aspects in a thriller trailer makes them want to see the
movie and what tropes they find to be annoying in some thrillers.
I feel like this work has gone well, I have received quite a lot of responses from my survey that I was able to analyse and find some common features the
answers all had. I also had time to do a few interviews as well which will help me more with my audience research.
I think the main success of my work was analysing my responses I have received from my survey, I observed what the responses were for each question
and I explained why I asked the question and how the audiences responses will effect my project.
I think on one of the questions I asked my audience some didn't really understand what I was asking them so I asked what character traits do they look
for in a protagonist and some of the replies I got made me think they thought I meant the antagonist. For example some people put they have to be
"Smart and sadistic" "creepy, cunning, scary and deceitful" and "disturbed" which are mainly traits you find in the villain of the story not the hero, so I
think I could of worded that better.
To improve my work I feel like I could of asked more questions in my survey like what I have asked in my interview, for example what tropes annoy the
audience them most in a thriller. I feel like asking this question I could avoid any peeves my audience have that could potentially put them off the film.
Next for my research I need to complete writing up my interviews, I then need to research some film theory that can help with my project as well as
looking at production research whether it be refreshing myself on how to use a camera or looking at production costs for props.

Today I have been working on finishing up my interviews and writing them up, then I did some subject research looking into camera angles and different
film terminologies and their definitions. I think doing this will help me when it comes to making my film I can use different camera angles to convey
different meanings to my audience.
I think this work has gone well, overall I think all the research I have conducted will help me a lot when it comes to making my film. Especially looking into
the thriller genre and that audience for it has given me a better understanding of the kind of products I need to produce in order to appeal to them.
I think the main success of my work was looking up different camera angles and how using them can convey different meanings for example using a low
angle shot makes the character appear dominant in the scene which shows they have control of whatever situation they are in.
I think where I was less successful was with the interviews, I think I should of asked different questions because i got relatively the same answers from my
audience. However, I asked the same questions because I wanted to see different opinions on the subject but that didn't really work.
To improve my work I feel like I could of done more for my subject research, so I will probably come back to that when I need to add more research to my
work.
The next step for my project will be to do some pre production work, experimenting with different things that will help towards my project and start
writing up scripts and storyboards for my project as well.

26/01/21
Today I have been working on my problem solving for my FMP, so far I have done an in depth mind map of the practical and technical problems and I am
in the middle of my theoretical problems mind map. I have covered, equipment, research, props, storage, power, ability, backing up, and software
problems for my technical mind map and for my theoretical I have done, filming outside, unwanted noise, actors and crew, crew dynamic and location &
transport problems. I will go more in depth with some of these such as the equipment and crew but the min map was a summary of the problems I could
face.
I feel like this work has gone okay, I feel like I need to do a lot more work on my problem solving because I got stuck on some, but I think so far my mind
mapping has gone well and I added some more work to my research overall I think doing this will really help me when it comes to production of my
trailer.
I think my main success of this work was covering most of the topics and providing solutions to the problems all though not as detailed as I would like I
do plan to look more in depth at these problems and show images of how I plan to solve them.
The thing I was less successful in I think was giving a more in depth explanation behind the problem and how it will be solved which is why next time I
work on this I will have a slide or two dedicated to a specific problem the mind map was just a summary of issues.
To improve my work I feel like I need to watch how much time I am spending on a problem because it feels like I am taking a while just to write one
problem down so I need to work on the time I spend on one thing so I can move on to more important things in my problem solving.
My next step in my problem solving is to complete the rest of my mind map and then look more in depth at my problems and hopefully get some
experiments done as well to back up my problem solving.

Today I have been continuing my problem solving for my production, I have finished mind mapping my theoretical problems and then moved onto
covering a more in depth explanation as to what a certain problem was and how I would be able to solve it. For example on one slide I did about camera
problems and how I would solve them as well as looking at what problems I would face with lockdown and my solution to that as well, I did the same for
equipment, props & costumes and software.
I think this work has gone well, I have gone more in depth with the problems and explained more about how I was going to solve them. I also included
images as well which helps explain what I was talking about and showed what I am planning on using during my production.
The main success of my work I think was going into better detail about what type of problems I could potentially face during production, then covering
the problems with solutions so I won't have to deal with those issues. I think think this will help me a lot when it comes to production because I am
covering hopefully mostly everything that could go wrong and providing solutions for it.
I did have difficulty with one of the software problems when I was talking about Adobe audition I had only used that once before and I hadn't come
across many issues with it, not a s much as premiere or photoshop, so I found it difficult to come up with some problems in the end I just had to search
up some issues other people had with it and put that as a potential issue I could have.
To improve my work I feel like I could include some contingency plans tables, I think this could help me come up with more contingencies and solutions
to my problems when I do production.
The next step in my project is to continue doing some more in depth problem solving that can help me in production and to finish off my problem
solving so that next week I can move onto doing some experiments such as audio, film and editing.

29/01/21
Today I have been finishing off my problem solving theory work, I have covered software problems and filming outside issues as well as health and
safety and I completed a contingency plan table. I think this will help me a lot when it comes to production as I now have back up plans for anything
that could go wrong.
I think this work has gone well, I have gone over some problems more than once and provided different solutions for them which, when it comes to
production, will help me a lot as I am now more prepared for any issues I may face.
I think the main success of my work was when I kept looking at problems for each subject such as equipment problems, camera problems, cast and
crew issues etc... and kept coming up with different potential issues I may face with them which has allowed me to become more prepared for when I
start filming.
I had difficulty with in some areas coming up with potential problems so I did have to search some up that I could add and come up with my own
solution for it, but in the end it just made me more aware of what problems I could face.
To improve my work I feel like I could of done a bit more in depth problem solving for some aspect of my production, if I have extra time after I do my
experiments I will come back to it and add more.
The next step for my project is to do some experiments with the sources I have that will help me with my FMP and to explain why I am doing the
experiments and how it will help me.

