2. Through my usage of minimalistic, bold colours and simplistic typeface
I have created a house style and brand identity that will appeal to my
target audience through connotations of youth, and ensuring it will
stand out on a shop shelf.
I used big bold masthead which
appear to be the largest text on
my cover page, to catch the
attention of my audience
As my audience likes a different
genres of music, I included
names of artists of different
genres on to the front cover to
attract my audiences view to my
magazine.
I stated that it is a ‘Music Essential’ giving
my audience an immediate relation that
the magazine is music magazine.
I decided to use young female on my front
cover which my female audience will be able
to relate as the higher amount of my
audience are females. But, I also believe
having a young women on the cover page
would also attract males attention as they will
be curious about her look.
3. I kept the same stylistic for my contents
page keeping the same magazine identity.
I made the important contents to stand out by
colour coding them with different colours and
relating them to the photos, this way easier for the
reader to navigate, this way attracting the audience
to the contents that are important in the magazine.
I included readers’ experiences to my magazine,
this way showing that the magazine really cares
about it’s audience, and is not afraid to address
them onto the magazine.
Famous singers would attract the
wider audience, this way
promoting my music magazine.
4. The bold largest type of
text on the DPS page
immediately draw
attention to it, also creates
a curiosity for an article as
it is the name of new
‘well known’ artist.
The place of the pull quote,
makes it seem as the artist’s
thought, which will
immediately interest the
reader.
I gave my artist a
whole page to make
her the main focus
and to show her
significance to the
audience.
The artist featured in
the article is the same
artist who is on my
front cover, which
again will allow my
audience to identify
with my magazine as
the majority of them
are young females.
Brief introduction of the article using
formal and informal types of language.
This would be the kind of language
the young people aged 18-21 would be
comfortable reading
