2. I attracted my selected audience by relating the codes
and conventions of the magazine to my target social
group. I used images that were associated with the
genre such as live music shots and artistic shots of my
model, this helped the audience to understand the
genre of the magazine and the use of pictures draw in
the attention of a younger audience as they respond
better to more obvious advertising. I used bright
colours too again to gain attention of the target
audience of teenagers and young adults as brighter,
more vibrant colours are not only associated with a
younger audience but also the younger audience prefer
bolder colours.
3. I used a lively address in order to engage with
my audience and draw the initial attention to
the magazine. Informal address is the most
appropriate address for a music magazine of
this genre, especially when being associated
with a younger target audience as it is more
relatable for them due to their informality
with friends.
4. My use of text helped to attract and address
my audience as it was bold and easy to see,
this meant that it would be easy reading for a
younger audience as they prefer short chunks
of text in bold colours in order to make it
more interesting to read. The texts was also
intriguing with words such as ‘exclusive’ as a
younger audience would be interested is
gossip and everything happening with their
favourite bands, or ones that they don’t
necessarily like.