Today I have been working on my experiments for my FMP, so far I have done an audio experiment using a new software that allows me to change the
pitch of my voice so it sounds deeper and unrecognisable to the audience which is an audio effect I plan to use in my trailer, I have also started my
poster experiment where I use another new software that allows me to edit and make posters and I will be using this to see if the software works so I
can use it in my production.
I feel like this work has gone well, my audio I did I think was the best part of it because I think it worked well, the software I used to make it and the
overall result I got. Before I experimented I researched tutorials on each of the experiments I planned to do which has so far helped me a lot because
it's new software I'm using and watching the tutorials helps me get a better understanding of what I am doing and how to do it.
I think the main success of my work was doing the audio experiment, this was the main one I was worried about the most because my whole plan for
my trailer was to have the antagonists voice narrate it and if it didn't work then I would have to re plan the structure of my trailer. Luckily this did go
well, the software was easy to use and it was easy to record my voice on and I was happy with the end result of the audio, so I think that was the most
successful part of my work today.
The main thing I had difficulty with doing was trying to find the right software to use for each experiment for example with the audio experiment, in
the tutorial I watched the man was using an app called Audacity which I tried to find on my computer but instead it came up with Audiotonic which at
first I thought was a different app but when I used I found it was the same just an updated version of the one the man was using, so I got a bit
confused with that.
To improve my work I think I could of done more than one of the same experiment, for example with the audio experiment I could of done two
versions of it using different voices to see the difference it makes, I was just weary of the time I had and I wanted to get the other experiments done as
well but if I have time after finishing the others I might go back and do more.
The next step in my project is to finish off my poster experiment and move onto doing my stop motion and camera angles experiments and to see
what experiments have worked and which ones haven't and how it will overall effect my project.

04/02/21
Today I have been working on my practical experiments for my project, I looked at different editing software's and created an experiment poster, I also
did a stop motion experiment which allowed me to experiment with my phone and using it to film. Then my final experiment I did today was Camera
angles, I took pictures from different angles using my phone and I wrote all my experiments up and explained what went well and what didn't.
I think this work has gone well, I have got all the experiments I wanted to do done and I have learnt a lot from the experiments I have conducted such
as what will work, what software's I can use, different ways to film with my phone and I looked at how all of this will effect my project and how I will
benefit from doing these experiments.
The main success of my work was doing my experiments that required me to use my phone and look at problems that I might have during production.
Experiments such as the camera angles and the stop motion I felt I had learnt a lot from as I have realised what to do and what not to do while filming
and how I can use different camera angles to convey different emotions.
I was less Successful in my stop motion experiment because I feel like all the other experiments I did worked pretty well but I don't think the final
outcome of my stop motion worked out very well. I do think I have learnt from this however, because I now know that doing a stop motion isn't the
best idea to put into my trailer and I have also worked with filming from my phone as well which I think will help a lot when I do production so the
experiment wasn't a complete fail.
To improve my work I plan to add some more experiments such as looking at potential set designs I could film my trailer in and also doing a bit more
theoretical problem solving such as looking at the cast and crew and their roles and how lockdown could have an effect on that.
My next step is to finish off my experiments and problem solving research by summarising what I have learnt throughout it and how all of this will have
an overall effect on my project.

05/02/21
Today I finished off my problem solving research, I have finished all my experiments and added an overall summary of if it was useful and how it will
effect my project. I also went back and added a bit more theoretical work and I covered the problems I might have with my cast and crew in more
detail, because I think that will be the most important problem especially if lockdown happens.
I think this work has gone well, I added an extra slide in my experiment section about set designs that has helped me plan my production and the
places I plan to film and has given me a better idea about how I want to set up the props and sets.
I think overall the main success of my work was the experiments I have conducted, these experiments have really helped me get a better
understanding of how my production might go and what I need to do to make sure that everything goes smoothly. It has also made me a lot
confident knowing what I should and shouldn't do in production.
One of the experiments I had difficulty with was the set design, because I only planned to use two sets in my house there wasn't a lot to write about
because the rest of my trailer is going to be filmed outside. So instead I just talked about how I planned to set the scene up in my trailer and what it
will show to the audience.
To improve my work I think I could of done some extra experiments, maybe experimenting with props such as fake blood and how it will look in my
trailer as well as how I will make sure it doesn't stain anything and look real etc...
My next step in this project is to go back through my previous work and from the feedback I have gotten try and improve it the best I can and
hopefully after I will start my pre production planning such as script writing and story boards.

09/02/21
Today I have gone back on some of my work and made some improvements based of the feedback I had received from my Tutor. I went and improved
some of my theory essay, adding some media theory in which will hopefully secure my pass grade. I have also been working on my research power
point for my FMP and I started to space out some of my work because when I upload it on SlideShare the writing clumps together and it can be
difficult to read.
I think that this work has gone well, I haven't uploaded the power point to SlideShare yet to see if the writing fits but I do think I have spaced it all out
enough so it's much easier to read. I also did separate slides to show my audience research because it was difficult to see my screenshots as well.
I think my main success of my work today was organising my Power Points because I think it looks a lot more organised than it did before, on my
previous power point I had too much writing on one slide so I'm glad I have spaced it all out a bit.
I don't really think I had any less successful elements in todays work because it was more of going back and improving in my less successful things in
my work and I think it has gone well.
I think I could of done a bit more improvements on my work but I will continue on my improvements tomorrow because I went back and improved my
theory work I didn't have as much time on my FMP work that I would of liked so I will make up for that by doing some more tomorrow.
My next plan for my project is to continue with my improvements and look at the feedback I have received and add any more things to my work that
could help my grade go up and overall improve it.

11/02/21
Today I have been working on my improvements, I have gone back and done some more work on my contextual and theory research, mainly adding
more theory and spacing my work out. I then did some more research for my actual project for how to make a compelling antagonist and I will
continue this tomorrow but I will do how to make a compelling protagonist.
I think this work has gone well, I'm going off the feedback I have got from my tutor and adding more things to my work that will help me when it
comes to making my project.
I think my main success of my work was looking at how to make an antagonist compelling to the audience, because I have learnt a lot through this
research and it has given me ideas of how I can make my own antagonist compelling. I have looked at the Joker off the Dark Knight and researched
what made him a great antagonist and I then did some further research into antagonists as a whole.
I didn't really have any difficulty with this work because my tutor has told me what to improve on and I have been expanding and going off that in
order to make my work better as a whole.
To improve my work I think I need to do more research, tomorrow I plan to look at what makes a protagonist compelling to the audience and then to
improve I think I need to expand on that more and look more at character development.
My next step is too finish off my improvements to a good standard and do more research and then after I was hoping to start writing up my script.

23/02/21
Today I have been working on my pre production and planning, mainly focusing on the script and locations. For the locations I have done a back up
location where if lockdown is put in place again I can use those areas. My main plan as to where to film is in York, because I want my trailer to look
right I think that is the best place to film and it will really help the whole setting and feel to my trailer. I also know a few people there that can help on
acting so I wouldn't have to act in it and I can stay behind the camera, either way the shot list and everything will stay the same despite the location
change because I have come up with two plans of locations that cater towards the same script and shot list.
I feel like this work has gone okay, I did struggle a lot with writing the script, I still haven't finished that because I was trying to plan out in my head
how each scene could work and the transitions I could do as well as how I can make the dialogue express the personalities of the characters. I found
this took quite a bit of time but once I have finished my first draft I will be able to go back and edit it so it's the way I want it to be.
The main success of my work I think was writing my script and the description I put in it. Because when I send the script out to my cast and crew I want
them to get a clear vision of how the scene will look and the feel to it so I tried my best to describe that in my script and I feel like, especially the
opening scene, has achieved this.
I had difficulty writing the dialogue for my characters because my main protagonist I want them to be intelligent and that needs to come across in the
way they act and what they say, and it's the script that tells this. I did really struggle with writing my protagonist and the order in which I want the
scenes to be set in so that took up quite a lot of my time I didn't get to finish my locations or the rest of my script.
To improve my work I need to be better at my script writing because I spent way too much time on it and I haven't even finished it so tomorrow I plan
to spend extra time on that to make sure it's done and I'm happy with it so I can move onto my other planning.
My next step for my project is to finish my Script and the locations I plan to film in so I can move onto planning my storyboards, shot lists and getting
my cast and crew together.

25/02/21
Today I have been working on my Planning and pre production, I have filled out some location recce forms as well as working out the costs for my
props and equipment and seeing what items I will need for my production. I was able to buy some of the props and equipment I had listed but most of
it I either owned or I am going to borrow from someone.
I think this work has gone well, I have managed to buy most of the items I need for my production as well as working out the total cost of it all. I have
also found some filming locations as well as back up locations I will be able to use during my production as well. So overall I think this work has been
successful so far.
I think my main success of my work was working out what equipment and props I needed and was able to buy most of it and work out the total price. I
have bought most of the items now to guarantee that they will come in time for when I start production, most of the props I bought I bought on
amazon prime so it's a 1 day delivery and if it doesn't come I can get a refund for it and buy a similar product but either way it should arrive by the
time I start filming.
I didn't really have any difficulty with the work I have done today, because I new where I wanted to film my different scenes so that was pretty easy to
fill out the location forms, and because I knew what props and equipment I needed and already owned it was easy to find them as well. However, I did
find that the total cost was a little over what I expected to pay coming to £114 I expected it a bit less but I will probably use these props again in future
projects so I don't have a problem paying for it.
To improve my work I need to work on my final script, I'm not too happy with the first draft because I feel like it needs to be improved. I did plan to do
this today but I decided to get the main planning done either today or tomorrow so next week I can work on my script, shot lists and storyboards.
My next step for my project is to cover my time schedule of when I'm doing my production as well as my personnel that will be working on my trailer.

Today I have finished off most of my planning, I have wrote up a time schedule of when I plan on filming, I have also wrote up my personnel and
explain who is assigned to what role as well as there experience and skills that will have with my project. I have also screen shot my meetings and
logged them in my power point where I explain to my cast and crew the plan we have for filming, and I have also included what software I will be using
and I have made some concept art as well.
I feel like this work has gone well, I feel like I've covered a lot of work today and now I'm getting more of a clear plan about when I'm going to film and
the cast and crew involved I'm feeling a lot more confident about going out and filming now because I feel more prepared for it
The main success of my work I think was making my time schedule as well as making my concept art. My time schedule has helped me space out my
production so I know what week I'm doing what and I have planned it so I should have enough time at the end to make sure everything is at its best
quality. I also feel like the concept art went well because it has given me a better visual of how I want my trailer and characters to look.
I haven't really struggled with anything during this work, however, I did get a bit confused when I was making my schedule I had wrote down the
wrong dates because I wasn't sure when the Easter Holidays were. But I managed to fix the dates so everything was scheduled correctly.
To improve my work I still need more time to finish my script off so I can move onto creating my story boards and shot lists, I did plan to do the rest of
my script today but I didn't have time so instead I plan to do it tomorrow so when my final week of planning starts I can do my storyboards and shot
lists.
My next step for my planning is to finish off my script and then I can start making my storyboards and shot lists as well as experimenting with colours
and designs for my trailer and poster.

Today I have been working on my storyboard, shot list, concept art, materials I will be using such as props and costumes, sounds such as Foley and the
different camera angles I will be using as well as the setting and lighting. With my concept art I drew a sketch of what I wanted my victims to look like
as well as a sketch of my puzzle box and what I hope my villain will look like. For my storyboard I roughly drew each scene from my script and included
the different camera angles.
I feel like this work has gone well, I feel like I have covered quite a lot of my planning today and I feel more confident about production the more I do.
It has given me a better idea of how I would like my trailer to look such as gathering my props, making concept art and writing shot lists.
The main success of my work I think was the shot list and concept art. The shot list has helped by making me more organised and given me a better
idea of how I am going to go about making my trailer and how it will look. I think not having a shot list would of left me completely lost when it comes
to production because I wouldn't of had a plan about what angles I need to shoot at. The concept art has also helped because it's given me a better
visual of the tone and look of the trailer which hopefully I can apply it when it comes to production.
I had a bit of difficulty with the material section because I covered most of it in my finance section of my power point so I was a bit stuck with what to
write. Instead I just made a full list of all the props and costumes that will feature in my trailer and explained the importance of them.
To improve my work I think I could of done some more concept art, if I have time after I finish production I will probably do a sketch of what my
detective will look like because this gives me a better visual of how my characters will look.
My next plan is to hopefully finish off my planning, I need to cover design for my trailer and poster such as fonts and the different colours I will use as
well as management.

Today I have been working on finishing my planning for my project. I have covered materials, camera movements and angles, sounds I will be using,
Colour schemes, Style sheet, fonts and management. Doing all this has made me better prepared for production and has given me a better visual of
how my trailer and poster will look.
I feel like this work has gone well, looking at colour schemes and fonts has helped a lot with how I want my trailer and poster to look. I gathered a
range of different fonts and analysed them to see which one would work the best and which ones wouldn't. I did find my favourite font which I think
would work really well with the tone and style of my trailer and poster.
My main success of my work I think was doing the style sheet. This has helped me plan out how my trailer will look, such as the colours, fonts and the
mise en scene I will be including in it. It has made me get a better image in my head of how I want this project to look and what I need to do to be able
to pull of the look and tone I have planned in my my style sheet.
Overall, I think this work has gone well I did have a bit of a struggle trying to find suitable colours that will go well in my trailer and gives off the right
tone. Eventually I got a better visual of how my trailer will look and the right colour schemes to use that will give off the right thriller vibe.
To improve my work I think I could of gone more in depth with my character breakdowns and I could of included some images but I might do that
tomorrow once I have finished off everything else in my planning I will add some character designs.
My next plan for my project is too finish off my planning so next week I can start on production which will be recording audio and editing the pitch of
it to create my villains voice.

Today I have been working on putting all my daily reflections in a power point, I have finished my planning and everything so I spent today gathering
all my responses and logging them as well as doing some improvements to my other work.
I think this work has gone well, Logging all my reflections in a Power point helps me organise it all better as well as keeping to the same structure.
The main success of my work was gathering my reflections from the first day I started my project, because I emailed I kept emailing it to myself they
have all saved to my email.
I didn't really have any difficulty with this work because I was just logging in reflections I have already done.
If I have time I will add pictures to my reflections to show the work that I have done but because most of it was from a few months ago a lot of my
pictures have been lost so I need to take some new ones.
My next plan for my project is too start on my production, the first week I will be collecting the audio so in my second week I can edit it all when I'm in
college.

Today I have been adding some extra work to my research, I have also started a bit of production designing some of my props. Because I start filming
in the Easter holidays there's not an awful lot I can do at the moment with production which is why I'm adding more research to my research Power
Point.
I feel like this work has gone well, I needed to do some research on some DVD covers because I plan to make one along with my poster so I need to
know all the aspect i should include in a cover. My prop designing has also gone well, I have been designing an investigation board but I have to wait
to get the images of the victims so right now I am sticking drawings and writing to my board.
The main success of my work I think was doing the DVD cover research because I have examined two covers and have found things on it that I never
realised was on a cover before because I haven't really paid that much attention to them.
I didn't really have difficulty with the work today because I was doing a bit of extra research and making props I Haven't really struggled with it.
To improve my work I think I should so some research on actual CD covers and see how I could design mine, I think this will go along well with my
DVD cover research.
Next I plan to record some of the dialogue I need for my project so next week when I'm in college I can edit it and I will also do some more research
for my project as well.

Today I have been gathering some audio recordings for my trailer. I have mainly recorded the villains dialogue because I am doing the voice of the
villain. Next week when I am in college I plan to edit this audio to make my voice sound deeper and sinister and more clearer. I did record this audio on
my phone because I didn't have access to my college tape recorder. I am trying to do as much as I can to prepare to edit my FMP for after I finish
filming so I'm preparing most of my audio and setting out my poster plans so I'm prepared when I start editing.
I feel like this work has gone well, I have also been adding more things to my investigation board so it looks like the investigation has been going on
for a while. I am also trying to get some news paper but when I film it I don't plan on zooming in on the words of the newspaper so the audience can't
read it I want them to think it's about the murders.
The main success of my work I think was recording my audio, because most of the audio being used in my trailer is from my villain. And because I have
recorded the majority of that audio I only need a couple more lines from my other characters to gather and then I will have all my audio for my trailer
sorted.
Something I found less successful was when I recorded audio to my phone I played it back and it sounded clear but when I transferred it to my
computer it didn't sound as clear as it did so when I edit it on audition I will make it sound clearer.
To improve my work, I still need to look at CD covers and how different films have designed theirs so when I design mine it will hopefully look good.
My next plan is to research some CD covers from films and finish of designing my investigation board

Today I have been doing some extra research for my project, because I can't do much more for my production until I return to college next week I have
gone back to add some extra things to y research. I have been researching some DVD covers such as the Joker and Split. I have found both of the
covers to be very similar looking and it has given me ideas for how I can present my own DVD cover.
I feel like this work has gone well, I have now researched all the products I plan to make for my project including trailers, DVD box covers and DVD
covers. This has made me more prepared for when I make my own as I have gotten a better idea of how I can present all these products to hopefully a
High standard way.
The main success of my work was researching DVD covers for films that were similar to what I plan to make. Both the DVD covers I have researched I
have found to be very similar to each other. They both feature the main characters faces being half on the cover and they both have slogans on them
they were almost identical in style as well.
I Haven't really struggled with anything during this research because I found it very helpful with how to style my own DVD cover and analysing them
both has helped me with this so I haven't really struggled with it.
To improve my work I could do a little bit more research on maybe merchandise because if I had time after I have finished all my products I planned to
make so merchandise designs such as key rings and T-shirts to promote the trailer so I could research some of them.
Next I plan to edit my audio at college and start designing my poster and DVD cover so it is prepared for when I have the actual image I can just place
it in there.

Today I have been working on editing my audio. I have been doing this in adobe audition and I've been working on trying to create my villains voice
for my trailer. I want the voice to sound deep and sinister but I have been struggling with trying to find the right effect for it.
I think this work has gone okay, I did plan to have the audio done by today but it's going to take me a couple more lessons. I didn't think it would of
taken as long as it has but I want to make sure the voice is right and you can understand what is being said.
The main success of my work I think was cleaning up my audio. I had small amount of background noise going on in a few of my clips so I was able to
edit that and make it sound a lot smoother and clearer. I have also found a lot of techniques in audition that I can use for editing by watching lots of
tutorial videos which I have found has helped a lot.
I had difficulty with trying to make my mind up on how I wanted the voice to sound. I wanted the voice to be quite deep but because my voice is quite
high pitched I had to adjust that and I went through at least 5 different effects and pitch changes to make it sound right. In the end I had managed to
create an effect that works well with the audio and makes it clear to understand.
To improve my work I think I should try getting someone with a deeper voice to play the villain just to see if it sounds better than mine with the effects,
but I am quite happy now I was able to disguise my voice.
The next step for my FMP is to finish of my audio and to start producing my poster and DVD covers by getting different backgrounds and fonts so
after I film and Have gathered the image for my cover I can just place it on.

Today I have been working on finishing off editing my audio for my villains voice and I have started to produce my DVD cover. I managed to edit all
my audio for the villain today and that was the main part of audio I needed doing, because the villain kind of narrates the whole trailer the audience
will mainly be listening to his voice so I spent quite a while trying to clean it up and make it sound right which I am happy with the final outcome of it.
I think this work has gone well. I'm glad I managed to finish off the audio today because yesterday it took me a while to only edit two audio clips and I
needed to edit another 10 more today but I did it faster than I expected because it saved what I had done to my previous clips from yesterday and I
just applied the same to the others and it only took me two more lessons to finish it off. I am also glad to have started my DVD cover, I didn't get to do
much of it because I was writing up my production reflection for the audio but I have started it and got some fonts.
I think the main success of my work was editing the audio. At first I wasn't sure if it would turn out the way I wanted it to but after a lot of
experimenting with the pitch and effects I think it turned out quite well. The voice turned out deep and mysterious which is what I wanted and it was
clear to understand. I did record the audio on my phone so I was worried it would be unclear and there would be a lot of white noise but I managed to
clear it all up so it came out clearer.
I had difficulty with my DVD cover. I was trying to split it into sections so I had the front the middle and the back, and for the middle I struggled to get
the lines so it was directly in the middle and I struggled with that. It also took a while to find the font I wanted as well because some didn't look right
but in the end I decided on a font I think will work quite well with the rest of my cover.
To improve my work I think I could have done two sets of voices for my villain. I could have done different effects for one and when I edit my trailer I
could see which works best for it. However, I don't think I had time to do that because I needed to do the rest of the DVD cover but if I didn't think the
voice suited the tone of my trailer then I would have a back up. But I am happy with the voice I have done.
The next step for my project is to design the rest of my DVD cover and the poster and if I have time I will also design the actual DVD for it as well.

Today I have been experimenting with my DVD cover. I have been trying different styles to see which looks the most effective for when I actually
produce it. I have mainly been looking at some noir style posters and I tried it using Leonardo Dicaprio from shutter island because he has a detective
look which is quite similar to how I want my character to look. I placed him at the centre of the cover and I made the background black and white
along with him. Just having him as the cover in black and white style I have found to be very effective.
I feel like this work has gone well. Because I have done my audio I am just waiting to actually produce my trailer so experimenting with different covers
for my DVD cover and poster I have found has helped a lot with how I visually want to present everything.
The main success of my work I think was learning how to create this noir effect for my poster and how I can adjust the lighting and saturation to make
it look more mysterious and effective. I do think when I make my actual poster I will be going for that noir look because it's quite simple but it also
looks very effective and eye catching which is what I want.
I did have difficulty with the font. I was trying to make this noir style font but when I put in 3D i had trouble trying to adjust it so the text looks right. I
also ran out of time or else I would of gone back and re done the text to make it look better so I need to practice using the 3D effect.
To improve my work I think I can get the text and background ready so when I have my actual character I can just place him in it and I would just need
to work on making them nor style.
The next step for my project is to add a bit more to my research and planning and also get ready for filming.

Today I have been getting the props and costumes ready. I have messaged my crew with what clothes they will be needing to wear and I have been
sorting out the main costumes for them today, ready for when we film next week.
I feel like this work has gone well, I feel more prepared for when I film knowing that I have got all the costumes and everything sorted out. I feel like
the detectives costume has come together quite well, I think it will reflect the characters personality as well as clearly show to the audience from the
moment he comes on screen that he is a detective.
The main success of my work was creating the characters looks, which I think will work well with building the genre of my trailer and shows the
characters personality more.
I didn't really have difficulty with anything today because I was just getting the costumes and looks of my characters ready I had already visualised how
I wanted them to look so I didn't really struggle with putting the costumes together.
To improve my work I could of maybe put together some different outfits so the characters aren't wearing the same clothes in every scene. Instead I
did plan to keep the same clothes for my main character but in some scenes he will loose his trench coat and he will look more unkept. It would go
over my budget and take up too much time if I get the characters to change clothes for every scene which is why they will be wearing relatively the
same clothes.
My next step for my production is to add more research to my power point because I'm ready for filming next week there's not much more I can do, so
I will do more research on filming so I 'm better prepared for when I film.

Today I have been practicing filming with the camera and audio equipment to make sure I know what I am doing when I film my trailer next week. I
have also been practicing setting up the tripod and using different camera angles as well.
I feel like this work has gone well, I feel more confident now that I have gone over how to use all the equipment so when I film my trailer I'm more
confident with using the equipment.
The main success of my work was working the camera and experimenting with the aperture and different camera angles. This has given me a better
idea of how I will shoot my trailer and different angles I could use.
I had a bit of difficulty trying to set up the tripod, I found that it was really stiff and it took some time trying to get the legs out but eventually I got it
set up it just took a while to do.
To improve my work I could of practiced editing the footage and experiment with different colour gradings but I didn't have the editing software I
needed but practicing with camera has helped a lot for when I film my actual project.
My next step for my project is to do a bit more research so I am ready to film my project next week.

I feel like this work has gone okay, I have been mainly finishing off the props I have been making so they are ready for filming and it has been going
well so far.
The main success of my work has been finishing off my investigation board, because this will be one of the main props in the trailer I have almost
finished it. I only need to take some picture of the victims in my trailer and stick them on my board and the I should be done.
I didn't really have difficulty with anything because I was just finishing off my props I didn't really struggle with it.
To improve my work I think I could do a bit more research on editing and how to edit a trailer properly so it looks professional and high quality, I think
this will help me when it comes to editing my project.
The next step for my project is to start filming next week and hopefully start editing it together next week as well so when I come back to college I will
only have to focus on making the poster and DVD cover.

Today I have been editing together my footage I had gathered in the Easter holidays. My main focus has been trying to get all the footage and audio I
need in my timeline before I start with effects and colour grading I need to do to for it. Putting all my footage together first will help me see what the
length of my trailer will be as well as what parts of the footage works and what doesn’t.
I feel like this work has gone well, I am happy with the quality of the footage I have captured. I did think it would be grainy but its come out in quite
good quality which I am happy about. There is some scenes where the camera is a bit shaky but I have cut those parts out in my trailer and only
included parts where it was a steady cam.
The main success of my work I think is matching the audio to the footage, I want the music and style of my trailer to all fit together and be on beat
with each other, which so far I think it has. The music does get a bit intense past the minute mark so I will have to match the music with footage that
will match that.
I was struggling to place scenes in the right order, or which I think would match together with the tone of the music and the telling of my trailer. I want
people to know what it's about and throwing random clips in won't really help that so I am trying to do it in an order but it's hard to find the right
footage.
To improve my work I need to colour grade my footage because so far it's way too bright to match the tone and theme of my trailer, I plan on colour
grading after I have put my trailer together with all the clips.
The next step for my project is to continue editing my footage. Hopefully by the end of the week I should have my trailer done so I can then focus on
making my poster and DVD cover.

Today I have been doing more of my editing, I'm still putting together my footage in the timeline but along the way I'm using different transitions and
experimenting with the colour grading. I have also been adding more to my production reflection as well as I go so as I go I can explain what I'm doing
in that.
I feel like this work has gone well, I think the audio works well with the footage I have include and experimenting with the colour grading has helped
me give the footage a darker and sharper look to it. I think I should be done with editing by the end of the week so I can move onto my poster and
DVD cover.
The main success of my work I think was the colour grading. Because I filmed the opening scene during the day the footage was quite bright and it
didn't match the tone or feel of my trailer, so experimenting with the colour grading has allowed me to make the footage look darker and I can
sharpen it as well which help bring out the main features in the scene.
I have had difficulty with putting the the scenes together on my timeline. Because I want the footage to match the time and pace of the music I've
found it hard to match the scene up with it. At some points the music goes really intense and I couldn't find a scene to match it so instead I cut the
music and found a section of it that's a lot tamer and used that instead.
To improve my work I need to start putting al my footage on the timeline so I can see how long the trailer will run for and so after I can spend the rest
of my time editing it.
The next step for my project is to finish off my editing and then move onto making my poster and DVD cover.

Today I have been working on my DVD cover, I have designed the front of the cover and the middle strip and I'm currently working on the back of the
cover. The front cover of my DVD cover I plan for it to be the poster as well, originally I was going to make a new poster but I liked how the front of my
DVD cover has turned out so I was thinking of using that.
I feel like this work has gone well, I'm happy with how the front of the cover has turned out because I wasn't to sure about the design of it but once I
put a background in and experimented with the lighting and shades that worked well with the image it all came together so I'm happy with it.
The main success of my work I think was the front cover of my DVD, originally I had a foggy background on my front cover but I thought it looked a bit
plain so I added this street background that had dim lighting and I found that it worked well with the character that was the main feature of the cover.
I also played around with the lighting to make the character blend in more and for it to be more eye catching and i think it's worked well.
I had difficulty with the back of my front cover and adding the credits, I spent a while trying to find the right font for the credits and when I wrote them
up I was trying to get them to look like they would on a normal DVD. Doing this took me a while but I got it done in the end I just found it a bit
difficult to do.
To improve my work, on the strip of the DVD cover I plan to include a small image at the top of the character so it looks less plain. I also plan to
include a synopsis of the film on the back and some images from the trailer so the audience can have a look at what the film would actually look like.
The next step for my project is to finish off my editing and then finish of my DVD cover so I can then start on the poster.

Today I have been finishing off putting all my footage together and editing it, I have colour graded all my clips and the time length of my trailer is
around 1:55. I do plan on making a promo to go along with it which will be another 30 seconds long.
I feel like this work has gone well, I'm happy with how my trailer looks I just need to add the voice over to it and it should be finished. I did have
difficulty with putting some of the footage together because I didn't know where some of it fit but I'm happy with how it has turned out.
The main success of my work I think was getting my trailer to the time length that it is. I was worried it would only be 1 minute and 30 seconds long
but I filmed some extra scenes to put in and got it to 1 minute and 55 seconds which I'm happy with because I was worried it would be under that.
I had difficulty with, there was one part in my trailer I'm not a fan of where the camera flashes and then it shows different scenes because I don't really
think it fit with the music so I tried to cut the background music at that part and make it fit which I think now it does but I did have difficulty with it at
the start.
To improve my work because I've got my trailer just up to 2 minutes long I was going to make a promo to go along with it as well as my DVD cover
and poster.
The next step for my project is to finish my DVD cover and start on my poster as well as try and start my promo as well.

Today I have finished off my DVD cover. I'm happy with how it has turned out, I wasn't originally going to make the whole cover in a black and white
style but once I did the character in black and white with the background I found doing the rest in that style fit with the aesthetic of my cover and I
think it's turned out quite well.
I feel like this work has gone well, I think the DVD cover will match with the poster I am making I was thinking of doing it the same style and if I have
time I was going to make another poster along with it but in a different style so i would be using more colour in it.
The main success of my work I think was the front cover of my DVD. I feel like the front cover of a DVD is the main thing the audience looks at so it
needs to be eye catching to catch their attention and I think the cover of mine will hopefully catch their attention.
I had a problem with my memory stick today, it had deleted my photoshop file of my DVD cover and I couldn't recover it. I did before take a
screenshot of my cover so I had to use the screen shot of it on photoshop and I made the rest of it with that. I did spend a lot of time trying to find it
but it got deleted somewhere.
To improve my work I could do another version of my DVD cover but in colour, but I have to make the poster as well so I don't think I will have time.

I think this work has gone well, I just need to add the title to the poster and the names of the actor and I should be finished with it. I do plan on

Today I have been working on my promo for my trailer, and I have also started a new poster. I have finished the promo for my trailer, it was only 30
seconds long but I advertised the film, not as much as in my trailer but hopefully enough that the audience would want to see it. For my poster,
because for my DVD cover and other poster it was black and white, I have decided to do this one in colour. However, because my trailer is dark and the
genre it is in is dark its not a colourful poster, it looks quite dark but not in the black and white style.
I feel like this work has gone well, I did struggle trying to make my poster in a new style because I do think the black and white version of it looks
better, with the layout and everything. I did try to make it different at the start, I had a city background instead of a dark street one, but i found it really
didn't suit it as well as I would of liked so I changed it to a dark. foggy, forest sort of background which I think looks better.
The main success of my work I think was getting my promo for my trailer done, I though it would take me a couple days to do but it only took me a
day and I had time to start my poster as well. I am happy with how my promo has turned out as well, I mixed up the footage from my trailer and put it
into a 30 second clip and I think it's worked well.
I have had difficulty with my poster, I wanted to make it in a different style from my other one but it's very similar, just not in black and white. I do think
it looks okay, I thought it would be a very different poster in style and look but its pretty similar but I think it still looks okay.
To improve my work I could make a 10 second short teaser for my trailer to go along with my promo, I think this would be good to advertise it more I
could also put it on social media to promote it as well.
The next step for my project is to finish off my poster, plan my presentation, as well as set up a social media account for it and also start evaluating
next week.

Today I have been working on my evaluation, I have been covering the effectiveness of my research I had done and how it has impacted my project
overall. I have also uploaded my trailer and promo to YouTube and have put them on my website as well.
I feel like this work has gone well so far, I have decided instead of making another poster for my project, because it looked pretty similar to my first
poster, I will try and make a DVD disk cover for my film instead. Because this is my last week of production I should have time to make it and continue
with my evaluation and presentation power point.
The main success of my work I think was reflecting how my research has affected my project overall. Doing this has shown the importance of my
research and where the inspiration of my project has come from. I have found that without my research I would of really struggled making my project
so I am glad I covered it in enough detail.
I didn't really have difficulty with anything during today, because I was mainly reflecting the impact my research has had on my project I didn't really
struggle with it.
To improve my work I could compare the trailers and posters I have looked at to my actual project in a side by side comparison, which I plan to do if I
have time.
The next step for my project is to create my DVD disk that can go along with my cover and to continue evaluating my project.

Today I have been working on my DVD print, I was originally going to continue with my second poster but I thought it would be better to do a DVD
disk print because my poster looked very similar to my other one I thought a DVD print would have been different. I also added more to my
production reflection PowerPoint as well.
I think this work has gone well, it only took me three lessons to do the print. I thought it would of taken me a bit longer because I was unsure of how
to get everything shaped so it fit with the shape of the cover but once I found out how to do it I found it quite easy to design after that.
The main success of my work I think was the style of my print. i think the style of my print, my poster and my DVD cover all keeps in theme with the
thriller genre. I didn't want the print to look too plain, I was originally just going to design it with just the title of the film on, but I decided that wold be
too boring so I added the character and some red smoke to it and it looked a lot better.
I originally had difficulty with figuring out how to place the background and everything onto the disk shape. It took me a while to figure out how to do
but once I found out how to do it I didn't really struggle with it after that.
To improve my work I could have made it so the disk of the DVD was designed so it was coming out of the DVD box. I think that would have looked
quite good, if I have time tomorrow I might do that.
The next set for my project is to maybe finish off my second poster, then I need to create my website for my presentation and do some more
evaluating.

Today I have been working on my website for my presentation as well as my evaluation. I have finished designing and setting up my website. I have
put my trailer, promo and posters on the website as well as a description of what the film is about. For my evaluation I finished off evaluating the
effectiveness of my research.
I feel like this work has gone well. Now that I have my website all set up and mostly everything is added to it, I just need to make a presentation video
and I should be finished with presenting it. I also think my evaluation is going well so far as well, now that I’ve finished evaluating my research I can
evaluate my planning.
The main success of my work I think is my website, I'm happy with how it has turned out the design of it I think reflects the tone and style of my trailer
and poster as well. I think it's easy to navigate as well, I have put the trailer and promos in one section, the posters and DVD covers in another and I
have left another section for my presentation video.
I didn't really have difficulty with anything today, because it was mostly setting up my website I had done that before so I knew how to work it and I
didn't really have any difficulty with my evaluation either.
To improve my work I could add another part to my website that has the scripts and concept art on, but I need to do my presentation video before I
do that.
The next step for my project is to make my presentation video and to try and finish off my evaluation as well.

Today I have been working on my evaluation for my final project, I have covered the effectiveness of my research as well as including the contextual
and theory part of my research which I forgot to include last lesson and the final concept part of my evaluation where I looked at the differences
between my final project and the proposal I made for it at the beginning of production.
I feel like this work has gone well, I couldn't actually really remember what I wrote for my pre proposal so looking back on that and seeing the
differences and similarities from what I had planned and what came out was interesting to look at. I did find that the concept I wrote for my pre
proposal I stuck to throughout production and there wasn't many changes I made throughout.
The main success of my work I think was completing both the effectiveness of my research section and the final concept section of my evaluation. I
didn't think I would finish the final concept part today but I'm glad I have because I should be able to get all my evaluation written up before next
week so I can then focus on my presentation video.
I didn't really have any difficulty evaluating, although I do think i could do a bit more on my final concept I might come back to it because I have to
move onto the next section in my evaluation.
To improve my work I could maybe add a bit more comparison to my final concept so I might come back to that once I finish my whole evaluation.
The next step for my project is to explain what went well with my planning and what didn't and to hopeful finish off my evaluation.

Today I have been working on my evaluation and reflection, I finished covering the sections where I talk about what went well with a certain area of my
work and what didn't. I have almost finished my evaluation, I hopefully plan to finish by tomorrow so I can then move onto making my presentation
video.
I feel like this work has gone well, I was hoping to make a survey to get feedback from my audience about my project today but I didn't have time to
do it, so I plan to make one tomorrow instead and get feedback over the weekend so I can write it up on Monday.
The main success of my work I think was finishing off the section of what went well and what didn't. I think that section of my evaluation was the part
that would take up the most time, evaluating the different works I had done. So I am glad to of finished that part today so I can move on to the section
of my evaluation.
I did struggle on some parts where I was looking at what went well the majority of it did go well so I struggled with what to put with that. Instead I
looked at things that could have gone wrong if I didn't cover a certain part of my work.
To improve my work I could do some comparisons, comparing my work to other existing works and seeing the similarities and differences. Similar to
what I did with the silence of the lambs poster and my own.
The next step for my project is to finish my evaluation and to move onto making my presentation video.

Today I have been working on my evaluation. I have got the majority of my evaluation done, I just need to do the audience responses for it. I have also
made a survey for the audience asking them if they liked my project and if there was any improvements they would make to it.
I feel like this work has gone well. I am glad that I have just about finished my evaluation I think my evaluation is quite detailed so far I tried to include
as many points as possible to make sure I cover all the areas. I also feel like my survey has gone well, I think I have asked some quite important
questions about my work that would help me see what improvements need doing and if I have appealed to my target audience.
The main success of my work I think was looking at how I dealt with different problems during production and reflecting about how my planning and
problem solving has made me prepared for these potential problems. I think it was good looking back at my planning and problem solving to see how
much that had effected my overall production.
At first I did have some difficulty with trying to come up with some questions for my survey. I wasn't sure which answers would be most effective and
on some I struggled with the wording of some of my questions but I think in the end I asked some questions that will give me good feedback for my
work.
To improve my work I think I could have done some more comparisons between some of the products I made. For example, I could have done a
comparison between my Disk print and another disk print or my poster and a different poster from Silence of the lambs or one between my promo and
another promo.
The next step for my project is to gather the feedback I have gotten from my survey and analyse it and then I can move onto my presentation video.

18/05/21
Today I have been finishing off my evaluation, I have gathered the responses from my survey and analysed them and I then concluded my evaluation
as a whole. I have also started writing up a short script for my presentation video I plan to make on Thursday as well.
I feel like this work has gone well, I feel like I have covered most of the important areas in my evaluation and am glad to have some feedback from my
audience so I can see what they think of my trailer. The responses I have got from them have all been positive which is good to see as well.
The main success of my work I think was finishing off my evaluation, I was concerned I wouldn't finish it in time and I still have to make my
presentation video but I finished it today which means I have Thursday and Friday to make my video and write it up.
I think my survey response could of gone better, because I sent it to my friends I asked what they didn't like about my trailer and the majority said
there was nothing they didn't like about it which that could be there honest opinion but I think there must of been one thing I did in my trailer that
they didn't like.
To improve my work I could send the survey and my trailer to some strangers just to see what they think about it because they don't know me and it
would just be there honest opinion.
The next step fro my project it to finish writing the script for my presentation video and start putting the video together which hopefully shouldn't take
me long.

20/05/21
Today I have been working on my presentation video, I have only been able to put the clips together and not the audio because I have just finished the
script for it today as well so I plan to record the script when I get home so I can place it in my video tomorrow but I have the video all edited and put
together.
I feel like this work has gone well, I'm glad to have the video edited so tomorrow on my last day for my project I will only need to place the audio in my
video and I will have time to check all my other work and make sure everything is up to date.
The main success of my work I think was writing the script for the presentation video because it is a relatively short video but I think I have managed to
cover all the important areas.
I haven't really had any difficulty with my work today because I was mainly putting some clips together I didn't find I had any problems with it and I
thin it's been quite successful.
To improve my work at the end of my presentation video I could include the full length trailer at the end but I think the duration time if I did that
would be too long.
The next step for my project is to finish off my presentation video and check over all my work before I hand it all in tomorrow.

21/05/21
Today I have been finishing off my presentation video, I have added my audio to it and I have put it on both my presentation website and my work
website. I have also been going through some of my work and making sure that everything is on my website and completed.
I feel like this work has gone well, I was worried at first with how my presentation video would look but it I think it looks okay especially with the
website I was using to edit it on. I have also completed all my work as well and everything is on my website which is also good.
The main success of my work was getting my presentation video done, I was worried I wouldn't be able to complete it in time but I managed to make
it with some time left to check over my work.
I did have difficulty with putting my audio in so it matched up with the videos with my presentation. I found I had to adjust a lot of my videos and it
made my run time over 1 minute longer than it was originally was. In the end I managed to do this but it took a while to do.
To improve my work I needed to adjust the colour grading on my trailer to make it look less warm but I couldn't get premiere open so I didn't have
time to do this.
I have no finished my project and I have uploading everything to my websites so there isn't anything left to do.
